Lolita, Dr. Strangelove and Full Metal Jacket are all great. A Clockwork Orange is not that good. I have not seen the others.
Clockwork Orange is beautiful.

I can't believe how unpopular the film is here. I was laughing my dick off all the way through. Some may perceive that as wrong but I class it as a black comedy.
I've seen Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange and The Shining, and they were all spactacular. I'll probably watch 2001 sometimes in the near future. Stanley Kubrick is a great director.
Dr. Strangelove is one of my favorite movies of all time. Every little bit of it is hilarious, especially the names.
Dr. Strangelove is my favourite of the Kubrick films I've seen. I've only seen that, Spartacus, Full Metal Jacket and A Clockwork Orange, though.
Watching Lolita at the moment. It's a lot better than the remake. Peter Sellers is batshit insane in this.
Eyes Wide Shut and A Clockwork Orange are among the greatest films I have ever seen.
It's official. This man shat masterpieces.

Your avatar. I'm taking it; I'm sorry.
I can't help but roll my eyes when I hear people saying that "Christopher Nolan is the next Kubrick".

who's been saying that? no one can be the next kubrick
kubrick is kubrick, end of story. no more kubrick films will ever be released

Despite you bumping this thread like a idiot, I feel that Stanley's popularity is decreasing. Christopher Nolan isn't even near Kubrick's greatness, rather away from it.

Who even says that? Nobody says that. It seems like that might be the reason you think he's overrated. Their film styles are nothing alike at all and I've never seen anybody compare them before, maybe you just know some really stupid people?
My favorite director, I have seen all of his movies except for Lolita, Spartacus, Eyes Wide Shut, and his earlier documentaries from the 50's.
This is how I rank all of his films that I have seen, but I liked all of them.
1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
2. A Clockwork Orange
3. Paths of Glory
4. The Shining
5. Full Metal Jacket
6. The Killing
7. Barry Lyndon
8. Dr. Strangelove
Very interesting person as well, it's always fun to read about him or watch documentaries about himself and his films.
A took a Sci-Fi class in school, the main reason I signed up for it? We got to watch 2001. (also the other English electives sounded really boring.)
i do not think eyes wide shut was a very good movie
Brace yourselves, everyone.

What makes Nolan and Kubrick great is they've developed a unique style of movie making. Nolan is no Kubrick, Kubrick is no Nolan.
Kubrick lived locally. A guy at school spoke to one of his cleaners. The guy was a screwball. He had a massive wardrobe and only one outfit. Like 10 of the same outfit. There was something else too. He may have burned them after using them. Not sure it was so long ago we discussed it. He did propper weird shit. Was really OCD and hard to talk to. It's amazing how a personality like that, despite the odds, goes on to massive success. Could happen in no other career than the arts.
1. Barry Lyndon
2. The Shining
3. 2001
4. Eyes Wide Shut
5. Clockwork Orange
6. Full Metal Jacket
7. Dr Strangelove
8. Lolita
Haven't seen spartacus, lolita is listed bottom there but it's still really good and they only get better, love this guy
