I went during winter once, we had a snowstorm mid match and it got foggy, don't put your mask too tight as well or it'll fog up and you'll be walking around near blind. Some cunt shot me like 5/6 times when I had my hand up as well bloody good thing I had some armoured gloves on.
I've played paintball for two years before moving on to airsoft. If its your first game, I suggest wearing baggy clothes. Baggier the clothes = less pain (if you are scared). KEEP YOUR GOGGLES ON, I see lots of stupid newbies take off their goggles in the middle of a game to de-fog them. This is very unsafe. If you need to un-fog your goggles, go to the safe area and do it. If you are renting a paintball gun and paintballs, bring lots of money because paintball is expensive (thats why I quit) and generally, as a newbie you will be shooting alot. Don't try and be cool and lone wolf, stick with the experienced guys and do what they tell you to do (unless they are complete idiots). Edit: Don't be a pansy and just hide like some new players do, it doesn't hurt that much at all.
I thought this thread was going to be about one of my favorite freeware games as a kid, Paintball Party, and got all excited. Way to let a bro down.
Protip: Do not stay in one spot for too long. You'll eventually get pinned down unless you're very well hidden. Also, getting hit in the shins with a ricocheted, unbroken paintball hurts like shit. Now for story-time: This one time me and a few friends were taken paintballing for a friends birthday party when we were around 13-14. Was pretty fun. When me and a friend were hit, we jogged over to the out of bounds, only to find out we went the wrong way when like 10 guys started rushing towards us. They weren't trying to shoot us, but the enemy team behind us (I don't know how we didn't see them.) There was this one black guy with dreads that basically fucking jumped over us. Anyway it was pretty funny looking back on it. The dad of my friend who was having his birthday got into a fight with some guy after arguing whether he was out and calling him a "dirty spic". Nice birthday, huh? Another time me and my brother went to this big 3-day event in Pennsylvania that was advertised as a D-Day reenactment. It was pretty far from it but it was still a lot of fun. I had to sneak in due to the fact I didn't meet the age requirements. My brother, a few strangers and I went out at night one time when it was pitch black. We couldn't see shit and couldn't use flashlights since we were entering an enemy "town" and there were patrols out so we had one guy with night vision goggles leading us. Eventually a patrol got pretty close and spotted us. Everyone but me and this lady got hit and it came down to us. Unfortunately we too got hit, but the experience was great.
As a Sniper, aim for the head to do critical damage.
My most badass story is when I played a pub game at the local field and I ran around the entire fucking field (this is an enclosed area about a football field in size so everyone could see me if they looked) and got to the enemy's back lines. I acted like one of them and shot at my team (made sure I missed of course). Then when none of them were locking I lit up two guys in a bunker ahead of me. They were all confused and left. Then I moved to the bunker they were at and hit another three guys individually. Now there were only another three on the enemy team. I ran up and paint two of them. The last guy figured out what was up and ran to the other side of his bunker so it was between me and him. Only problem was I was behind him, so now he had his ass to my team. He got lit the fuck up. [editline]01:58PM[/editline] Also, if you have some balls it really isn't that bad. Sometimes the paintball will puncture your skin. You may get some welts but it is worth it for the fun you will have.
If I could +rep you, I would. I really, really would :)
This isn't steam forums.
I'm going to be like the Scout. :smug:
Yeah, I don't think it would be a good idea to bash people in the head with a bat.
The most awesome thing that's ever happened to me is walking off the course and discovering a random paintball in my pocket. Someone shot me, and it landed there without exploding.
Just don't take it too seriously. If you get shot, just go off fairly and joke about it.
IT dosent hurt.
You're over dramatizing the idea of paintballing being terrifying.
I went today, so ask me any questions.
I went today, so ask me any questions.
Do you think the new Xbox is worth it even though I have one already but it doesn't have a hard drive and I don't have Xbox Live?
Dont forget to take human shields
Do you think the new Xbox is worth it even though I have one already but it doesn't have a hard drive and I don't have Xbox Live?
He did say any.
Paintballing is awesome, i was only hit once in like 6 hours :smug: but yeah, it does hurt, but most of that pain is lost by adreniline. Also if its a muddy day, dont be afraid to get yourself dirty man, i crawled through fucktons of mud and loved every second, it felt like a war movie :3:
OP is a troll. [editline]08:29PM[/editline] And why is it that all paintball guns are terribly designed, has it occurred to any companies that the best place to put the CO2 tank is under the barrel?
Me and some friends wen't paintballing last December and I gotta say it was pretty fun. Our place didn't give us special suits, we got a mask and a gun with some paint balls, and it kinda stings when it doesn't explode. OH! You do not want to get hit on the knuckle, that hurts for quite a while. Did anyone know that paint balls can cut and break the skin?

[editline]08:29PM[/editline] And why is it that all paintball guns are terribly designed, has it occurred to any companies that the best place to put the CO2 tank is under the barrel?
Use it as a stock. Also, who the fuck uses CO2? Compressed air is vastly superior. Check out the BT-16. They put the CO2 under the barrel and it was retarded. I used to own one.
I've been invited to a paintball party, and, honestly... I'm scared. The closest I've been to anything like this is playing TF2. Yeah, I'm cool. :smug: What happens? Is it like Capture the Flag, or elimination, or what? Does it hurt? How many hits can you take before you "die"? What do I wear? So many questions. I realise that some of the questions above may depend on which place I go to, but try to answer those that you can. It would be appreciated. Also, tell your most BADASS paintball stories.
My only advice: Make sure you don't get bunkered. At whatever cost. You will be shot with 200-300 balls at once. It hurts like hell, and I know from experience.
