It's free.
Well worth the listen if you want something different but explosive as hip hop is.
Shit Snoop and Nas did a private concert with the Roots. Pitbull and 50 cent are playing the same gig but fuck that shit.
this has been in on my ipods most played for a while .. I love these kinds of songs, like even though it's justhim rappin' about kid nappin' a bitch and shit .it was written so sick.. and the chorus is nice as fuck.. reminds me of tyler the creator's blow shtyll
I didn't really like relapse :/
I hated it when it came out but i like quite a few tracks now, especially underground. I kinda think its better than recovery now.

Relapse was kind of overkill on the slim shady persona. But the music was still enjoyable imo, I haven't found the enjoyment in Recovery though, I'll have to listen to it more to get what it's about.
I heard it once and it felt overproduced and very distant from the Marshall Mathers from 8 Mile.
I didn't really like relapse :/
Why? I thought relapse was a great album.
Eminem went pop. That's really what it comes down to. He's got Jessica Simpson in one of his songs ffs. Rihanna is on another if I remember right.

I think he gives ross far too much credit
[editline]6th February 2012[/editline]
and I like rick ross by the way, I just don't buy that anyone actually believes he is a drug kingpin anymore
I hope you read the whole thing, 'cause that's not all that I got from it!
And how? It's not like Rick Ross, sat down and planned the double hustle thing, but that's not what the writer's asserting. He's really only saying that the fact Rick Ross refers to his invented persona in his braggadocio raps is significant. And the history of persona's roles in hip-hop were insightful. It really brings things in perspective when you talk about a rapper's "authenticity".

I did read the whole thing
Rick Ross has songs that work on two levels. They work first on a surface level: if you believe that Rick Ross is a drug dealer—even if you believe that he’s actually “Freeway” Ricky Ross—the songs work as no-frills coke rap, just as they have to in order to be commercial. In interviews and public appearances, Ross adheres to this version of his persona. But the songs also work on a meta-theatrical level: Ross is both performing, and commenting on his own performance. If you know about the correction officer photos, and know that Rick Ross knows that you know about them, then whole new layers of meaning appear in the music.
See the bolded part, does anyone actually believe this? He's trying to present him as being incredibly cunning in balancing these two personas but the way he initially tried to deny the CO photos suggests differently
It was interesting on the whole but he makes lots of assertions that he doesn't back up
For example "Yet audiences wholly rejected the idea of the Beastie Boys as satirists. Instead, they took the three MCs at face value, believing the characters they played in the “Fight For Your Right” video were accurate representations of themselves." Says who?

Maybe I'm wrong but I did get the impression he thinks it's been a conscious decision
Eminem went pop. That's really what it comes down to. He's got Jessica Simpson in one of his songs ffs. Rihanna is on another if I remember right.
It wasn't actually Jessica Simpson in that song, it was some canadian singer i'm pretty sure.

Quick question, what do you guys think of Don Trip? I honestly think he's pretty damn good.
We the american working population hate the fact that eights hours a day is wasted on chasing the dreams of someone that isn't us
And we may not hate jobs
but we hate jobs in general that don't have to do with supporting our own causes
We the american working population hate the nine to five day-in day-out
When we'd rather be supporting ourselves by getting paid to perfect that past-times that we have harbored
based solely on the fact that it makes us smile if it sounds dope

...yes it's the vocal sample. I don't think it's the drum or the bass giving me chuckles :v:
