They come back to try and resume thier lives dealing with thier new abilities. Michael Chiklis as James "Jim" Powell, Sr. – a police sketch artist who is super-strong, nearly invulnerable, can leap over tall buildings, and is fire-retardant. When in contact with cinoxate, his powers fail. His weakness lies in finesse and agility. Julie Benz as Stephanie Powell (née Crane) – a scientist who works at Global Tech. She has super speed (running a mile in 6 seconds) and an incredibly fast metabolism that allows her to heal quickly. She was initially working on the research of the Trilsetum Coronis, the "crown jewel" plant of the Amazon Basin. She later found out that the plant shared the same chromosomes as the families' superpowered DNA. Kay Panabaker as Daphne Nicole Powell – Jim and Stephanie's 15-year-old daughter. She has the power of telepathy and the ability to see the memories of others by touching them, which has allowed her to restore her own memories. She later found out that she can also change a person's mind through telepathic suggestions. Jimmy Bennett as James "JJ" Powell, Jr. – Jim and Stephanie's 14-year-old son; a teenager with vast intelligence. He has the ability to speed-read and comprehend large amounts of information by just reading the page (but is only capable of remembering it for six hours). He is also capable of learning a new language fluently in a matter of minutes. His powers extend to a form of "genius vision". When he becomes sexually aroused, his powers fail. He can also perceive an opponent's weakest spot to strike. In episode 15 it is revealed that he is immune to daphne's telepathic suggestions. Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews – a lab tech and Stephanie's personal assistant at Global Tech and comic book fangirl. She is aware of the Powells' superpower. She is also dating the Watcher (under the alias of Will and later Joshua), but it is unknown to her that he is hired by Dr. King to find out about the Powell family's abilities.[21] Her favorite superhero(ine) is Kitty Pryde. Romany Malco as George St. Cloud – an assistant district attorney in Pacific Bay and long-time friend of Jim's. He also knows of his superpowers. He is a comic book fanboy. He sponsors and runs the crime-fighting intelligence network ("The Lair") in his garage. Stephen Collins as Dr. Dayton King – Stephanie's boss at Global Tech and, as the series unfolds, a key figure in the Powells' super-powered universe. In episode 14, through the security cameras, he learns of Jim and Stephanie's powers. No Ordinary Powell Recap: The episode begins with Stephanie coming home and finding Jim dead on the floor. Then it shows previous events 12 hours later. Dr. King orders Victoria Marrow, a shapeshifter, to infiltrate the Powell's house and kill one of them. Jim tracks down her apartment, where he sees a bulletin board full of pictures of him and his family. When Victoria returns, she temporarily blinds him with a mace and transforms into a hobo man. Then Daphne and JJ discover their mom searching through their bathroom, which is actually Victoria. Then she pretends to be Chris, which summons Daphne away. She searches through Stephanie's drawers filled with energy snacks and shoes until JJ catches her. Then she answers a premonitory call from Jim. She finds out about Daphne's and JJ's powers, which she reports in her frequent meetings with Dr. King. JJ and Daphne try to solve the case of JJ's ex-girlfriend, Natalie's mother's cold case murder. They are almost killed by a carpenter's wife, who is the killer because Natalie's mother slept with her husband. It is revealed that Victoria's real name is Amelia. At the end she shapeshifts into Jim to fight him, and is then killed when he breaks her head with an ash shovel. Josh disposes of her body, and Stephanie and Jim realize that if Dr. King realizes Amelia is dead, then he will avenge the Powells. Stephanie protects Amelia's secret by pretending to be her in Stephanie form and telling Dr. King that she is going back to Brazil where everything originated. The episode ends with Stephanie cowaring behind a column in Global Tech. So yeah, it was pretty good so far. I don't know if the Watcher will become a possible ally later in the future to defeat any King supermutants. I mean, every superhero needs a sidekick. I wonder if Stephanine will try to research how to change into people like Victoria, that'll be cool. Gotta have some sense in that.
It's alright, if quite poorly written. It fixes my Julie Benz craving though. Poor Rita, and poor Darla.
It's so cheesy, but the teleporting dude in one of the first episodes was pretty cool.
It's quite cheesy yes but it kinda reminds me of matinée (?) movies. :P Laid back and such. So in that way I do enjoy it.
Its not too superheroic, but also not too focused on normal lives. I think it's a great mix with both. I honestly can't wait to see how Dr. King is a small person compared to the massive group that "Joshua" is talking about.
I only watch it for Julie Benz because I miss her on Dexter but the writing is off and I don't really enjoy it.
I watch this, I just think the girl that plays Daphne is a horrible actor, Jim, (especially(just because he was in Star Trek)) JJ and Steph are cool though.
I catch it from time to time, mostly because I watch V. It's okay. Not really something I get excited about watching, and I don't really follow it too closely. Not to mention, the son's all-too-cliche sub plots annoy me. In fact, the father`s plots are a lot more interesting.
Julie Benz <3 Also, I probably won't watch it. But I miss her.
The story is not the best, However it still keeps me engaged, but what makes me truly attracted to this show is that the characterization is god dam amazing! Absolutely love the family!
I started watching this. But it's not very well written. You know, if something is well written and has engaging characters, I will make sure I watch it. But this. I have it recorded, but I don't really care.
ah fuuuuuuuck.
