How did you feel after the accident about your disability?
Pretty shitty, but it has offered me so much more than I would have experienced as just a normal guy. It's given me a whole new perspective on life. I will become a cyborg as soon as possible. That's like a given. My parent's love me, I don't see why they wouldn't. I wonder how much those exoskeletons cost. Maybe I could be a crime fighter, like batman.
Have you ever had a dream in which you regained walking ability?
You ever play on doing this? I mean, ya know, if a Zombie Apocalypse ever happened and all.
I already have a tactical rail attachment on my wheelchair. I've dreamed a ton about walking, sometimes I can kind of feel my legs, but it's just me remembering what it feels like in my dreams.
Here's a another robotic exoskeleton demonstration video. It works along with the crutches to control the legs so I don't believe this one requires any leg mobility at all, unlike the other. Skip to 3:20 to see it.
That look of joy on her face when she was walking
I already have a tactical rail attachment on my wheelchair. I remember reading about how DARPA or someone awesome was working on synthetic limbs that could feel.
If I was ever let to demonstrate an exoskeleton, I'd just go on a rampage, and live as a cyborg renegade.
If I was ever let to demonstrate an exoskeleton, I'd just go on a rampage, and live as a cyborg renegade.
Yes, but you can walk.
If I was ever let to demonstrate an exoskeleton, I'd just go on a rampage, and live as a cyborg renegade.
I can already imagine a gritty bladerunner-esque movie about a fugitive with paralyzed legs and an exoskeleton and crutches
Well I'd say the thread is over. Thank you all for asking me questions, I'm glad I could answer them for you.
Despite my first post, I think it's actually ridiculously awesome that you've overcome a disability like this and moved on to an awesome life. You go, man.
My sister's boyfriend is physically impaired below his waist due to some spinal disease (or something like that, all I know is it really fucked him up). He missed half a year of college because of it, and most likely won't be able to play soccer again. The good news for him, is that he is recovering slowly. He can now at least control his bladder and move his legs. He can even legally drive, he just can't walk or stand up for long periods of time without crutches. Still, OP, I can sort of see what you went through. It looks like a huge pain in the ass, even to do simple stuff like going up stairs. But its good that you aren't letting it keep you down.
I never have to deal with leg fatigue do to walking.
I'm gonna get myself a wheelchair... Been using a cane for a few years, also a result of the fight I mentioned. But seriously man, you're awesome. I don't know what I'd do in your situation. I love my muscle cars....

If you became a quadriplegic, how do you think you would deal with that?
If you became a quadriplegic, how do you think you would deal with that?
That would be terrible.
Wow, stop being dicks
Lets all be vaginas and assholes. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] Why haven't you taken paralyze heal yet?
I am studying Computer Engineering at Iowa State.
Build robot legs for yourself
and then build some for me, I want a pair too
If they figured out how to transplant working legs and someone offered you one of theirs (so you'd both be able to walk but each with one prosthetic) would you accept
I would accept new legs in a heartbeat. I haven't taken paralyze heal yet because I refuse to support the Pokemon economy. I'm already paralyzed from the waist down, so losing the use of my limbs would probably drive me to commit suicide.

You can grow one yourself and not worry about supporting the pokemon economy.
Are you a musician? Do you like eletronic music?
Are you a musician? Do you like eletronic music?
I play the guitar and kazoo. I also created my own genre called "Dongstep"
have you ever as a joke tried to fuck with your friends and be like oh yeah i can totally walk now, try to stand up and just fall?
Feel free not to answer this if it's too personal, but how did you adapt to the sexual dysfunction after the accident? Is it something you still really miss or do you get enough fulfillment from other things that it's not so much of a big deal?
Doing a joke like that is pretty funny, but it's hard to do. It's like trying to stand with a trillion tons of weight on your legs, you just can't do it. I can still have (limited) sex, but it's really lost it's luster. I miss it, sure, but shit happens. Some people don't understand why I couldn't just balance my body on my legs. It's like trying to stand on nothing.
What do you miss most? [editline]8th July 2011[/editline]
I would accept new legs in a heartbeat. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] Also share some jokes please.i know this one black side and he tells the best racist jokes ever.i could imagine you know some good ones too.
how do you jack off
He doesn't jack off he has an army of girls to do it for him.
Even though I'm still paralyzed, I still fucked your mother last night. I miss being able to kick nerds asses.
I'm fucking high and let me tell you. I admire you so much, I would do anything to be you. I'm half the man you are.
