Trust me, I don't take offense to that. I actually got an elliptical machine for Christmas and am down 5lbs so far. I aim to be substantially slimmer come springtime. I'm tired of being single :v:
Most difficult part so far is keeping my motivation up, but that's just because I'm not used to it.
Just think about how much better off you will be once you've improved yourself. Exercise holds some of life's best lessons, because mastering your own body is the first step to mastering your life.
Think, the way you interact with the world has so much to do with your physicality, why let your physical shape get in the way of your interaction with the world? It just limits your experience. Wouldn't you love to be able to climb Mt. Everest?(i would) well if you master your body you can.
The best way to fight weakness is with strength, and if you can defeat yourself(the one holding you back) there is nothing stopping you.
Got any tips? While I feel motivated enough for the time being, I'll accept all the help I can get.
Uh. My motivation is all the fat/large people I see at school.
And my dog is fat so I need to run him more. He gained 10 pounds. What a fatty.
It's late and my brain is broken right now. I can PM you actual tips in the morning if you want.
My biggest concern is that I'll fall out of the habit in 2 weeks when I go back to school. I'm trying to come up with an end goal to motivate me to just spend the 30-45 minutes a day.
fff me too.
But like honestly I can't even really make a goal since I'm not trying to lose or gain weight
I just have to have someone constantly riding me about it
Motivation?
You'll live longer.

Is me yelling at you not enough?
Makol you look so different than I expected.

Point taken. Going on a hike without feeling out of breath by the end would be nice.
Is me yelling at you not enough?
No because I had to get like three other people to keep tabs on me too
one isn't enough lol
Makol you look so different than I expected.
Did you expect Steve Jobs?

Seems like sound advice.
I find it if you work out long enough, it'll be easier to keep the schedule going. It's the first few days that make you want to stop
No because I had to get like three other people to keep tabs on me too

But I can yell really loud.

Starting out I think the best way for me to stick to it was to tell lots of people and define specific goals.
Really would hate to tell all these people I wanna get bigger and stronger and fail to do that.
Did you expect Steve Jobs?
Of course. Clearly your name is Steve Jobs. Name change to iMakol now.
Of course. Clearly your name is Steve Jobs. Name change to iMakol now.
But I own no Macs! unless my parents' and brother's Macs count.
Also. What were you expecting? :v:

I'm starting to think I need better friends. Nobody I can think of (outside of family) seems like they would care enough to keep me going.

Yeah because if you fail you just don't let yourself down, you let them down too.
If you want to stay skinny and you're on the computer 24/7, it is possible. I do it, I just take a little break once in a while and do an exercise when I get bored.
It's another story when you're overweight trying to get skinny.
I actually wish I had someone to walk with me. I think that'd help me stay on track. But my dog is an 11 year old chihuahua and she gets tired after 10 minutes of walking, so she's not a decent partner. And my parents are normally too busy, as are any friends I have (who, I don't think any of them work out anyway).
I'm hoping to get a new puppy soon though. A large breed of dog that can be my walking partner. I'm positive that it will help me stay in shape.
I have a tip:
In my experience, waiting for the best time of the day to work out is a bad idea. If I waited for everything to be completely optimal, I wouldn't be working out every day, let alone twice a day.

I thought the same thing too when I got my dog. Waling/jogging/running partner.
But.
I lost weight and he gained weight. Oops.

Well I have no problem staying skinny.
But my bones aren't exactly healthy since I'm not bursting with calcium due to my lactose intolerance and so if I don't move them for a while, they end up hurting when I DO move them. So yeah, I'm doing what you said and taking breaks every now and then and doing stretches and walking and stuff.

A big nerdy dude. :v:
Also, Pascall, I'd walk with you, but that's a long way to travel just for a 30 minute walk.

Oh I don't care what the weather is like. I just go out at the same time every day because people are home and I don't have to lock the door behind me and it's not quite dark yet. I don't have very good night vision so I like to go out when it's still light out.

The odd thing is that I lose weight remarkably fast (4-5lbs per week when I was surfing, it's insanity) when I'm exercising regularly and have cleaned up my diet. I just have a hard time sticking to it.
A big nerdy dude. :v:
did you just call me fat
I saw a Steve Jobs look-a-like at a Starbucks a few days ago. I was recovering from a hangover (starbucks in the morning is awesome for this), and this dude is sitting near me talking on his phone about Apple. I swear he could've passed off as Steve Jobs, I started thinking about how he might've faked his own death :v:
Kinda off topic but I remembered this after Deeps mentioned Steve Jobs
did you just call me fat
Yeah, sorry babe.
Yeah, sorry babe.
oh
well I guess being 6ft and 177lbs is fat
you got me there

Well, I guess it's just because you're like, way better at computers than I expect most skinny dudes to be.
EDIT: I made the hair convo public: https://www.facebook.com/DrDeepsOVER9THOUSAND/posts/220840647997929
It didn't go over well.
