Which versions do you own? I own both and his Opel from Simply Vinyl and they are 110% fine. Also, what is your turntable and cartridge?
I have the Syd Barrett dual album one, which contains Madcap Laughs and Barrett. Didn't know opel was on vinyl, I need to find myself a copy. I love Silas Lang and Clowns and Jugglers. As for my turntable - I don't have one right now, I used a friends which was portable, probably not of good quality. I'll buy a decent one and let you know if that changes anything, when I bought it it was supposedly in ex. condition. It looks great too.. And if I played it on 45rpm it seemed to not skip. Maybe it just needs a clean or something. edit: Here are some photos: Also, If anybody can help, I want to identify what pressing this is.. Ie what year. I bought it for 25 dollars, the guy told me it was original. Doing a little research just based on the cover it looks like 1968, but I'm not sure. Really Records sent me another limited edition white record today, and as far as I know, I only ordered one. Neat.

(Album)
The records seems in great condition. It's more than likely the shitty turntable. It can also be invisible skips in the vinyl itself (A couple of my records are plagued by this). Save up for your own non-shitty turntable, and go enjoy it then! Also, for your second question, I would check Discogs, It lists every copy of the album, and it's current price. Looking at that release, It seems that it is worth about $11.00 for an alright copy, and at least $45.00 mint. [editline]4th January 2014[/editline] Just put a new JICO SAS stylus on my M97xE, and it sounds absolutely fantastic!

I'm thinking about getting one too altough they are rather expensive.
Picked up these 2 today Thee Oh sees Purifiers II EP The Dream EP
Probably around £100?
I would go used. Anything that has a counter-weight, anti-skate capabilities, and a switch to lower/raise the turntable arm would make a fine turntable. Search around places like Craigslist, eBay, local thrift shops, and record stores. A few good brands I would look at are Technics, Onkyo, Dual, Kenwood, and Phillips. Price wise, it was equivalent to the Ortofon 2M Blue. However, I've heard from people that it sounds much better than the 2M Black, Ortofon's . To be fair though, the Ortofon and Shure cartridges have different sound characteristics, and I have not tried any of the Ortofon cartridges myself.
The one thing I don't like about my turntable is there is no automatic turntable arm. It makes it quite annoying stopping songs midway through.
The one thing I don't like about my turntable is there is no automatic turntable arm. It makes it quite annoying stopping songs midway through.
Your TT doesn't have a little lever that you can switch up to lift up the arm?
It does not, I double checked the Amazon page to make sure I wasn't just being an idiot and one of the cons listed was no automatic cueing. I guess I should've checked that a bit more.
yo i wouldnt place your speakers like that though, you want to not place them to close to your turntable. preferably not on the same surface either. vibrations from your speakers could cause your records to skip if youre playing at louder volumes or listening to something thats more beat-heavy
my turntable is well away from the speakers, even footsteps around it won't affect the sound. I used to keep it on a desk but then when someone a metre away walked past, it ruined the sound...
I moved one speaker about a foot to the right because it was directly behind my laptop. Now it sounds much better and loud sounds don't nearly affect the sound as much. Accidentally slamming the shit out of my knee into my desk as I do on occasion, however, causes severe skipping. I want to find a place to buy bulk records for cheap, like 10 cents a piece, just to have. I only have like 7, one of which is a dupe.
Picked up the new remaster of In Utero the other day. I am surprised about how good it sounds. Please keep this up record industry.
So I got an Akai amp from a friend with epi speakers. Two questions; what do you call the kind of output from the receiver that you can push bare wire into, press the button and it locks it in place? Also, I noticed that my right speaker is only humming (and can only hear it barely when the volume is up): I found that the hot wire into the amp looks a little black. Is my speaker ok? I'm assuming the wires didn't stay together and shorted or something?
nice, that's the BacktoBlack vinyl thing right? i've had a copy of that for 3 years. still sealed, not heard it, is it good?
No, it's the 20th anniversary DMM Remaster. I've saw some fantastic reviews and decided to give it a shot, and it sounded fantastic. Came with 3 LP's. The first two were the original album that runs at 45 RPM, and the last LP are bonus tracks that spin at 33 RPM. I found it strange that they would have the first two at 45, and the last at 33, but whatever.
My dad gave me his collection of records and a record player. I now have a mint condition original copy of the Rolling Stone's Goat Head Soup complete with the poster.
I meant like this i.e you press the button, stick the bare wire in, unpress button so it stays in place.
I think it's called a terminal, correct me if I'm wrong

I'd kill for that Fugazi album. I was in Salt Lake City yesterday and drove within about 10 feet of a record store, but me being busy and helping friends out prevented me from getting anything. Total buzzkill

Anybody know how hard it is to find Kevin Ayers albums? Ie Joy of a Toy. I could order it online but I am curious to its rarity in stores
Opened up my Opeth Ghost reveries LP today, bought it half a year ago but never listened to it. It's miscolored (black "dirt" stuck in the vinyl (It's Brown normally)) and will skip pretty much every 10 seconds on each song on both sides on both vinyl 1 & 2.. :( I Love ghost reveries so this makes me sad. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Fusvcv5.jpg[/t] Any way to save it?
Any way to save it?
Contact manufacturer, they may still replace.
Contact manufacturer, they may still replace.
Yeah they're sending a new one for free.
