What do blazers go well with if you're striving for a casual look?
if you're going for a casual look, use a lighter colored blazer and a plain tee that matches
I think a good casual look with a blazer would be a white graphic tee, a medium gray blazer, and your standard dark wash jeans.
i fucking hate blazers with graphic tees, personally
What do blazers go well with if you're striving for a casual look?
Blazers are excellent for casual wear, I would suggest matching one with a nice Henly or V-Neck, and a set of jeans. My personal favorite blazers are; Navy, Charcoal, Camel Hair, and a subtly patterned tan one.
i fucking hate blazers with graphic tees, personally
Depends on the graphic tee. I like minimalistic tees. I want to get a good blazer from H&M but I'm saving up for a car. Unless I can get one for under $100 I'm probably not gonna try. Anyone have any input?
This is my favourite top ever. [img_thumb]http://media.topman.com/wcsstore/TopMan/images/catalog/71F66CWHT_large.jpg[/img_thumb]
Sure if you want to look like a raging virgin in denial, whatever floats your boat.

But I know that most new blazers will be at least $70. (Although, the blazers I got thrifting are like new, and they all fit wonderfully. I got them for anywhere between $7 and $15 each.)
The last time I got a blazer was for $20 at Gap but they don't have a clearance section right now. Haven't been to the local H&M yet. Well, once, but I was just seeing, not buying. :v: This is kind of the outfit I was thinking of. (ignoring that he has no shoes) That blazer is also $60 on the H&M website, so I'll stop by H&M on Monday I guess.

so it's 60F where I live, and these pants already have a hole in them at knee level, I decided to make them cutoffs. Go to stab scissors through them (not wearing them), and I cut my finger open. woops. had to drag them over with my foot and put them on with 1 hand so I could call my mom into my room :( worth it? ignore the shirt
That's an awful fit.
No, it is stupid to have a skin tight blazer like above because very few people can pull that off, the reason that looks nice is because the dude wearing it looks nice. You will come off looking like youre wearing a girl's jacket if youre not careful.
worth it? ignore the shirt
They look nice, I enjoyed the story as well.
I too prefer them under a blazer. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fMIlW.jpg[/thumb]
For some reason, it seems like your blazer is too long. How tall are you? Have you tried seeing if S blazers fit you better? Also, I suggest getting one tailored since your chest isn't very large. The blazer fits at the waist but looks baggy around the chest, no bueno. Also looks too big at the shoulders. Methinks you need to go down a size or two.
That's an awful fit.
I think it looks a little odd from the angle its at, but it isn't too bad.
I think it looks a little odd from the angle its at, but it isn't too bad.
As far as I see, the sleeves are too wide and the midsection is too. It looks more like a shape of fabric than it does a sportcoat. Could be the angle, though.

I have a blazer that is a size down and it fits nicely, although the sleeves are a little on the shorter side. I also have made plans to get two coats tailored (this and another one) when I have the cash to do so.
The blazer I posted hardly looks skintight, yours looks a few sizes too big.
The sleeves stop at the wrists and the jacket hem stops at the about mid crotch. It simply is a bulkier blazer then the one you posted and that one would be skin tight if he decided to button it limiting his options with it.
I think it looks a little odd from the angle its at, but it isn't too bad.
It's impossible to tell how well a blazer fits when it is unbuttoned. It's an absolute travesty when people wear blazers unbuttoned. You have to realize that blazers are designed to be buttoned, the only time they are supposed to be unbuttoned is when you're sitting down. Leaving one open while walking around completely ruins how it is supposed to fit and almost always makes it look like it fits badly. The only people who can/should wear blazers unbuttoned are very large/muscular people. For example, Sylvester Stallone in the latest Rocky movie wears one unbuttoned but it looks fine since he has a gigantic chest. Skinny people have no business doing that unless they want to look like a woman.

Unfortunately, blazers don't look well when buttoned and with "casual" pairings of shirt and pants.
How much is a tailoring? The blazer I got from Gap awhile back needs one.
Depends on what you need done. Sleeve lengthening (most jackets have a bit of cushion in the seams so they can be lengthened/enlarged to a small degree) and shortening is very inexpensive, no more than 10 bucks I'd say. Slimming the midsection on the sides and back always runs me around 35 bucks. Changing the shoulder width is nigh impossible, if you can find a tailor who can do it then it will easily run you over 100 dollars. Really depends on the tailor as well. Mine is a guy who doesn't advertise or anything and operates via word-of-mouth, a business partner of mine referred me to him. Whether that means his work is more or less expensive, I have no idea. I just know he does a fantastic job. Also, Tailoring is always a good choice. It doesn't matter if the tailoring costs more than the jacket itself, a well fitting jacket looks and feels like a million dollars. I'd take a perfectly tailored Gap jacket over a poor fitting Versace one any day.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/gBgGz.jpg[/thumb] My favorite coats and my favorite ties to wear with them. Also, ignore the closet, it has some old clothing/ clothing from siblings that is never worn.
I really want to get a tweed blazer.
