My 20 year old VINTAGE pedal bike can reach 45m/h. I'll be right
I'll give you three hats for it and a reclaimed!
By then most cars will be run with eletric engines or hydrogen...hopefully.
Buy or steal some self defense, people will be looting anyway so why not?
Buy or steal some self defense, people will be looting anyway so why not?
.. Steal some self defense? Why did that make me think of anti-ballistic missile launchers? SELF DEFENSE IS SRS NUCLEAR BUSINESS.
We already have a car that runs on air. In 20-30 years we won't need oil.
Use synthetic oil
No oil = lack of energy and we are going to be unable to create plastics. Industrial countries will probably plunge right into complete chaos.
We already have electric cars. Thread is over.
No oil = lack of energy and we are going to be unable to create plastics. Industrial countries will probably plunge right into complete chaos.
Bioplastics. Made of flesh. Actually its made of corn. But whatever.
To people worrying about the Plastic, etc. that Oil is also used to make: we can already make plastic out of organic materiel like corn, palm nuts, etc. Gas would be replaced by hydrogen or electricity or whatever they come up with. Lubricants, well, same as plastic. The British used palm oil during the industrial revolution, we should be able to do the same.
In 40-50 years time I'll be either 54-64. So I don't really give a fuck, I'll jus' be chillin' like a badass in a retirement home asking who my children were.
I'll probably laugh at stupid politicians because they only allowed a couple of new nuclear reactors to be built. Then I'll go on about being awesome.
No oil = lack of energy and we are going to be unable to create plastics. Industrial countries will probably plunge right into complete chaos.
You mad? We managed just fine before we had plastic and got our gas at the petrol station. [editline]9th February 2011[/editline]
In 40-50 years time I'll be either 54-64.
the joke: whenever we run out of a thing we just replace it example: whale oil, when whales ran out, we started using something different
I see what you're getting at. Grab your harpoons, boys, we're going on a trip. :clint:
It is estimated we have coolected about 30% of the oil in Norwegian waters. If it took 40 years to get 30%, then I'll be dead by the time it runs out.
Oil will never run out. The real problem is that production will reach it's peak, demand for oil will exceed the supply, and prices will skyrocket.
Actually, it can run out. Thing is, before we get there, as you said, prices will skyrocket, etc. Also, alternate fuel sources, start investing now people!
Get a energy powered car.
start new conspiracy theory saying the elite are keeping all the oil for themselves and it hasn't really run out, make millions.
When the oil runs out I will enjoy the fact that I have maggots eating my crotch underground.
Hydrogen will be well established by then. Oil will become like coal or wood is to us now.
I'll do nothing.
Borrow my dads nissan leaf and a solar panel if neccesary
Well of course we're going to transition. People aren't going to die. But the problem remains in how painful that transition will be.
Well assuming I'm not killed in World War III, I'll live luxuriously through the use of my stored several drums and canisters of oil at various forms of distillation I'll have saved by then.
we'll just make more oil...
Hydrogen will be well established by then. Oil will become like coal or wood is to us now.
Really? Can we make roads out of hydrogen? How about Plastic, can we do that? How about anything on this list?
Borrow my dads nissan leaf and a solar panel if neccesary
Oh really? So whats going to lubricate the moving mechanical parts? Your seminal fluids?
Well of course we're going to transition. People aren't going to die. But the problem remains in how painful that transition will be.
I think the transisition will be painful, unless we start WAAAAY before we start hitting a crisis.
I think the transisition will be painful, unless we start WAAAAY before we start hitting a crisis.
That's what I've been reading and hearing. It seems oil companies are going to milk it to the last drop and drop a curtain over our eyes so we keep on buying until there's nothing left.
Use nuclear power, like we should've been all these years.
Use nuclear power, like we should've been all these years.
Are you really that dumb? Are you aware that oil is not just used as fuels, right? [editline]9th February 2011[/editline]
That's what I've been reading and hearing. It seems oil companies are going to milk it to the last drop and drop a curtain over our eyes so we keep on buying until there's nothing left.
its called greed, and it seems that after 7000+ years of its obvious existence in civilization, its not going anywhere.
