What is the difference between all those knots?
RustySpannerz;34287465']What is the difference between all those knots?
The size and the shape of the knot itself is changed and how much of the actual tie you use. Like for example, the four in hand has a thinner knot than the windsor knot, with the windsor looking a bit thicker. And depending on your face shape, the right knot can greatly complement your face. Left to right: Full Windsor, Half-Windsor, and Four-in-hand
RustySpannerz;34287465']What is the difference between all those knots?
They have different shapes and sizes. Hard to tell in illustrations like that, but for example, the windsor knots produce a thicker knot. It sticks out from the chest more. I've always used the Shelby knot because it's low profile, it doesn't jut out from beneath your neck, drawing less attention to the tie. Also has to do with the material of the tie. Traditional silk ties are thin and work well with most knots. Thicker ties made out of wool or the super thick 7-fold ties (made out of a single large sheet of silk) can't be tied into knots like the windsor because they'd just be too huge and ridiculous. At the end of the day, for the average joe, the knot doesn't really matter at all. It can make a difference in the right situations though. Most businessmen have knowledge about the subject, so if you show up for a corporate interview with a Shelby knot, they'll probably be impressed. The Shelby knot is a classic "manly" knot, used by male news anchors and whatnot back in the days when they were like Ron Burgundy. Ninjad. Damn.
imo I think you have too much a "nice guy" thing going on. I'm not suggesting you should go out and get a leatherjacket, but does anyone else think Cittidel would look better being just a little bit less "conservative"?
Ohh you, that was from the same day as my last 'conservative' picture. I don't always wear a sweater, my style is pretty limited though. I have a few v-necks aside from button-up shirts that I wear but that's where it ends :|
(I know it's not really your choice to have hair like that Cit, but I'm 100% certain you can play your hand better than you do currently. Look at say, Jude Law. I watched the first SH yesterday and noticed that he has a receding hairline with a really prominent widow's tuft thing at the front, but he looks pretty awesome with it.)
Haha, it actually is my choice to have it like that, I like it. this is ugly as fuck, although I am open to suggestions.. I used to have it in a fauxhawk I'm going to a concert tomorrow.. anyone have suggestions on what to wear? I was thinking of just a black v-neck, jeans and converse.
all of that, but not the converse because fuck converse
all of that, but not the converse because fuck converse
Converse slip ons are really great though.
all of that, but not the converse because fuck converse
While I have your attention, WHAT SHOULD I GET BESIDES CONVERSE? I have went from store to store looking for shoes but always end up being disappointed. I kind of like these. (Also, kind of these from earlier in the thread) I live in the USA, Oregon to be precise so I can't really get access to foreign brands like Diesel. Also, would a white v-neck be alright as well?
vans are good shoes, i personally like the 106
why would you shun converse and then recommend vans they are in the same tier
why would you shun converse and then recommend vans they are in the same tier
That's kind of what I was thinking, I see people wearing both of them interchangeably. It's good to get an idea though because I've only worn Converse forever besides a pair of black and white Sambas.. What do you wear? Edit: Right now it's either [thumb]http://a2.zassets.com/images/z/2/0/1/9/5/5/201955-p-2x.jpg[/thumb] or I'm not really a fan of the 106's, but I feel like I definitely need a second pair of shoes?
For Bowties. I feel badass knowing I can tie ties and bowties now.
trust me, having seen that picture does not qualify you to tie a bow tie! it takes lots of practice. i can tie one and even so when i have to it usually takes me a couple of goes to get it how i want it.
Haha, it actually is my choice to have it like that, I like it. I used to have it in a fauxhawk
I meant receding (which limits what you can do with it I guess) And sorry but I don't really understand why you like it done the way it is Also that picture obviously isn't the sort of thing I meant, the URL is Jude-Law-Bald; if you were going to shave it I'd keep it closer than that. (That said, I still think doing that would be a cut above what you've got going now) Something like this:
no to both of these especially the first
You should try and suggest something or explain why. You're talking to someone with limited knowledge of shoes. MakoSkyDub: it's super late, I'm heading to bed but I'll reply in 8 hours or so.
vans are good shoes, i personally like the 106
vans suck converse rule
vans suck converse rule
that's like saying walmart sucks kmart is better.
no its like saying the superior shoe is the better shoe which it is
no its like saying the superior shoe is the better shoe which it is
This is so true. If you're 10 years old.
Converse are made on a fucking shoestring and hyped to death by kids Wearing no shoes would be superior to wearing them
trust me, having seen that picture does not qualify you to tie a bow tie! it takes lots of practice. i can tie one and even so when i have to it usually takes me a couple of goes to get it how i want it.
Sup A bit wonky but I'll probably get better once I get to tie it more.
converse are pretty good but vans are better
Sup A bit wonky but I'll probably get better once I get to tie it more.
it's a bit blurry but i think that's probably improvable without retying - while the knot looks a bit twisted you should be able to even up the actual bow without undoing it, just experiment with pulling on the ends - i find it easiest to put my index finger through the looped one so it can move around my finger then gripping the two single thickness ends and then manipulating it
vans suck converse rule
Converse shoes are for kids.
no no no guys don't start putting stereotypes on clothing/shoes.
Converse shoes are for kids.
Doctor Who wore converse and he's over 900 years old. Terrible example, but seriously.
no no no guys don't start putting stereotypes on clothing/shoes
To be fair Converse usage drops off after high school pretty sharply
no no no guys don't start putting stereotypes on clothing/shoes
You mean I can wear a fedora and not look like a greasy nerd??
To be fair Converse usage drops off after high school pretty sharply
To be fair i have only seen kids wearing Converse shoes. Really.
I wore converse when I was like 15/16 and then decided they were for young teens
You mean I can wear a fedora and not look like a greasy nerd??
Lets not count fedoras.
Lets not count fedoras.
supreme? obey? sandals? crocs?
