I couldn't get the Paul McCartney 12" single for RSD, they sold out of them :smithicide:
But I did pick up the Rocky Horror SOundtrack on vinyl and the RSD exclusive Ringo Singles boxset
omg
apparently boards of canada released a 12" on RSD, but only released like a good 10 copies

Teaser for new album yes please

new album ready, out in june apparently (would take with grain of salt obviously, although they did say on their facebook new album would be in 2013, so I'm edging towards BOC release this year, for sure)
Apparently 6 vinyls were released across the world, each contain a different number sequence spoken through a vocoder, the numbers match up to some sort of code and this will tell us the release date or some shit

Got this today, and because I'm a huge goof my Inception Vinyl should be arriving soon.
Went to the Death to All Tour last night and was somewhat surprised that they were selling some Cynic merch there. I suppose it's not too surprising since the two main members of Cynic were playing in Death.
Cynic are one of my all-time favorite bands, and I was super excited to see that they were selling vinyl copies of their first album, Focus, which has been out of print since 1993 or so. I can't find anything online about a repress, but that must be what it is since the lyrics sheet has a sort of retrospective about the album on it.
They were selling signed test pressings of the record, which were hand numbered. Mine is 44 out of 100.

Just after I woke up and I was prancing around my apartment naked, the doorbell rings.
Maildudeman brought me this:

OMG
I also got a ballin' Zozobra poster with artwork by Aaron Turner, and a Hydra Head Records sticker.
Damn, old vinyl is cheap in the US. I paid like $8 for Fore! (Huey Lewis and The News) yesterday.
Hey guys! I recently got this neat hi-fi thing (oh god I really don't know what to call it, it has tape decks, a really good radio and a phonograph) and wanted to ask a couple questions
[t]http://puu.sh/2COWA[/t]
picture of the turntable here
-Are there any sites that sell replacement parts for these things and ship worldwide? (I'm in Argentina) I'm missing the tape deck belts (broke off, I have one if I need to measure it) and I'd like to get a new stylus or cartridge (is it normal for the cart to have plastic screws? That don't really turn and instead bend and deform when trying to turn them? :v: ) I do have a store that sells replacements nearby but I haven't checked it yet and knowing my country the stylus/cart replacements are probably really shitty and cheap.
-This thing is nasty cheap (the turntable is thin plastic, everything else is thin plastic) and I hear quite a bit of noise (have to turn treble quite a bit down to actually enjoy music), is there anything I can or should do to improve it?
-Where can I get a kit to clean records, and are there any homemade alternatives?
some of those might be answered in that image beginner guide but I read like three sentences of it and the jpeg artifacting and tiny font gave me myopia and cataracts
Looks like a tape player/recorder with a radio receiver and an EQ

Looks awesome. I haven't heard it myself but I've been meaning to. Got a download code with it :v:?
Also, I've been thinking of my special white vinyl version of ISIS Live V.

Bought if from Bandcamp so I got the download from there. The digital download is like 10 dollars, go get it.
Oh that's not too bad.

Well I got it from the only record store in my city (that I know of). Old stuff like audio equipement and bit wars era consoles seem to be pretty expensive around here for whatever reason.
They pretty much pay you to buy old cassettes, though. No love for cassettes.

nah, just my shitty country. Importing one would probably cost the same, with the 50% import tax and shit.

Can I even get records shipped from like, the US/UK? I mean, they're pretty fragile and big and stuff. And with the low price they have in those countries most people wouldn't bother shipping worldwide.
of course you can via discogs lol
of course you can via discogs lol
Oh hey, so you can. Shipping charges won't really be much trouble if I order a bunch at a time.
I'm new to vinyl! I know nothing about your fancy e-marketplaces.
now ya do
if i were you i'd find some local record stores and start selling some rare homeland LPs online.
also buying in bulk is good.
Bought a load of Japan/Kate Bush albums, around 10 LPs sent for £35 shipped (same seller). Arrived so swiftly and the packing was solid as a rock. Plus he put the record sleeves out of the main sleeve which is a good idea.
not everyone on discogs ships internationally though, so make sure you check their shipping info before you buy.
a lot of brits tend to not ship outside of the UK
Discog international shipping is particularly good for any of the australian collectors here, absolutely fantastic savings if you find ones that ship internationally

If the shipping wasn't more than the record this would be mine.
What is that?

I bought a new cartridge
I bought a new cartridge
Where did you buy it? I've been looking for places that ship cartridges worldwide, I'd love to get one of those $25 AT ones Amazon sells or something like that. (before you tell me that's a cheap crap cart consider the turntable I'm gonna use it on :v:)
