I watched 4,5,6,1,2,3 and enjoyed it, the original trilogy is such more entertaining to watch anyway.
Because he says it out loud in episode III. And it's only 3p0's memory. But then how come R2 forgot how to fly? And droid kung fu. He forgot that too.
I read somewhere that R2-D2's memory wasn't wiped, because its only flight droid, unlike C3PO who was susceptible to let slip information.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. This is how things are supposed to go and it seems Lucas intended for them to be seen this way. I guess you won't get boerd while watching because you don't know what's going to happen. When people watched 4, 5 ,6 and then watched 1,2,3 they spent an awful lot of the time waiting for a key event to happen. But it didn't. 123 are full of nothing relevant to the viewer who enjoyed 456 until the end of 3. But for you, a new viewer, it may be interesting to see how things work out by watching them in order. Go for it, could be interesting. 456123 You will got ridiculously bored during 123 because you already know exactly how things will happen because you have been told 100 times. You will also get the best of the series out of the way first. Watch them 1-2-3-4-5-6 and you will see them in a way we never saw them. Also they get progressively better and 5 and 6 are probably some of the best films ever made. Watching 456 first will result in boredom when watching 123.
1,2,3,4,5,6 That way you can end it on the best one. And officially end it.
4,5,6, and never speak of the others again.
I voted on the timeline order. 123456. I am with Dan, as he said you will get bored. because the original movies (456) already spoiled what will happen in the new ones (123). Sadly, it looks like 456123 is winning. You will have an AWFUL experience
4,5,6, So you can look at Darth Vader as a character of Pathos than a whiney bitch.
It seems everybody is ignoring that I already watched all of the movies before. I know exactly what happens, i've just never watched them in any proper order
456123 You see the how great the original movies are and then watch as lucas cocked it up and made it slightly good again. [editline]12:52AM[/editline] Or so you understand the fanboy rage.
Watch the original trilogy first, then the new ones. In the new ones, there are quite a bunch of references to the older ones, as has been said, and you'll just have a better idea of what's going on in general.
As they were made. 456123
4,5,6 then play Knights of the Old Republic
The CGI in the fuckup version of the originals is really fucking annoying and really ugly. I also hadn't seen them all, so I bought an old VHS boxset this week (17p) thinking it would be best to watch it as it originally was, but lucky me - I bought the first release of the CGI-ified version. Only watched A New Hope so far and I don't know if it's because it's an old CGI-ify version but there still seemed to be 90% practical effects apart from the exterior shots of the fighters in the Death Star battle, pointless screen noise in the Tattooine scenes (Why the fuck did an establishing shot need a couple of droids hitting each other on the head? And another to signify the barreness of the area is suddenly HERE HAVE A LOW-POLY ALIEN WITH A STORMSTROOPER SIX TIMES THE SIZE OF THE REAL ACTORS ON IT). Also the replacement of the criminal with an out of place Jabba. Not only does Jabba decide he'll go and have a chat with Han personally for no reason, but he also doesn't give a shit when Han steps on his tail - that's right folks, the criminal overlord of the entire planet doesn't mind if some guy he's paid to have killed just walks right over him. I wish I could find an original VHS. Am I right in thinking they re-CGIified it in 200* just to make it worse/tie in more with the prequels? (I'm watching them 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3)

Episode 1 is a special edition that has a 35mm 5 frame snipping included in it, and 2,3 are both normal copies.
What are you guys talking about? Episode One is one of the greatest movies of all time! /sarcasm
Seriously, this is what you do. Ep.1 can fuck right off. With Ep. 2, you should watch all the way through to where Ani and Padme leave to go hide. Do yourself a favor, and for the rest of the movie, skip every seen they are featured in together, except maybe the wedding. This will not only make the movie shorter, but it cuts out A LOT of dead scenes (scenes that don't go anywhere). What you're left is with a semi-cool noir mystery. It makes the movie bearable to watch. Ep. 3 is ok. Watch it, but ONLY if you're going to watch Episode 4/5 right after. Episode 3 is like a shot of nasty tequila: not fun to take but needed to get the job done. Episodes 4/5 then become the beer chaser, necessary.
4 5 6 That's all you need, that's all anyone needs.
Technically you should go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 That way the whole story plays out. I always thought of 1 2 and 3 as "flashbacks", because it was of a grander time, with CGI jizzing everywhere. Too magical. 4 5 and 6 are the legit Star War's.

(I'm watching them 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3)
Yeah that's the worst part about the new effects. They don't actually improve any of the shots that genuinely don't fly anymore. They just add pointless shit like those fucking droids. Or worse replace one of the most beautiful shots in the whole film with some sort of video game shit*. And yeah, it was overhauled again for the DVD (like that fucking Hayden Christensen ghost in 6. That DVD ain't never touching no player of mine). George also decided to fuck up the colours. Which is terrible because if there was one thing the original Special Edition did fucking well it was the colours. They also used some sort of automated "clean up" program that basically fucked the image in the ass a whole lot. Lasers that don't glow, lightsabers that turn green, stars that are smeared to hell. People who have bright red skin. Just terrible.
Or worse replace one of the most beautiful shots in the whole film with some sort of video game shit*.
What part was that? One thing I think you might be talking about is the end of 6 where they put in tons of pointless shots of street parties and skyline shots entirely done in CGI?
4,6,2,5,1,3
What part was that? One thing I think you might be talking about is the end of 6 where they put in tons of pointless shots of street parties and skyline shots entirely done in CGI?
I quite liked those.

But when Luke gets that TIE fighter on his back, before Wedge saves him, there's this amazing shot of Luke's X-Wing and the TIE fighter hovering in space as the Death Star speeds past below. That shot isn't there any more. It's probably the last shot in the whole sequence that needed replacing it looked so good. It's surrounded by some pretty awful ones too they didn't even touch. That just confuses me.
4,5,6. There where no other ones.
Hey guys, skipping 1,2,3 isn't an option on the poll. You aren't witty or cool for saying it after 20 other people did.
It's not being witty or cool it's saying they were awful prequels in a lot of ways and probably not worth watching.
And I've said that I've seen all of them already, and that I want to watch them all at once, but I can't decide if I should do timeline or production order.
just watch ep 1 and be done w/ it the rest are shit.
456123? Hell to the no. Thats like starting a book in the middle, reading to the end, then reading from the start to the middle? Who would do that? I high recomend watching it in order, 1 to 6. It makes a lot more sense, and when I did it last week, it actually seemed more awesome?
