I've seen Spirited Away,Kiki's Delivery Service,Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Howl's Moving Castle
All are awesome
Just finished Kiki's Delivery Service. Charming movie.
It really is isn't it?
Is Studio Ghilbi still in financial trouble? iirc they might be shutting down.

aw, here it is http://blog.moviefone.com/2010/09/22/studio-ghilbli-to-go-out-of-business-if-next-film-fails-at-the-u/
The problem is that they don't advertise as much as they should over here is the states. I didn't even know Ponyo came out until a friend told me a couple months ago. Ironically, I can remember when Spirited Away came to theaters but it was sold out
And yes Princess Mononoke was the best movie followed closely by Castle in the Sky
Just curious, did anyone see Tales From Earthsea? What did you think? I went to a screening in NYC during the summer and everyone including me thought it it was terrible. Miyazaki's son has a long way to go before he is as good as his father.

My favorites are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Ponyo was pretty good, too.

guess who voiced sousuke
Well, this thread has seen better days. Certainly a blast from the past.
Anyway, I finally got around to seeing The Castle of Cagliostro. And it was, indeed, a good movie. The characters were interesting, the action was great, the story progressed well, and animation didn't look too bad, either.
Hayao Miyazaki: The Japanese version of Walt Disney.
I'm probably going to get castrated for this, but I thought that Spirited Away was a bit too silly at times.
Maybe it's just me.

Maybe I should have watched it as a child instead of judging it from a 17 year old's point of view; I'm sure I would have liked it a lot more.
I watched it first, when I was 17 as well. It is very silly, that is true, but it's kinda the point of it. It throws away most things that are overly serious, and tells a good story. Come to think of it, it's not very silly at all - and can be to an extent, be called one of the more realistic movies of Miyazaki (well, if you dismiss all the magic). It's very light hearted as well, so the silliness adds to it.
