vedi you're being a straight up douche right now
na bro hes just in the ownzone
Are you gonna be alright Vedi?
huh
that's nothing tbh, biggest warp I had in the mail was an actual manufacturing error. the record was more like a wave shape. Maybe I should of kept it.
I don't know how a turntable will damage records just by using it unless it's some seriously shit shit or something is right fucked with the needle.
If there's too much tracking force, the needle will scratch the record along the grooves.
sadness
You can fix small warps like that. I can give you a tutorial if you don't know how already.
Dont know if something is up with record player or what, but its worrying me. I have a Rega RP3 and its been working wonderfully the last couple of months. Today I noticed that in some parts of quieter records I could hear a scraping noise as my needle went over it. Basically it looks as if my records arent sitting flat on my platter, and thats causing the scraping. I thought my record was warped until I noticed it on another record. Could the slipmat cause that?
Well you know what I'm going to the better needle for it and find some makeshift-ass way to attach a penny or two on the opposite side of the tonearm to give it some sort of counter-weight to it. I'm sure that will somehow work and would do less damage than tracking on 4 grams. At least until I can invest in a tt that's a bit better.
The bad thing about the AT-LP 60, is that there is no tracking force adjustment, and it is usually set at a whopping 4 grams, while a typical turntable (The cartridge) tracks at something like 0.75 - 2 grams. If I would recommend a relatively safe turntable for people, I would go with the Pyle PLTTB1 turntable: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PLTTB1-Professional-Belt-Drive-Turntable/dp/B00009V3TU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379827638&sr=8-1&keywords=pyle+turntable Yeah, it's not an audiophile turntable, but for the same price (Or even lower) than an AT-LP 60 and the features of great turntables, you can't beat the price.
There doesn't seem to be many reviews of this. I'm nearly open to anything after my lp-60, but have you had personal experience with this one? I'm seeing a couple discussions about an uneven plastic platter and a not good stock cartridge.

found a good deal for a used Stanton T52B. If I can sell this LP-60 I'm going for that.

I've been contemplating on picking it up.

Has anyone purchased records off Vinyl Pimp before? It seems like a pretty decent alternative to Discogs but I haven't heard much about it before.
Has anyone purchased records off Vinyl Pimp before? I meant as an alternate place to get second handle vinyl online, I'd rather purchase batches of records from one seller so was just wondering how good they were with things like shipping/etc.
I meant as an alternate place to get second handle vinyl online, I'd rather purchase batches of records from one seller so was just wondering how good they were with things like shipping/etc.
Since it's a shop, you've got a guarantee since you can just visit them to give em hell in case they screw you over. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] oh wait you're in australia? yeah you've got no hope. You'll be spending more on shipping than records, I'd just go local.
Almost certain I've bought stuff from Vinyl Pimp through Discogs. No issues, but Ak'z said you'll probably have to pay bare shipping [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] Haven't bought much in a while, I picked up Liquid Swords a few weeks ago. Some dubstep bits, ordered a standard version of PengSound004 and ended up with a special edition version, with a numbered insert. The record shop that sold dance music which is sad. Need to get back pon the decks, my mates running a night and said I could play but I haven't done any mixing in ages.
Getting used to paying more for shipping than the records themselves anyway - still far cheaper than buying locally 90% of the time. It's getting harder to find decent dance/electronic wax here and when you do it's about $20 for a 2 track 12" [editline]2nd December 2013[/editline]
Need to get back pon the decks, my mates running a night and said I could play but I haven't done any mixing in ages.
I've been doing a vinyl only residency for a few months now, pure Dubstep/Garage/Grime business. Lots of fun, really got me back into buying/playing wax. If you can do it B2B with a mate it helps out a lot, and helps keep the record selections fresh.
I want to have a wall full of big, big, big vinyls
Some recent-ish gets from the past couple months. iamamwhoami - bounty Alessandro Cortini - Forse 1(red) Alessandro Cortini - Forse 2(blue) Haunted Horses - The Watcher Death Grips - No Love Deep Web [t]http://i.imgur.com/7xcAhGB.jpg[/t]
which album do people think is the one to blast away doubts that vinyl is best? [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] fleet foxes' second album just pummles the CD, even though it comes with the free mp3 I never bothered.
Is that Muse:Origin of symmetry reissue any good?

I want to get a frame for it. Or slap someone in the head with the artwork.
Just getting into vinyl, picked this up at goodwill today for $35 good deal? its a Califone 1430K, for built in speakers i think it sounds delightful.
All I asked for for Christmas was a Sean Nelson LP and 65daysofstatic's new album. I really need to get a turntable so I can start listening to vinyls.
FYI: Vinyl is plural for Vinyl, Vinyls is incorrect. The more you know.
