Did I say I burn 2500 calories? No. After I gave up trying to gain weight I've only been eating like anywhere between 1100-1600 calories a dayand my weight is stable. So clearly I do NOT burn 2500 calories a day being a vegetable.
Dude you need so much more. I swear before I started downing 3000+ I used to be stable at like 130lbs clocking in a similar calorie count.
I'd bulk with actual food.
What are some good foods to bulk with then? Preferably stuff that isn't too expensive
This food discussion has been dragging on for a while, can't you guys just stop
The milkshake that I made, on it's own, had 1500 calories and 40g of protein. Then, using normal food, i'd get at least another 1200 calories and 30g of protein throughout the day. I doubt i burn anyway near 2700 calories.
Some people react to excess calories by subconsciously moving around. Like me, if I eat a lot I bounce my legs up and down when I'm sitting (I do it even when I don't eat a lot but more so when I do) without thinking about it. It burns a lot of calories, so that might be what's happening. Long story short, even if you think you're eating enough if you aren't gaining weight you aren't eating enough (seriously, you aren't. You can say you are all you want but you're wrong). If you really want to gain wait, eat until you physically can't eat anymore.
If you want to gain wait, eat more calories than you burn. And if that doesn't work(which I guess it didn't), go to your local GNC or nutritional supplements store and pick up a tub of mass gainer and drink that in a shake once or twice a day. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what will.
This food discussion has been dragging on for a while, can't you guys just stop
Why? It's not like they're belittling anyone. I don't see a problem.
We're all trying to gain weight here for fashion. The size L - XL are the only shirt sizes I find in the UrbanOutfitters sale sections. Gotta cop dat

Gaining weight for skinny chumps V6
We're all trying to gain weight here for fashion. The size L - XL are the only shirt sizes I find in the UrbanOutfitters sale sections. Gotta cop dat
I hate that. Everywhere I go nowadays seems to only have sizes above Medium, which kills me when I find something I like.
What are some good foods to bulk with then? Preferably stuff that isn't too expensive
High calorie food, but like, not shit food. Peanut butter is pretty decent, bananas have a good few calories too, pasta, nuts, just start reading the nutritional information on the side of the boxes. The higher the calories the better for gaining weight (and lower amounts of calories from fat).
If I start bulking up and working out, 60% of my wardrobe will fit me :v:
I hate that. Everywhere I go nowadays seems to only have sizes above Medium, which kills me when I find something I like.
I mostly find XS, S, XL, and XXL. It's pretty shit considering i'm either a M or an L depending on the piece.
What are some good foods to bulk with then? Preferably stuff that isn't too expensive
Eggs, beef, nuts, yogurt, etc. High cal, low cals from fat, high protein.
Did I say I burn 2500 calories? No. After I gave up trying to gain weight I've only been eating like anywhere between 1100-1600 calories a day and my weight is stable. So clearly I do NOT burn 2500 calories a day being a vegetable. If I burned more than what I ate I wouldn't have been a stable 105-115 pounds for the past 8 years, since I've been 14. Althought I suppose i technically 'lost' weight since i've gotten 3 inches taller and thus my BMI has gone down.
Are you fucking serious? Try eating 3000 calories a day for a month. Count the calories in everything you eat. If you don't gain weight, go see a doctor.
Dude you need so much more. I swear before I started downing 3000+ I used to be stable at like 130lbs clocking in a similar calorie count.
I eat the same amount of calories I burn. When I was trying to gain weight I was eating twice as many calories as I burn. Seriously, you goddamn people, I know what I am talking about. Do you think I am a fucking retard and have gone 8 years without studying and learning about this? I QUIT SCHOOL because I couldn't gain weight, that should tell you how obsessed I am about the subject. You'd think reading everything you could about something for years would make you quite the expert. It's easy to assume somebody is an ignorant dolt, but then again it's not like anyone here KNEW that I've studied this religiously since I was 14, so nevermind my red-faced rage rant and don't take it personally.
Eggs, beef, nuts, yogurt, etc. High cal, low cals from fat, high protein.
just for gaining weight protein doesn't really matter, if you were trying to build muscle then yeah. But if you're trying to not look like a twig just really eat whatever as long as it's not complete shit
If I start bulking up and working out, 60% of my wardrobe will fit me :v:
He said this, so I threw protein in. Edit: And to Glitch, don't neglect the arms.
Are you fucking serious? Try eating 3000 calories a day for a month. Count the calories in everything you eat. If you don't gain weight, go see a doctor.
Please actually put some effort into reading. What I said:
After I gave up trying to gain weight I've only been eating like anywhere between 1100-1600 calories a day
Meaning, i was on a high calorie diet for quite some time, then gave up and went back to normal diet, and have stable weight, thus eat as much as I burn. What you think I said:
I've been eating 1500 calories a day why can't i gain weight baww
So why did you stop the high calorie diet and how many calories were in the high calorie diet? Did you calorie count on the high calorie diet?
I eat the same amount of calories I burn. When I was trying to gain weight I was eating twice as many calories as I burn.
I'm not doubting your research here but is this even possible? Everything I've ever read has told me that if your caloric intake is higher than what you exert you WILL gain weight. I've never heard otherwise.
I think your lying now
Well, every other day, since I started worrying about my weight, I've gone on google and spent the day reading every link I saw, from reliable sources at least. No homeopathy shit or anything. [editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
So why did you stop the high calorie diet and how many calories were in the high calorie diet
Actually read my posts, all you asked about is answered in them.
actually, I'm pretty sure Pascall said she has trouble gaining weight too.

I know your 1100-1600 calories a day is a maintenance thing

I eventually assumed I have a tapeworm or some issue with my intestines that make them absorb things poorly, or perhaps my intestines or too short.
I don't know. If what your saying is true though there might be some sort of medical thing going on.
So I was growing out my hair cause my girlfriend wanted me too but now that she's gone I'm thinking of going back to my clean cut self. This is my hair right now, and this is what I look like with short hair: What does facepunch think?
I'm actually trying to lose weight lol. But gaining/losing weight isn't really that complicated. Eat more/less what you usually eat and lift weights to turn dat fat into muscles. I say those who are looking to be fit should visit the 'Witness the Fitness' Subforum and/or look at the sticky at /fit/, which I shall just paste right here.
