I know I said it in the message, but I want to make sure you know this. When you receive my application, it may come through more than once since the SMTP server I use is having some troubles.
Did you send it before the deadline?
I would have applied, but I'm a noob. I've been a good mod on other forums before, and I'm sick of assholes, but meh. I'm lazy.
Can i have mod plox
I still want to know if mine got read. I am sad.
I still want to know if mine got read. I am sad.
I'm sure he's reading all of them.
Moderating is fun when you have the power, but then responsibility kicks in and you've gotta keep your ban quota up.
I don't think "ban quota" is quite the right idea. It's not like the mods are out there every day looking for x number of people to ban. If you're an active member and you browse FP a decent amount, taking action where required as you see fit, you'll do okay. Oh and checking the reported posts every so often and taking action there, you should do that to I guess.
MOD TEAM, GO! I can see it now... Hezzy as Captain Planet!

I applied but i doubt I'll become a mod, BUT you never know miracles happen! Ahhhh just realized the apps closed, this blowsss.
I applied but i doubt I'll become a mod, BUT you never know miracles happen! Same goes for all the others who "doubt they'll make it" because that's just the worst type of attitude to have.
My love for Facepunch is only paralleled by my love for masturbation.
I still want to know if mine got read. I am sad.

And it will be done when it is done, I have 230+ applications to read through and I have a 3000 word essay to be handed in on Thursday. It will not be done this week.
This is why.

Emails regarding the second stage will be sent out within the next 12 hours - I will post again when the emails have been sent out
I'm excited, good luck to everyone.
I hope the new mods are not bad that wouldn't be good.
I just hope whoever he picked will do their job, the Facepunch section needs some cleaning up.
The return of the idiotculls will be a day worth documenting.
I didn't think Hezzy would get through all those applications this quick. Hoping for the best!
207/335 to go Doing them at a rate of about 20 an hour, varies a lot as some of them are long and others aren't. Some require a lot thought regarding whether or not they should be put through, others don't. Some trends I've been noticing are;

Applicants saying they've moderated forums, then said the forums have disappeared since. A LOT of applications say this. I think so far there's only been two people who are currently moderators on forums, neither of which are anywhere near as big as Facepunch.
Loads of people quoting experience in game server moderation
Large amounts of 13 - 16 year olds applying.
There are actually a lot more females on Facepunch than I initially thought. They just don't say they're female when they post.
A lot of applicants citing internet encounters as their "difficult situation"
Many applications tell tall stories or contain information that has been blatantly fabricated in order to make the application look better. I would prefer that people be honest - that way I can pick the best applicants to be a moderator. Lies on applications are counter productive to the well being of the forum which is what Moderators are there to promote.
Pick me so I can ban people and shiz.

Hey that's about it!

Aw shucks, I would've applied for this if I had noticed it. Oh well, guess I'll wait until next time. :(
so far out of the 130 odd applications i have been through, i have picked 44 to go through to the second stage
You should make a list of applicants who have failed
You should make a list of applicants who have failed
I'm sure he's going to post a few examples of a bad apps.
hezzy this is so much more work than just promoting mods at random and letting them run around like children waving their dicks at people and seeing which ones do well and which ones fuck up like, really man
It's a sham. I e-mailed him and told him how I saved my coworker at Wendy's from gallons of boiling oil and I didn't get moderator. Lol, I saved someone's life. :smug:
