urghhh, I have this remastered vinyl copy of a classic album and it sounds digitized as heck.. Why in the fuck do people do this. :(
Lucky I have the original... sounds vastly superior.

That's the CD remaster, but now looking at my recent vinyl reissue which I'm 100% sure they used the same remaster. It completely removed the warmth of the original and made it "punchy and thick". :/
p.s.
I have a weird feeling I've mentioned this before (~3 years ago) and it was you I mentioned it to.
no you haven't but i have asked you about other gaye-related things in the past

They weren't, cheapest was tkol ($13), most expensive was summerteeth ($18).
Also entry level is kind of fitting for a start, I'd be shelling some orders online since my record store's selection is pretty grim, I just don't have the means atm.
Dont worry yadda tkol and soft bulletin are fine albums
haven't heard the others though lol, but i have shields on vinyl
dude ive seen some fucking BS radiohead 10" box sets that blow my mind

Anything with pretentious fans will automatically rise vinyl prices is a general rule I find useful
pretentious fans are less important than gullible fans (READ: BLACK KEYS AND BON IVER)
oh true I forgot about gullible fans
[QUOTE=Vedicardi;40800221]pretentious fans are less important than gullible fans (READ: BLACK KEYS AND BON IVER)[/QUOTE]
still laughing at the 'limited edition' version of the last black keys album that goes for like $60
bonver and black eyed keys are very overblown and plain... however bonver's second album is on its way to be slightly goodish.
[editline]27th May 2013[/editline]
for me anyway

WHY WOULD PEOPLE DO DIS?
Yo, people that have Random Access Memories:
Do your copies have this written, too?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jvpiIef.jpg[/t]
And who the hell writes these things, anyway...
Of course its on everyone's. Its not like daft punk wrote that special for one person.

I'm sure they're written on the test pressings and are reproduced with every copy, all of mine have the vinyl's number and label etched on it, and some have short form prose.
Yeah, I had some other guy confirm it was on his as well. But it looks handwritten, is it? Or just some kind of printer...
A lot of 12" singles I've got come with etched messages
[editline]27th May 2013[/editline]
Often it's the name of whoever mastered it, sometimes a message. PENGSOUND001 has "WHEEEEEEEEL!···COS ITS A LOVE THING" on one side and "AND COME AGAIN···COZ ITS A VINYL THING" on the other
My copy of AJJ -Knife Man says "Gathering of the Juggalos 2012 - See you there"
all records have etchings. look up how vinyl is made
uhhhh vinyl records are checked yeah...

this is pretty much on every record ever
Yep, the 'sentimentality tax' is going to kill the upcoming generation of listeners. Where to go from then? The most prominent reason why it's rising in popularity now is because the children from the previous age of listeners have jobs now. It will only decrease from here on in, and will very likely lead to the defeat of physical media, whereas they could benefit in the long run by throwing down copies for 150% profit as opposed to 250% profit per unit. Easily.
I'm lucky enough to get prices marginally reasonable where I am, the tariffs here are absurd even though it's just 225 miles across the border.
ive seen reissues go for like x3 a vg+ original. it's just dumb. stop buy reissues is all i have to say. used records get the store more money typically anyway.
[editline]27th May 2013[/editline]
strangers in the night reissue is the biggest culprit next to pink floyd reissues.

literally x7 the cost of a VG original for the EXACT SAME RECORD. NO BONUSES OR ANYTHING. this record is EVERYWHERE used for CHEAP! FIVE DOLLARS. Why would anyone want a reissue?
okay nevermind it has two bonus tracks fuck you
[editline]27th May 2013[/editline]
deep purple reissue prices are aggravating as well
[editline]27th May 2013[/editline]
nm original press for 6 dollars LOL
