Hahaha, oh man, this reminds me so much of seeing my relatives enraged at being expected to call same sex couples married, that it's so unfair to them, that it's unnecessary having to cater to anyone but the majority.
If being mindful of a minority's experience is such a burden, then maybe there's some more deep seated issues going on behind the scenes. :v:
Except that I don't force my belief on minorities. Like I already stated in the one time in 5 years of saying "Merry Christmas" to people in a retail setting only one person ever said anything besides "Merry Christmas" back and when he said "Happy Hanukkah" to me, I changed my greeting to "Happy Hanukkah" without malice to be mindful/nice.
Hell yeah! Not even two days into November and you guys are arguing about "Merry Christmas" vs "Happy Holidays". Come on, Snoberry.
a counterpoint that didn't even respond to his main argument gj
Because the only response to his main argument would be a perceptibly hollow attempt at defending my own take/practice of Christmas, and about how I don't follow it for consumerist reasons but believe in the spirit of giving.
Like giving y'all a hard time over a seasonal greeting.

A-are... you rooting for me?
is it honestly such a bother to say happy holidays
it isn't your ~~CONSITUTIONAL RIGHT~~ to express religious beliefs
for example, if your religious beliefs were to be racist, you would quickly become unemployed and not be able to win a lawsuit against your prior employment
you're throwing a huge fuss all because of the notion that one phrase is more inclusive than another
i like being told happy holidays, because it shows consideration for the possibility that my beliefs are different, instead of being a throwaway phrase to pretend to care about someone

Merry Christmas, Bitches <3
I mean it, too
I got your point, I was making a counterpoint that obviously went over your head.
You tried, and failed at some ~sweet zinger~ while parading around the fact you feel inconvenienced over "happy holidays". There was no actual point to be had.
Basically you're coming off as a big fat baby because there's people that would like to be included in the holiday spirit (there's multiple holidays in December, not just Christmas) instead of being excluded and everyone that disagrees with you is just trying to peddle off ~PC bullshit~. You're completely incapable of why you're coming across as a bit of a cunt and completely insensitive to people who don't follow that holiday; because if the majority do, the minority doesn't matter.
Mmm-mm, nourishing and delicious drama, om-nom-nom-nom.
Oh, by the gods, I am so full. I can barely leave a comment. No more please.
...Well okay a bit more

I like the part how you ignore the things I say that refute your perception of me being this horrible oppressive minority hating baby murderer.

Oppressive minority hating baby murderer. Nice.
Here's the thing, you've already stated "happy holidays" is ~PC bullshit~, it's "feel good nonsense", you want to say Merry Christmas to piss off "Christmas hating scrooges", and that you're offended because you're expected to be inclusive while on the job.
You've said all these things, these things make you look like a whiny baby that comes across as a cunt because you're expected to be inclusive instead of subjecting every customer to your own religious holiday of choice who could very likely not follow that holiday or its associated religion and you think you're entitled to do that while on the job and being punished for going against that policy is some how oppressive.
Don't bother with this argument- its not worth your time. Snoberry has to follow the laws of his workplace anyways. It too reminds me of what I'm going to have to put up with with my family over winter break. I'm not allowed to voice my opinion anymore (mothers request, she hates rellies too)
I finished my 307 Hw before the day its due. The other days I did the HW at like 2am the morning before. Between my perfect hw score and my test grade I might get like a 3.7+ in this class. I'm so hyped c:
And I still have time make up for math grade, and my chem grade is the same- 2 more tests and a lot of HW+lab

I say "Merry Christmas" to piss off the scrooges that hate that Christmas stuff is up in november not because they don't celebrate the holiday. Context, dude.

My current workplace does not actually have a policy on holiday greetings. What are 'rellies'?
[editline]1st November 2015[/editline]
Also congrats on the high GPA for your classes, paindoc. Good job! Told you that you could do it.

Given your reaction to "happy holidays" it's p apparent the sentiment doesn't end with people (understandably) frustrated with christmas shit in november.
i'm going to take paindoc's advice and just walk away now, you're not worth time or effort.
Because the vast majority of people celebrate some variation of Christmas, and a large number of them, like me, find it offensive that we should be forced to say some bullshit PC phrase like "Happy Holidays" in an empty gesture to the minority of people that celebrate something else as if they'd somehow be offended by someone who celebrates Christmas wishing someone else a "Merry Christmas".
It's not that they'd be offended, it's just polite to be considerate of others.

Oh yeah shit you got me I totally hate Jewish people and people that celebrate Kwanzaa and literally everyone else that doesn't celebrate the one true and only real holiday Christmas. Fuck those guys damn my cover has been blown.
Do you realize how idiotic that sounds? The implication that I hate people that don't celebrate a fucking holiday?
It's not that they'd be offended, it's just polite to be considerate of others.
And, for the third time, if someone points out in any way that they celebrate something other than Christmas, I have in 100% of the scenarios this has happened, changed my greeting to be considerate of their particular observances.
Man I sure like dicks, don't you guys? Being gay is great.
[editline]1st November 2015[/editline]
I love how being gay doesn't make me waste THREE FUCKING PAGES arguing about 'happy holidays'
One page, and I'm going to bed.
hey guys
guys
christmas greetings
also im thinking about getting a dickton of chocolates and giving a basket to my parents because i feel like a leech
ahhhhh
it's that time of year again
that time of year when you can order any taboo you want online, and nobody gets to pester you wondering what you bought, nor even have an excuse to open your mail of 'oops i didnt realize this package was yours'
this is that time of year when you can tell your family that you are ordering gifts for them online, and order dildos on the side
people who argue over the semantics of the wording of the holiday are petty
I shall say "Happy hanukkah" to everyone now and answer with "No I'm not jewish" regardless of anything now
[editline]2nd November 2015[/editline]
Christmas is kind of a marketed holiday anyways. It doesn't really seem to happen because of family / spiritual reasons any more (purely anecdotal)
it's still my favorite though

It is weird, I already see stores putting out Christmas gear when November has just started. What about Thanksgiving? I want to see some turkeys.
It is weird, I already see stores putting out Christmas gear when November has just started. What about Thanksgiving? I want to see some turkeys.
There's really not a whole lot to do with thanksgiving as a holiday. There's not really any wind-up to it like there is with Christmas and Hanukkah, and it's not as widespread (it's just an American/Canadian holiday, IIRC). A few shelves of seasonal decorations is generally enough. So I guess they figure what's the harm in pushing Christmas stuff into November.
