Not anger. Revenge. A life for a life. And a message to those who would harm people who could not defend themselves.
In self-defense.

let the legal system hand out the consequences.. we don't need vigilantes.
I would. I have a specific person in mind too...
I think under the right conditions. But no probably not normally.
Same here.

The legal system in Canada has concurrent, not consecutive, sentencing. And no capital punishment. Someone could rape a hundred women and kill a hundred children, and he'd get 25 years in prison.

revenge involves anger..

You're really telling me that if you had a gun in your hand and you were alone with someone who tortured and killed your family and lover, you wouldn't do a damn thing?
I'm talking about the legal system in CANADA, again. Read.
Oh, they technically could get out. Plea bargaining, good behavior, all the rest of it.
ITT: internet tough guys pretending to be badass.

it's called self control.. of course I would be angry at the person but I wouldn't go all Jigsaw on him.
and no, someone who rapes and kills 100 people is not going to get out.

At the very least, my friend, I'd put a bullet in his head, consequences be damned. That, I think, would not be murder.

you can't just shoot people like that.. it's murder and you would be arrested for it.
and I don't know much about Canada's legal system, but why would they let a serial killer/rapist out?
Preeeetty sure it would, buddy.
Legally, sure. But there are circumstantial aggravators and mitigators in law, and that one's a big mitigator.

See: Karla Homolka.
See: Karla Homolka.
she killed three people and pleaded guilty to manslaughter through a plea bargain. that's the prosecutor's discretion.
a person who killed 100 people isn't going to get the charge of manslaughter.. and they would be sentenced to life.
Easily.

Oh, what she did was far worse than just murder. Read carefully the details of the case.
If i had to yes, but i would feel like shit the rest of my life...
I could kill a human doing.
Oh, what she did was far worse than just murder. Read carefully the details of the case.
I read it, but the prosecutor's decided to give her a plea bargain so that's why she was released. That's the prosecutor's fault. The mastermind of the crimes, Paul Bernardo, was sentenced to life.

We did a detailed case study of the crimes. Videos of the rapes and murders were later found which showed Karla, along with her husband, laughing and smiling at the terror and agony their victims were in.
Tell me, what do wild animals do to those who threaten their mates or young?
If it was someone that was going to kill me then yes.

I already know the details. I've read material on it have watched documentaries about the case.

They protect them and we're allowed to do that too as long as we take appropriate measures. But shooting a person who murdered your relative has nothing to do with protection. It's vigilantism.

I still find it hard to believe that you wouldn't seek revenge if someone you loved very much was killed in cold blood, and without a good reason. I don't think very many other people here would just let it go, either.
With a shovel? Hell yes.
Protecting others ofc...
I kill plenty
