Instrumentals definitely count as hip-hop. If it weren't for DJ's and producers hip-hop would not be what it is today. Those Knxwledge beats are sick as fuck.
RIP MCA
well fuck

Love that snare.
Yauch's gone. Fuck. :(

Hey guys. It's been a while. Today I kind of felt creative, so I wrote down a few bars over a beat. I feel this is the place to post it for evaluation (lyrical only, unfortunately). That being the case... This was written over beat 2 of this tape: http://www.datpiff.com/INSTRUMENTALS-Teezy-promotional-Instrumentals-Vol-3-BEATS-instru-mixtape.75269.html Shouts out to TZ, makes killin’ beats too easy Look at you all sleazy, then I light up the bleezy I smoke on this weed see, my vision’s hasheeshy Lungs a lil Weezy, and no he can’t beat me, Shouts out to the west coast, it’s all fo sheezy Bitches be skeezy, tint so they can’t see me Shades on, my eyes chinked, so thin that I can’t see Red like the bottoms on my bitch’s shoe tips Dome like a goddess, she’s makin’ my spine twitch Try me, I’m the hottest, I spit fire and I’m a wisher Super high me, use my rhymes to spark your swisher Break it down the middle, fill a lot and not a little Careful though the kid’ll, play you like a motherfucking fiddle, 1st team, I done been picked, you’re minor leagues I’m Olympic Paper planes rolled tight, don’t play with that thin shit Every time that you spit, all it is is foolishness I get this and I’ll be the richest, you can call me the Dickist Comin down with the sickness, reekin’ of that sick shit That I spit, til the day I quit, just keep it lit and pass the spliff I’m educated, like Cambridge, mom and dad just got rich Off of the prodigy, yeah you best acknowledge me Gang members done shot at me, but victory is all I see I’ll win your mind, psychology, then win your heart, biology Let me be, take a knee, while I be what you’ll never be. Cleared up all the grey clouds, just me and a stage now I think I’m going insane now, need something to calm down Call a bitch named Mary, she’s not scary, but hairy Put her in the bong then I milk her like dairy Farmin’ these streets for a girl to marry Play her a love song like I was Chuck Berry But really I’m scary, she might end up buried In my mind it’s that time gotta grind Gotta find where to go, see the signs No U-turn, there’s no going back The game’s old and I’m a heart attack Here to kill it, should you will it Hard dealin’, with the feelings, Stress levels, to the ceiling The internal pressure will fuck your Trajector-y make it hard to project What you want them to see Ask the legends like Heavy D Rest in peace, to the classic beasts That built this world of talking beats And the culture, bound up and can’t see Take my hand, I’m the key, I’m the future, I’ll be what you need me, to be The sun rise and it’s wake and bake Talladega nights, call em shake and bake All your breath I’ve yet to take But Thank God for these raps I make But please, keep the snakes, away, from me Fuck scales, call it, Crocodile Dundee If you freak then I freak You never see, what’s gonna be You can only guess, turns out we’re all guests I’m just tryna upgrade, To that 5 star suite, yeah get paid Rhyme sage, hot like I was Miami Dade Shouts out to Rozay, cause no matter what, I’m staying Self Made. Your use of multi-syllabic rhymes is great and the lyrics are pretty tight. I'd just worry about how much of the lyrics you devote to weed on it, unless you're aiming to be a weed rapper or whatever. Also a good idea for a hook is a bunch of vocal samples put together to make a sentence and some scratching.
childish gambino sounds like an idiot. you guys ever feel beats/lyricists like this lack substance? here's my contribution.
No substance? You serious?
No substance? You serious?
Using that song to prove me wrong is laughable. Childish Gambino raps are just that. Childish.
