I went back to my room for reasons unrelated to that (antibiotics do have side effects). I'm safe now :D
also,

I am now in a rush to finish my homework so I can read this book and do the practice problems from it. And probably do them all wrong and learning nothing from the experience.

It's all in the journey, I guess? Never know until you try!
In the meantime, I am bored as fuck and am hitting random keys on my midi keyboard hoping something sticks. At this point, I'm pretty much doing a Papy here. At least I have candy.

If you're creatively stuck, work on sound design for a bit. Scrounge around for some sample packs and pick some good bits out of them, or go through your recent samples and sort out the bad and good stuff. Got any loops? Consider listening to those and chopping bits of synth hits and percussion hits out of them as samples to use later. Also, if you haven't already, RTFM.
Here's more samples than any man could ever need. I've used a number of these. Some solid stuff in here. If you download a lot of htem, don't drown yourself in samples or forget to use them.
Here's a number of analog synth recipes. Works well with Abletons Analog synth, but should work with almost any subtractive synth. Making these is a good way to learn how to make certain sounds or creative ways of using the various parameters, especially the creativity fountain that is the LFO. Save a bunch of these as presets for later use, if you really like them.
This might also work for the creative block idea. And sometimes mashing keys is fun too :D

Jesus christ, that is a lot of samples. Kinda intimidating, actually..
There's nothing like having to look at pictures of blood smears that used to be your best friends.
Feh. Today sucked, especially compared to last night.
So last night I had fun with one of my old coworkers at a bar, found a great new cider, and generally had a pretty awesome time. Well after that, she and three friends came over to my place and we hung out for an hour or two drinking more beers and shooting the shit. It was great.
Today I was supposed to have a D&D game at 2, that got cancelled. Then I was gonna hang out with this cute boy from Tinder but he wasn't able to make it up because he didn't finish his uni coursework early enough, my other friend didn't want to hang out and went back to the bar to play pool, and the LGBT group I joined in Orlando changed the date of a meetup I was looking forward to from tomorrow at 6:30pm (when I would have been able to go because I got out of work at 4) to Friday at 8pm (When I can't go because I work until 10:15). Was supposed to be a meet up at a really good chinese buffet/sushi place downtown for dinner, then head over to a game store to play board games and chill for a few hours.
So now I'm just sitting here irritably watching tv cause I ain't got fuck else to do. Today felt like a huge waste of a day off, and it really pisses me off when I end up wasting a day off.
I had a really great day at work today. I <3 you all :D
If I may ask, why did you decide to leave?
It was a situation where i needed to start growing up and look for jobs i can live off of. My choices were to either go back to school or find a job that can substitute for school. I really don't want to go back to school and was able to get an interview for a 1 year internship working desktop support at a hospital my brother and father work at. They absolutely loved me and fast tracked me through the process as they felt my first interview was so good i didn't need to be given a second and was hired within a day.
I'll most likely get offered a full time position as my brother works in the IT department as well as they admit they so rarely get people to take intern positions in IT that actually study the field or know what they're doing so they hire them pretty quickly into their internship.
I loved my job at the movies, and i'm now a rare breed as they no longer offer certification courses for projection operation and look to outside hires, but it was a job that paid so very little. I was hired 6 years ago and made $7.25 starting. After 5 raises and a promotion i was only making $8.65/hr at the time of my quitting.

sign me up
the stress of my gpa deciding whether or not my parents pay my tuition is causing me to lose sleep again. and get nauseous and super anxious. I'm nearly about to vomit from the stress alone, I feel. Mostly because if they retract support it would be very hard for me to even get loans in time to return to school and the FAFSA loans are shitty, in terms of interest.
so I'm using this awake time to do more hw and practice problems. I can't even think of departmental admissions or I will be sick. or internships. or jobs. oh god.

you should really have a conversation with your parents how its super shitty and unhealthy for them to threaten something like that on top of you worrying about literally everything else college students worry about
its one thing to want your kid to succeed its another to be an ahole about it
I mean I'm pretty sure I'm improving my academic work through therapy, lifestyle changes, and being consistent in my medication. Also establishing routines. But there are still times where I do my homework last second or find myself unable to focus in class (despite trying to so damn hard). That and I self sabotage, I've been an academic failure to my family for all 13 years of my schooling so tis really hard for me to convince myself I'm not already doomed to fail and that my dreams of aerospace engineering aren't mine to have or ever achieve.
sorry for blogposting but I need to vent. I should probably just talk to my parents like an adult.

woops, my merge. I don't think its entirely an asshole move. College is fucking expensive and they're paying for all of it out of pocket. I am really grateful for it and want to badly to make the best of this opportunity and gift and not waste it, but I feel I'm doing that everyday I can't give 100% or choose not to give 100%. I feel like a bitchy entitled rich kid 90%+ of the time though, when I see friends and classmates struggling with student loans. I wonder if having to take those on would be healthy for my perspective and make me work harder.

regardless of where the money comes from you're going to feel obligated to do well because you're not the one paying it. the only difference is there aren't arbitrary loan officers who follow students around and remind them to do well otherwise they'll lose all their student loans
but if it doesn't phase you too much then thats cool too

it's a magical place
I mean, as much as I wanted it to be connected to the forum, there's a certain allure of the steam chat that only attracts specific people it seems. It's for fast conversations and fun chat, honestly.
I can, however, say with certainty that it is a friendly environment and anyone is welcome!
Morning gay chat.
Finally set this song for my alarm.

not sure if you mean the new one or the old one, but in any case, yes the new one can get wild, but in a fairly harmless way from what I've observed.

I haven't been in chat for like years now? I'm probably talking about the old one, didn't even know there was a "new" chat nowadays.
I can't go to school today because I'm not good with my money and is missing a 100 crowns in order to buy a monthly bus card. :frown:
So yeah. I have to pretend to be sick I suppose.

He lives in PA and holy shit seriously? My starting wage on the other side of the state was higher than that, no wonder you quit.
