yeah idk why they stopped that its fucking gay I might ACTUALLY phone them and ask
I think you should do that and report your findings :v:
I'm changing my vote to York actually. I'm a bit bored of visiting London, especially since It's not convenient to drive there
But if it's in London I can go! [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
This one's going to be in London, another in Edinburgh. Would it not be a good idea to compromise and meet half way?? (Manchester)
We just did manchester, twice infact. After the 23rd
But if it's in London I can go! [img_thumb]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img_thumb]
get bus to london and I'll take you with me there in my pants
get bus to london and I'll take you with me there in my pants
Well I'd have done that for Manchester if you didn't go up Thursday
This one's going to be in London, another in Edinburgh. Would it not be a good idea to compromise and meet half way?? (Manchester)
Edinburgh a familiar place for me, that's why I'm going.

York is in the middle, albeit a bit to the right.
Well I'd have done that for Manchester if you didn't go up Thursday
well next time It's YOU I'll be basing my plans around
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
by plans I mean dick
London is nicer
Manchester is closer
Decisions decisions

But yeah I wouldn't mind the long journey if I had company it's just for Manchester I was looking at like 8 hours by myself in which I'd die of boredom
Could anyone trustworthy provide me with a place to crash in case I get cheap plane-tickets? Nowadays you can get tickets for like 50 bucks, it's not much more than what you pay for a train and I certainly would do that if I know enough details in advance.
Only if it's London though.

I could come down to yours for a day or two and we could have a pre-meetup, kind of like the one at marks. Then we could all drive up to York! And then you can just be stranded in York with no way of getting back :v:

Yeah that would be cool, my parents amazingly don't mind forum people and said people are welcome to stay over if they want/need to
What's the best website to get quotes for train tickets, the ones I am looking at are going to be like four hundred pound each return tickets, yet I only live three-four hours away in the car D:.
This one's going to be in London, another in Edinburgh. Would it not be a good idea to compromise and meet half way?? (Manchester)
York is slap bang in the middle on the main train line between those two cities
I have money this time :v: I could probably come, but that would cost me somewhere around 3 driving lessons or the actual Practical test. I don't know how much money I'm going to need for these damn lessons so I can't spend much without shitting myself.
Hence why I won't come. Some day, some day.
haha, i totally agree, southampton, means i have to walk about three steps to the meetup
Still enough time to get stabbed if you go via Eastleigh / Shirley, Bournemouth is best meeting place instead (and it's only like £5 return train)
do it in bighton

sounds kinda dumb to be honest. What's wrong with both? Anyway they probably won't be at the same time so it's plausible to go to both.
Many thanks Gestapo.
Walsall [WSL]
London Euston [EUS]
58 pound for two adults, not bad and will only take two hours.
That's one way, 83 for a return for two adults.

I understand that, I'm just saying that Manchester is the biggest place in between the two most populated areas in the north and the south. I don't think it's dumb to be fair

Biggest but not necessarily the nicest. I think York would be a lot nicer for this.
I'm just thinking purely for activities, as far as I know the main reason people come to meets isn't to enjoy the scenery! I am not familiar with York so I wouldn't know what there is to do, plus as far as I am aware it isn't on the main line

Hello I am a friendly York resident and am going to list things to do in York
-Historical stuff (museums & shit)
-Go to the top of the Minster
-Do the ghost walk (if we stay until night)
-Go to White Swan Pub for lunch and have homemade speciality sausages and ale
-Chill in the museum gardens
-Walk to the ice rink if it's in its usual spot, get a cheap bus to it if not
-Hang around and watch all the batshit insane street performers (like the electric violin guy)
-I may be able to get in touch with my astronomy buddies and have them open the historical observatory in the museum gardens for the day
-Walk the bar walls
-Railway museum (not free for non-residents though)
And here's the article for East Coast Main Line
Termini: London and Edinburgh
Stops at York
Come to York we need the tourism
oh and there are nice shops too, like a spice shop where you tell them what curry you want to make and they'll sell you a blend of spices to fit the recipe
Nottingham, we can vandalise the robin Hood statue.
I really need to move to the UK after college.
