i can't have energy drinks anymore though and i need to heavily reduce my amount of caffeine that's already a bad omen though :scream:
[editline]2nd January 2017[/editline]
my sleeping troubles are so bad that i couldn't do shit without loading up on caffeine and now i can't do that anymore because i had some kind of mild heart attack or something after drinking way too many energy drinks in an attempt to stay up during new years with my friends
Me and my brother were playing Mario Kart 8 online and one of the other people playing was Adam Sandler.
[editline]2nd January 2017[/editline]
Fuck you Adam Sandler from Undertale
Goodnight, friends, acquaitances, strangers! Hope tomorrow will be a delightful day.
Good god that pc building I finally undertook was a disaster. Before I started I saw PSUs were on sale on newegg, and knowing the the psu was the only part of my pc that I wasn't replacing and the it was over five years old and thus should be replaced soonish, I went ahead and bought one. I figured I could just make do with my current psu so I set it to standard delivery. After shit went wrong at literally every step, I finally got my pc built and went to connect the psu to everything. Only to discover the cord didn't fit into this new mobo and there was no other cord that would. I quickly went back to newegg and tried to change the delivery time on the psu i bought earlier but it was too late.
So now im without a computer for the next like week or two. And that's assuming I didn't fuck anything up during building.
FUCK

pc building is hell when you don't know what you're doing but the accomplishment you feel when you finally finish it and boot it up and see it all come together is cathartic

Understatement. When I started I knew reattaching the psu (which wasn't modular) would be a mess so I decided to label all the cords so I'd be able to keep track, but I wasn't expecting to see nonsensical shit like this when I opened up the case

I have seen hell and it is a non-modular psu. God why was it even done like this, I wish I was paying attention when my friend built this for me like 5 years ago lmao

If it makes you feel any better, my video card got fried (albeit replaced with a better one), but now my monitor has a dead pixel.
even after building like 5 PC's from scratch and spending at least a day doing so i still forget to plug in the motherboard sometimes :v:
[editline]2nd January 2017[/editline]
also i'm still way too gentle and half the time things don't fit or i can't remove them because i'm too afraid to pull harder or push harder
[QUOTE=~Kiwi~v2;51612202]if thats actually how your setup is now...
[B]REMOVE ALL OF THOSE[/B]
use one of these or two of these actually

Yeah I already figured that out. I wasn't the one that built this and I have no idea why he did it that way.
Everytime, when im about to turn on the stove,i always scared because i expect that thing will explode on my face

Being gentle wasn't an option for me. Both my gpu and ram sticks refused to go in the first twenty times, and this shitty metal back plate kept blocking my mobo from lining up correctly. For some reason it had metal parts sticking into the case where as my old mobos metal plate had a cushion on the back for easy installation. They're both Asus mobos so I have no idea why they decided to change that but it was fucking stupid of them
I hope I didn't fuck anything up but without a psu now I have no way of knowing. I hope I'm not just waiting two weeks for a psu only to find out my pc is dead now

As long as nothing physically snapped off or got ground down in the process of you trying to jam them in there you'll probably be okay. I've had issues before like that, where the I/O plate would fuck up my motherboard and have it be off by like 2 mm so the screws wouldn't go in, or the plate was stupid and had a few mm too much space so my graphics card wouldn't go into the slot.
It's a pain in the ass but even after all this trouble you're going to feel total relief when you're done. Good luck.

That reminds me, I still need to install my other 2TB hard drive into my current system.
Now if only I could remember which cables I need to plug in. :v:

this one, which goes into your motherboard and your hard drive

and this one, which gives power to the hard drive

Just for additional info, they're called SATA cables. In case you don't have any of the top ones laying around and need to buy new ones. They're pretty cheap.
The bottom SATA cable is the SATA power cable which I'm pretty sure all PSU's have at least a few of.
