Just got back from seeing Childish Gambino. Hell of a show. Crowd was boring as hell, but Glover went hard.
A$AP Rocky Calls Homophobia In Hip Hop "Retarded"
A$AP Rocky recently spoke with AOL’s Spinner, venting about homophobia in Hip Hop and actively rallying against it. During the interview, the Harlem, New York native said that he doesn’t care what your sexual preference is as long as you’re a good person, and that he chooses friends based on personality over sexuality.
“I don't give a f--- about your business," he said. "Man, if you're gay we can be friends. If you're straight, we can be friends. I'm not gay, I don't plan on being gay, I don't condone it and I'm not sayin' I'm against it. I really don't give a f--- and I don't think anyone should care about what another man's preference is... unless he's interested, if you know what I'm sayin'."
The “Peso” rapper, who is currently dating Iggy Azalea, asserted that he is interested in women but that he won’t judge anyone else based on his or her preferences.
"Who gives a f---?" he says. "I like women. I love women. I'm not going to not be your friend because you like men. As long as you're a great person and, aside from that, y'know, you don't bother me and make me uncomfortable, then let's be friends, dude… It doesn't matter. You don't see people for being gay. People need to leave gay people the f--- alone. Like, who cares? If you still care about s--- like that you need to just hang yourself like the rest of them KKK motherf---ers. For real. Who gives a f---?"
He compares Hip Hop to Pop, citing Lady Gaga as an artist who does not discriminate against those who enjoy her music. “[Hate a person] because they're a thief or a bad person," he says. "Don't hate 'em for what they choose to do, because they make decisions on their own time what they choose to do. I don't care and it's like f---ed up that hip-hop is so retarded. They don't want to accept nothing
+1 coolness to him. It's not very articulate or aware of how homosexuality works, but he's clearly condemning homophobia.
"That's swag bitch."

After hearing that new song I remain skeptical.
Maybe you'll like the other song he's done from the new album. I posted it on the bottom of the last page

Yeah it probably had more of an effect on me than someone just watching the video. I'm still gonna give the album a listen when it comes out
Wasn't big on Zero Dark Thirty either
I just listened to Tha Carter 2 because a friend told me Lil' Wayne was really good in those older albums.
I really didn't like it.
whats do you guys think about Del the Funkee homosapien?

He gave away a free album a few years ago.
"Funk Man (The Stimulus Package)"
It's pretty good, worth a listen.

The Rialto theater down in Tempe Arizona. He also had Danny Brown, but I wasn't digging him at all. The crowd didn't fucking move at all. It was pretty bad. When Gambino came on people started moving a bit, but there was like NO energy in the crowd. I was honestly more pumped on the car ride there then half the crowd was during bonfire. He forgot the lines to the first song and just went UHHHHHHHH SING IT IF YOU KNOW IT and it was fucking great. Once it was over he had like 4 different encores and it was awkward as shit because people would start to leave and he would just come back on and start rapping again

I hate when crowds are dead. I heard Danny Brown's shows are awesome though.
I saw OFWGKTA the other week and the crowd were more or less dead there too. There was a moshpit but aside from that the crowd were basically still for the duration of the show.
I've had these 2 songs stuck on repeat for a while.

The sample in The Recipe is great.

Spoek Mathambo - Father Creeper
Pretty damn good experimental hip-hop/electronic/ethnic for the year. It's my first listen so I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it's intense.

One of my favourite hip hop records of the year so far.
doom is not king of hip hop, kanye best is. :downs:
It's not debatable because Doom is absolutely not the king. :v:
No Lil Wayne is the king of hip hop, seriously. Gucci Man is archduke
Gucci Man
hehehe.
Lil Wayne is a goat.
DOOM's not the king he's the supervillian.

IT'S ON.
Nah but really, the thing with Doom is, he can rap on pretty much anything, and usually kills it too.
