A pretty good government would be one with limited use of money. Everyone would work for a certain amount of hours. The bare necessities of life would be free (food, house, electricity etc.). Every thing else would be paid for based on how long you work in day (2 hours equals ten items or something). The more important jobs that are essential to running a civilization like a military would earn more items per hour. This includes scientists and mathematicians, but these jobs would require a higher degree of education. Fuel would consist mostly of clean energy. The branches of government would be the same as the U.S. government except all the members inside the branches would be quadrupled.
I don't know I think it's pretty good.
But of course little problems would add up to something huge that kills the whole system.

What is an item? Is a toothbrush an item? Is a car an item? If both of them are considered one item, then there will be a real problem of lacking some shit and overflow of other. And if some items are worth more than others, then we already got that, it's money.
If all the basic things were free, what if some people didn't bother working at all or instead started to steal for the sake of it?
Also your more important profession = bigger reward will essentially create society layers where poor are angry at rich and shit like that.
What about entertainment industry? How would you pay the game developers or actors? Since nothing is sold, how will someone profit so they can make another movie?
Essentially you're suggesting currency that can buy any item for one currency. Which will crush the market.
Then again, how do you define who is more important? Everyone wants to be important, people get angry when they're deemed unimportant. A street cleaner is damn important, a trash collector is too, so is a doctor. Then who is not important?

Huh,
Never thought of it that way...
Except that's impossible considering that whole 'human nature' thing.
Human nature doesn't exist, the only thing common between humans are our basic needs which are air, water, food, shelter, and social interaction. Its a shoddy argument and im tired of it being used everywhere.
That said, Communism isn't the answer. It is a baseless political ideology just like every other system so far. We need something formulated scientifically and with real roots in reality and technology.
