just workout before you fuzz around with dieting tbh
alot of beginners gets thrown off working out when they jump into the diet subject, it's a wast subject and it can be really challenging to diet.
Focus on eating clean and getting enough proteins. And eat alot if you want to grow.
Look up macronutrients on top of this, Argv. Eat about 1g/1lb of protein per bodyweight. Some think it's excessive but it sure as fuck makes it a lot easier.

lmao
i remember a guy at my gym, went to the biggest bodybuilding guy there (which is a friend of mine, i meet him at the gym and talk to him nearly every time i workout) while he was giving me tips about growing and what he ate. He said "man i ate like 80G proteins before i came to workout" then the idiot came up to him and said: "dude the body only uses 50g a day and you're just wasting money eating more than that"
my jaw dropped when he said that to the biggest fucking guy at the gym.
Yo, question about training for muscle mass.
Some peeps say its all about hitting the 6 - 12 rep range but making sure you hit failure on each set, tearing dem bitches up.
That's cool an' all but say for example on bench press you hit that 12 reps on the first set and have gone to failure, next set you just about managed 8 once again you've gone to failure. Third set you hit about 4. Muscles are now fuarrked. Total of 24 reps.
Now, say, if you didn't go to failure on any sets and stayed at around 6 reps with the exact same weight and you manage to do a total of 5 sets that's a total of 30 reps. Would this be more beneficial as you're actually stimulating the muscles more?
Secondly wouldn't recovery time would be quicker, meaning that chest or whatever could be trained again later on in the week?
he's also insane at dieting.
As Raccoon said, its generally accepted to eat as big as you want to be. Also, processed food is anything that's transformed from their natural states, obviously there's some that you can't fully run away from like protein powder which is processed food but its really useful to get to that protein macro you're aiming for but stuff like mac and cheese and pizza is just hehh. Also I've noticed that a good amount of your carbs are coming from straight sugar, if you can replace that sugar with carbs from more natural, unprocessed sources such as brown rice and grains and the likes, that'd be really good.
Alright, thanks for the advice. I'm planning on doing things like eating whole wheat and rye breads instead of white, and getting more foods from the deli instead of from the can. Rice is a good idea too, would be great for snacks or dinners. I know you can get oats and rice in bulk for dirt cheap. For breakfasts, I've already started eating rolled oats instead of the powder mix for cereal, and then just put some cinnamon in there.

get them quaker oats bro that's good shit
Also someone suggested just drinking olive oil if I'm having calorie problems, is that a good idea? Because I mixed in a tablespoon of that stuff with my oats for breakfast and protein shakes at night and I couldn't taste it so I could take it no problem.

personally, i use date paste , bread and here u go 300g carbs in about 10 mins.

it's all a matter of volume, progressive overload and time under tension. there's no magic rep number, there's just overall time under tension and volume.
fuck tearing fibers, fuck everything, it's as simple as that. trial and error, there's no formula just basic guidelines.

eating clean is overrated, anal, unreasonable and really really unproductive. when you're a beginner
make sure you kids get your avacados and broccoli now

Different strokes different folks i guess. I've yet to see a beginner jump straight unto dieting and doing it right though.

doing what right though
eating clean as a concept is pretty fucking abstract, and doesn't hold much water for efficiency when its held under the microscope.
It's not to go as far as saying that all calories are created equal - they aren't, but in practice - its of so little impact its really not worth worrying about. If you're getting all your vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc in plentiful amounts, theres not much else to be anal about.
Like the difference between eating white rice and brown rice is fucking moot. Brown rice has a bit more fiber, who gives a shit.
Brown rice has a bit more fiber, who gives a shit.
it matters if you take a shit
kidding aside, valid point

Seriously, the only thing I really bother about when eating "clean" is just let's say I want carbs, I'll get that shit from rice rather than chocolate.
u obv haven't tried chocolate mini cakes. fuckin delicious
I never said I was getting it from rice rather than chocolate because I liked rice over chocolate :(

I actually don't have much of a sweet tooth anymore. Sweet shit like chocolate cake just makes me feel terrible, so I stick to umami and bitter shit. I'll make exceptions every now and again, but there's a reason why I drink my coffee black.
