Bonus: Hammerfall

I would've listed 50 if I could
1. XTC
2. Guns N Roses
3. Queen
Epica
Delain
Kamelot
Gorguts
Pink Floyd
Maudlin of the Well
It's not easy choosing 3
Even though I don't listen to Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor anymore, I feel like he has provided me with so much artistic and philosophical influence. I idolize his work for being scatterbrain and not adhering to the standards of music. Radiohead also has an amazing library of work as well as a great philosophy towards music.
At this current state and time, my favorite three "groups" (seeing as Nine Inch Nails is a one-man band):
1. Nine Inch Nails
2. Radiohead
3. The Flaming Lips
When I write music and listen to music, I want something interesting. I want something that breaks down the walls and showcases what music can be through the act of making damn good music.
I'm an alternative rock/folk rock boy myself so:
1. Okkervil River
2. The Strokes
3. Neutral Milk Hotel
1.Gridlink
2.Buzzov*en
3.Pig Destroyer
I really like music that displays multiple emotions well. Weirdly enough it turns out to be all metal bands that do it well for me.
1. Daft Punk
2. Moby
3. Björk
Pantera
Machine Head
Sepultura
---
3 is too little so I shall give 7.
Sabaton
The Beatles
Andrew Jackson Jihad
Pig with the Face of a Boy
Alvvays
Russkaja
The Strokes
Primus
Deltron 3030
Gorillaz
Tough choice.
Currently I'd say in no specific order:
Swans
Brand New
Big Black
The Strokes
Black Keys
Florence + The Machine
Fear Factory
Boards of Canada
Akira Yamaoka's works (Silent Hill soundtracks)
Judas Priest
Nine Inch Nails
Fear Factory
Mogwai
Toe
Kids These Days
Five Finger Death Punch
Gorillaz
Hollywood Undead
Yeah, I feel like a weirdo but I don't give a fuck that's my music taste :v:
Modest Mouse
Mastodon
Say Anything
green day
linkin park
placebo
[sp]Daft Punk
Theory of a Deadman
Slaughterhouse
If we're strictly speaking groups and not one-person-musicians[/sp]

It's worse when you don't understand why everyone else around you hates Nickelback, like me.
Motley Crue
Kongos
Imagine Dragons
Creedence Clearwater Revival
The Doors
Daft Punk
The Rolling Stones
