i don't know why you guys hate long hair so much
it can work fine
I agree with you! But I think that it takes a certain face and clothing style (as well as hair style!) for it to work. And, unfortunately, I think that most people don't have those qualities, and try to make long hair work with their face, or with their style, and it ends badly.
without seeing full length photos it's quite hard to tell - it may be that it's fine!
you can't really just take one rule - it depends on the whole body.
the poster that said that the jumper was maybe too much has a point - though i'm biased (i very rarely wear anything under my jacket - get far too warm!)
but you're doing far better than lots of fix up people
You are very right.
And I'm flattered. Thanks so much for the kind words guys!
I'm really inept when it comes to wearing plaid shirts and my friends picked up on this when I first wore one I recently bought a couple days ago. So, what should a plaid shirt look like when it is worn properly? Also, any patterns/colors I should avoid when I choose them?

I'd like to know this too. I saw a nice Guess one but it was a yellow color, not flashy mind you but I wasn't sure if it was a great idea to buy. Then again it was only 20 bucks so I maybe should of...

Wearing plaid shirts is like wearing any other shirt, I can't see how you could be inept at it
maybe your friends are just assholes

if you like a shirt and it fits well just wear it with plain trousers and shoes and it'll be fine!
i don't know why you guys hate long hair so much

you need to take care of it, something that 90% of men don't know how to do (100% of them think they do)
it takes a rather specific kind of face
not everyone likes it, and it may give a wrong impression, but you probably know of that risk if you want long hair
it limits you a lot on stuff like hats

I only have this one, but I want to start wearing more of them going into spring.

They said something about it not sitting right on my shoulders, mind you I had to get it in fitted large because of my shoulders.
Ahaha, I see, sorry about that! Its actually a sweatervest, as I was feeling a little cold, and I wanted to put something on that wouldn't destroy the outfit. Oddly enough, I don't own a normal suit vest.
Thank you, by the way!
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
I see! What kind of alternatives would you suggest for the hair?
(The glasses are going to stay for at least a year, so I'd rather work with what I can)
Also, for reference, this was me last spring;

I think I've made quite the improvement.
personally, if I were you, I would mess the hair up just a little (while keeping it short) and lose the glasses.

Yeah, my tartan is bright yellow, so when I wear my kilt I feel like everyone is watching. I now wear a different variation of the Macleod tartan.
Scottish fashion all the way!
I found some Gucci sunglasses on the ground on the way to work, good condition too, still wondering if it's unisex or womens, me and my brother are split on it.
Dunno if someone's already answered this for you, but most Gucci sunglasses are unisex. Some of them have more masculine/feminine traits though.
Hey do you guys know where I can get some high quality plain colored tee shirts for an alright price? Like maybe 10 bucks a piece. I tried those Mossimo shirts, but they're too thin, and you can see my skin underneath them. I need a shirt about as thick as a Hollister shirt for reference.

You could try the tees they sell at Old Navy. Comes in loadsa colors and if I remember about $8-10. They're fairly thick and feels nice too.

I've been seeing a lot of shirts like these that have a button near the sleeve to hold it.

I was going to recommend Structure, but apparently, they no longer exist.
I will second the Old Navy idea.

Cheapestees.com
Look for Canvas, Anvil, and AmericanApparel labels on the shirts. It's by far the cheapest wholesale t-shirt site I've been able to find.
about to order a cart, what do you guys think about these;

yes? no?
No to the american flag shirt
hory crap what's with you guys and cardigans, they look effeminate as hell imo
you could pull the same look off and maintain your masculinity with some proper flannel
I, for one, find there to be absolutely nothing wrong with cardigans on men.
I love cardigans. Although some designs are a bit iffy, I like them in general.
I for one think that cardigans generally lend the appearance of saggy body shape. They're for old people. I don't think they look effeminate, just really damn unflattering, so matter how trendy they are.
This doesn't apply to all cardigans obviously, just 95%
The one above is kind of alright, not liking the collar much
Does wearing a plaid shirt, similar to this:
and jeans, make me seem like a hipster? My friend has been making hipster comments about the outfit :v: It strays from my usual "sweatshirt, sweatpants, logo shirt" look, so I thought it looked good.
Tell him he's a tool
Even when using hipster incorrectly as some derogatory cover-all term, how the fuck does it apply to a plaid shirt
you look pretty alright well done.
the jacket looks a bit weird - seems a little too long to me
When you take these pictures
Could you at least stand in front of that cat picture

They look really good if you pull it off correctly.
That was @ Grasp, idk why I quoted mike

alright, how about this for a shirt instead;

I like this one.
got some chinos for my birthday
they're like a perfect fit though - which scares me, because being chinos, they're cotton, and I don't want them to shrink. Are they going to? Like, bad?
The brand is Dockers by the way. They're the same hem length and waist size as my jeans. (34x34)

Well I can fit two fingers in between me and the pants but it's a tight fit. Don't know if I should exchange for a bigger size. I feel like a 36 would be too big
Why are three-piece suits so rare to see nowadays?
They're so much cooler than two-piece :c
