Make sure to stop by the playgrounds; I went there when I was little and they had slides that were made out of stone and they were so fast that I flew off the end and fucked up the back of my leg. Make sure to get a little kid though so you don't look creepy while doing it.
i saw once on 9gag a video of some dragging on your ass contest (in Japan of course) with some chick, i would recommand keeping an eye out for such things
I do find it hilarious how you get some Japanese folk and even the authorities giving you the funny look unless you stitch a Canadian flag to your backpack or bag. They suddenly become a lot more welcoming.
Related:
wikitravel has tons of information about japan. I got some pretty sweet information from there about afew countries. I remember this one british family on the tv who sold their house and went on a year vacation. They ended up in japan for new year's eve but nobody was speaking english with them. They said they wouldnt settle in japan and that it was terrible, and that they got ripped off from alot of money. Next they went to Australia, purchased a van, drove all the way from sydney to the heart of australia to see the big rock. A couple of weeks spent on the highways and they were so tense they actually broke up, the guy stayed in australia and the lady with the 2 kids moved back 2 england lol

Complaining that no was was speaking English in a foreign country is just stupid, especially considering the time they were there, should have learnt the language. Strangely enough we met an Australian guy in an English bar, in Tokyo. he was a dick so its kinda fitting that the dick family moved to Australia
Any of you guys have experience with homestay, if so, know a good place? I want to go there for about a month and hang out with the people there, because my current goal is to live there. Been learning the Japanese language for the past 7 months, so I'd figure homestay would be a lot more fun for me, and also probably cheaper than a hotel for that long.
