Yeah, but the swinging is still fun despite that. It flows well and has a great sense of momentum.
Once I noticed this I couldn't play it at all it literally ruined the game for me
Because its a reboot.
How is that even a reason
How is that even a reason
I really dont know. If thats the case, nolands batman films, and half of the avengers films are TERRIBLE BAD BAD DIE IN A FIRE bad. But they're not, because reboots arent always terrible. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] INFACT. 1977, a made-for-television film directed by E. W. Swackhamer and starring Nicholas Hammond and Thayer David. The raimi films? They're technically reboots. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] And yes, it did have its own series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amazing_Spider-Man_(TV_series) And also japan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man_(Toei_TV_series)
Hey now, some of the best spider-man games didnt have building swinging. [img]http://www.emuparadise.me/fup/up/37588-Spider-Man_[NTSC-U]-1.jpg[/img]
That was the greatest game ever
That was the greatest game ever
Admit monster ock scared the shit out of you the first time you played it as a kid. If you say he didnt, you're lying.
Admit monster ock scared the shit out of you the first time you played it as a kid. If you say he didnt, you're lying.
I had to look him up to figure out who he was, as I never did learn the name of the conglomeration of Doc Oc and Carnage...but yes, he scared the shit out of me, he was terrifying.
There must be a lot of delete scenes. Practically all the stuff the trailer focused on never happened. "If you want to know the truth about your parents Peter, come and get it" - Never happens. Apparently cut so they could use this plot in the game. That scene there. Never happened. Not once. He even appears to have a snout. Infact we never actually saw [sp]Connors transform into The Lizard. It would just cut away and he'd be all scaly and shit. I wonder if one of these scenes actually included a transformation[/sp]. But there's other screens of these scene above that show Spider-Man was there trying to save the guy. Then you got the "Do you really think what happened to you was an accident" line. The general speculation is Peter was to discover his dad did a lot of tests on him growing up which is why he survived the Spider-bite when other subjects died. In which case I'm glad it's cut because Peter Parkers whole life is supposed to be an accident. The spider-bite could've happened to anybody. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb-0KdX9gpc Yeah this early clip that they released and nobody liked was cut too. Probably just as well. Also notice Connors has a wedding ring on in the film. Yet we never see his wife? Well they cast his wife and son and apparently shot some scenes with them but they were cut too. Which is a shame because his family has always been a great part of his character. In the comics it has recently been a main part. So yeah. LOTS of cut stuff. Whoever was in-charge of marketing needs to be shot too. The trailers include a lot of scenes that aren't in the film and even include [sp]the end credits sequence where you can clearly see Connors in jail[/sp]. They also released A LOT of scenes. But the scenes they released were terribly cut up and re-edited. The scene that was released showing Gwen hiding because "Connors is coming to you". Is much longer. Infact while it happens [sp]Spidey has an epic face off with her father. No wonder people are watching the clips thinking the music is jumpy, they're butchered to shit.
Emma stone has nice legs
Emma stone has nice everything
I was going to say that
I prefer her as a blonde. Seems to suit her more.
As someone who prefers redheads over all others, Emma Stone looks better as a blonde. Excuse me, I need to go swoon some more over her
I liked this better than the first Spider-Man film. Just my opinion though. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] I just don't like the new Aunt May... The older one was much more "Aunt May-ish". And I wish they'd bring back JK Simmons as J Johnah Jameson because no one else can play him. [editline]6th July 2012[/editline] Oh and they never outright say "With great power, comes great responsibility" which I was expecting the whole movie for Ben to say.
Me and the group I saw it with agreed the new speech he gave on responsibility was much better and more hard hitting. Sure it's not as catchy but it makes more sense he'd say it. As a teenage boy doesn't have "Great power".
