kendrick lamar is supposed to release one tomorrow i think
Rick Ross is the reason why Monster is my least favorite track on MBDTF. That's saying a lot when he's only on the song for like 10 seconds.

Monster contains the only Nicki Minaj verse I legitimately like
The irony is that that verse is all about how amazing and sought-after she is even though she doesn't have any albums out yet
I think Nicki Minaj is a better rapper than Wayne.

yeah but the meta-joke of kanye west sampling himself makes up for that times ten

I always wished Ross had a longer verse in that, his voice really fits the beat.
The entire intro just feels anticlimactic to me. I get excited at the intro, then Rick Ross just kinda drops the ball. He doesn't seem nearly as pumped as everyone else on the track, and that combined with just the drums as the beat just feels bleh. I would have formatted it differently.
I'm not in any way saying it's a bad song, far from it, MBDTF is my favorite album, but it's the only song on it that I have a problem with.
In other news, Rapgenius.com just called Das Racist "wack hipster rappers"
Maybe it's a response to this line.
Kool A.D.: RapGenius.com is white devil sophistry

rap genius is the whitest website ever
Rapgenius seems quite pretentious most of the time.

I thought he was great on devil in a new dress though
I thought he was great on devil in a new dress though
IMO he outshined Kanye on that track. I'd listen to Rick Ross a lot more if he used soul instrumentals instead of Lex Luger etc.
I don't like Rick Ross 'cause he's completely fucking faking his image. He was a fucking correctional officer, not like Freeway Rick Ross.
I am listening to 2 Chainz new album now. It's not that bad...I lol'd when I heard the Tom Lehrer sample.

I get what you're saying, I think TH89 posted a pretty interesting article about that a while ago. Still, he's spitting and I can't really hate on that. Just as long as he doesn't claim he is really a gangster I'll take his shit as fiction.
EDIT: It was Pal not TH89 my mistake.
I know a lot of rappers bullshit around about killing people, selling drugs, etc but ffs Rick Ross is just fucking over Freeway Ricky Ross.

the whole verse "Every day I'm hustlin" was Freeway's catchphrase....
It doesn't matter really, whatever.
I'm about halfway through the 2 Chainz album. I wasn't really expecting much, and I got what I expected. It's a nice thing to at least check out but it isn't special in anyway, imo.

since when was being or doing literally what you rap about required?
it's transparent it's just a persona, but that he does it so elegantly is nice.
Next you'll be telling me eminem doesn't actually beat prostitutes and murder people
I already said I understand that rappers have personas but he's completely stealing this guy's lifestyle and pretending to actually be him. that's the fucked up part.
that and I just don't like his rhymes.
he fucking rhymed Atlantic with Atlantic and Noriega with Noriega.
edit: not to mention the HUH in every song
he's completely stealing this guy's lifestyle and pretending to actually be him.
WHAT??? I don't even. Have you heard ever heard of Nas as Escobar?

gj you cited a rhyme on his first album which had weak lyrics. he's gotten better since. so much so it seems like he has a brilliant ghostwriter now.
wow sorry I dont have such good tastes as u m8!!!!
I just don't like him