I'd probably give this movie a 6/10 overall
I give it a 9/10 I just really liked everything. Nothing really bugged me (Geddit? Bugged? HAW HAW HAW). Yet there's a handful of other movies I will always rate higher
I LOVE the Raimi films. I also LOVED this. It's done very differently than the Raimi movies, but I feel like both of them had their pros and cons. Garfield was a better Spider-Man, but I kinda liked McGuire's Parker better. Garfield's was more of "that quiet skulky guy" rather than "puny Parker the science geek". I know I'm the minority (here atleast), but that's just how I feel about it. It felt like they were rushing through the scenes that were covered in the Raimi movies, like "yeah, you know what happens, moving on..." Now the things I LIKED. Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, and Andrew Garfield are the standouts here. Each of them played their parts perfectly. Rhys Ifans was pretty good as Lizard (though I wish they hammered it in a bit more that Curt is a GOOD guy who made a BAD mistake). The action was cool, the special effects looked nice, Spidey moved and fought and wisecracked like he's supposed to. All in all, I'd say it's a damn good movie. I love the Raimi series, but comparing the Raimi series to this is like comparing the Nolan Batman movies to the Burton Batman movies: they both have their strengths and their weaknesses, but they're both good, valid adaptations, however different they may be. [sp]Now, for the guy at the end. I know most people are saying it's Goblin (and it probably is), but has anyone considered that it's actually Venom? Notice how he says "WE will leave him alone...". He appears from the shadows, then disappears without a trace. Pretty stealthy for an old man. But IS IT and old man? The Symbiote can alter the wearer's appearance, it COULD have been a disguise. Remember, Osborn is dying. In the Ultimate comics, the Venom Suit was invented by Peter's parents (along with Eddie Brock's parents) as a cure for cancer and other terminal diseases. Sounds like something a dying old man like Osborn could use. And if that's not enough, Ultimate Spider-Man's parents died with Eddie's parents in a PLANE CRASH, caused by the escaped Venom Suit. They were also scientists for S.H.I.E.L.D., so that could easily tie into the Avengers-verse once Marvel gets the rights back.[/sp] [sp]But yeah, I'm betting it's Goblin. Any ideas for who could play him? I'm thinking Mark Hamill would do an AMAZING job as ol' Gobby.[/sp] [editline]6th July 2012[/editline]
-Did you think it was an accident, etc.-
My thought was that whoever was saying that meant that the spiders were MEANT to alter human DNA, so it's not a freak acciddent that he got powers, but it was a freak accident that he got bitten in the first place.
[sp]It's not Norman[/sp] Guy who played Lizard confirmed it. [sp]They say "we" as apparently it's a representative of Oscorp and Norman. It's also apparently a familiar Spidey character. It could be Mysterio. Maybe he wasn't in the cell at all and it was an illusion[/sp] The big rumour is it's Christopher Waltz as he was heavily speculated to be the villian of the film and then never mentioned again..
If I had to give it a number rating... I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. A good start to a new series, but I expect the sequel to REALLY blow us away. This is the point where, if they want to, they don't have to do ANY of the scenes shown in the Raimi movies, this is their chance to CREATE. Here's hoping they get J.K. Simmons back (I've heard they wanted him before they decided to just leave the Bugle out of it as a whole). He's just credited as "Man in the Shadows" and it's not Cristoph Waltz. Forgot who it was, but it wasn't him (could be Waltz in the sequel though, I admit he WOULD make a pretty good Norman, but I'm still a sucker for Hamill).[/sp]
I like how the first few pages of this thread were making fun of how terrible this would be. I enjoyed it. It was better than any in the last series.
It was better than any in the last series.
Will you all please excuse me while I say HOW DOES ANYONE THINK THIS NNNNNYYYAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHH ...Sorry about that. It's just that... I'm not seeing it. At all.
Will you all please excuse me while I say HOW DOES ANYONE THINK THIS NNNNNYYYAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHH ...Sorry about that. It's just that... I'm not seeing it. At all.
I'd say parts of it were better than the first one and it's about equal with the second. But it's not A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN THOSE SHIT RAIMI MOVIES. It's good, just like the Raimi movies were good (except for 3, which was just okay).

It's good, just like the Raimi movies were good (except for 3, which was just okay).
See, I don't even think it's THAT good. Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. This one was just okay/pretty good I guess. I really couldn't even get into it for most of the movie because the pacing was weird, some of the scenes were dumb, the city sometimes felt totally devoid of life, there were a few bits of awkward dialogue (not the good kind), and Peter Parker just didn't seem like Peter Parker. I'd say it's above Spider-man 3, but not on the same level as the first two movies.
I haven't seen the movie yet and I've had my theorizes that this movie was gonna be bad but I've been waiting to see it for myself before passing too much judgement. How ever even though I have my gripes with Movie Bob he's never really pointed me in an awful direction which is why I'm kinda of afraid to go see this movie now. The last time he had multiple episodes to tell me how bad a movie is it was Green Lantern and that movie was pretty damn shit if you ask me. Everyone but the critics love this movie, from what i see.
I like how they made him more realistic.
I liked how they made him move in a more buglike manner like when he was wrapping up Connors in web.
The action and choreography in this was much better in general.
Also, [sp]those poor mice :([/sp]
I like how they made him more realistic.
I really don't see the point of making Spider-Man dark and/or realistic. The point of Spider-Man is to be colorful and fun. But I suppose this new version had to stand out from the Raimi movies somehow. I'm interested to see where they go with this.
