If there's one thing about Spider-Man 3 that I loved, it was that scene where Sandman puts himself back together. Seriously this shit is beautiful. Imagine of the whole damn movie was this good.
My big issue with this whole part was why the fuck were they spinning fucking sand fast?! What is the scientific value of fast spinning sand?!

Top notch security right there.
The ASM Facebook page asked people who their favourite villain is. Pretty much every single person has said Venom. I still maintain the next film should involve the symbiotic suit, Peter working at the Daily Bugle and getting Brock fired to take his job. Then leave pissed off Venom Brock for next. I hope this Venom movie falls through though. Venoms origin is too tightly tied with Spidey to do him before he's been introduced. [editline]15th July 2012[/editline] "Hey, know that character which is basically based on a burning hate for Spiderman? Venom?" "Oh yeah! Eddie Brock? The guy whos chief motivation is rightly deserved revenge and madness" "That's the one!" "Shit people love that guy!" "We should introduce him in the next ASM film!" "No no no no. No. How about we cut out all the Spiderman bit and jump straight to Venom" "Ermmm.. no?" "Well too bad, I don't care about your opinion you fuck. While we're at it let's have Ock with NO arms and Green Goblin who is red and rides a moped"
I just think Marvel has their own statistics and prognosis for the success of a Venom movie. [editline]16th July 2012[/editline] Inner Moral conflict in Spidey 1: - Endangering the woman you love - fighting against the father of your best friend - revege for Ben vs. respect for life Inner Moral conflict in TAS: - revege for Ben vs. the police has their own thing going
Eh, I don't know about that. I still think it would be fucking awesome to have a movie with Venom as the protagonist, and Spider-Man as the "villain", with Venom as an unreliable narrator, constantly portraying Spider-Man as some kind of careless asshole who ruins people's lives. And then Carnage shows up later and they have no choice but to beat his ass together.
The problem with that is that the best part about an unreliable narrator is gone. The most fun about them is that you don't know what is real and what is a figment of the narrator's imagination. Venom? This guy hates Spider-man with a passion that would make many a villain jealous, why would you take anything he says about Spider-man to be true?
My big issue with this whole part was why the fuck were they spinning fucking sand fast?! What is the scientific value of fast spinning sand?!
because super-dumbed down (totally implausible) science is the only way to hold people's attention in a comic-action flick.
I've got this on my iTunes and I've never heard it. Hell when it came up in the movie I had no idea it was Coldplay. Great track.
My theory about the credits scene [sp] Could it possibly be Mysterio? without the Glass dome and what not, that would explain why he was there one moment, then gone the next. [/sp]
Saw the movie, it was okay. Holy balls though the scene [sp]where Peter and Gwen meet in the school hallway after Ben leaves...awkward teen moment for the ages [/sp]
I think the only scene in the movie I really liked was the fight scene in the school. It felt more like Spider-Man than any Spider-Man scene in any Spider-Man movie that came before. It felt like it was lifted straight from Spider-Man TAS or something. It was in the day time, Spidey was jumping all over the place smartmouthing the bad guy (in a way that wasn't annoying) while trying to beat him, etc. I wish the rest of the movie was as good as that one scene.
Especially Stan Lee's cameo. That is up there are one of the best.

The school fight was brilliantly memorable. But as mentioned above I really liked the scene Peter asked Gwen out and everything else. I really liked this movie.
I know this is a big bump and all but I came across this article: http://screenrant.com/amazing-spider-man-venom-harry-osborn/ And couldnt find a amazing spider-man 2 movie thread. It has a good point, and I would love to see this. Especially since the writer of chronicle is writing a venom movie, it could really play out.
I'd like a traditional Venom origin but I do like the idea of Spidey having his Black-Suit in Spidey 2 and then Venom having a separate film. Also Lizard, Venom, Electro, Rhino. Only 2 films in and 4 villains? Hope we're moving towards a Sinister 6 story. All we need is Ock and Goblin introduced in the next film and we got enough.
Would be a hell of a linkup if they appeared in Avengers 3.
I'm worried. I thought the Lizard wasn't given enough time to develop in AS and now we are about to have 3 villains at the same time?
I think Rhino will be a very minor villain. His origin is in the ASM game which is confirmed to be canon. He sorta gets away at the end of the game and isn't seen again. Setting it up nicely for Spidey to briefly fight him at the start of ASM2. Think of how Scarecrow was in The Dark Knight. Which means the only other villain is Electro. Who's the third? All hints indicate the black suit will be involved in the story but not Venom. Harry Osborne will be introduced who could go on to be the future Venom in the Venom film. But there's been no suggestion Venom itself will appear in any Spidey film. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline] Also above their was speculation that the black suit might be at Oscorp and it might be what Parker's dad was working on before he ran. In the ASM game it confirms the black "goo" is at Oscorp and is used to create The Scorpion. The game also notes that Dr Otto Octavius is an Oscorp employee. I seriously think Spidey 3 will be Ock and Goblin. Maybe they'll follow the Spidey Cartoons and make Ock be out for revenge against Oscorp for his accident. They seem to be doing that already with the black suit.
Personally, I want it to feel more like Spider-Man. Make it more fun and less, "I NEED TO DISCOVER MY PAAASSSST." Like, open ASM2 with him narrating, maybe even on the phone with Aunt May about picking up some milk or something, and then you pan out and he's fighting the Rhino. A character like Batman lends himself to a dark crime drama with some heavy action, Spider-Man is more akin to a rollercoaster, in that the action is fast, fun, and colorful. Hopefully they take the brilliant school fight and build off of that; THAT is what this whole movie should feel like.

I'm gonna be a little annoyed if they make Harry Venom. I mean, they set up Harry in ASM2, then Webb teases the black suit on Twitter and says happy birthday to the guy playing Harry in the same post. It just feels like they EASILY could have made it Eddy Brock (isn't Norman like a sick old guy in this new continuity? Why does he have a teenage son?), but chose not to (maybe because Harry is Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon?) Also, slightly off-topic, I've started reading Venom (where it's Flash Thompson), and it's REALLY good. If they went that route eventually (Flash loses his legs, uses the symbiote to become a special agent/antihero), I'd be behind that 100%.

Also I think once we see DeHaan's performance it will really set him up for even bigger movies. He did really well in Chronicle and I keep stating that since the writer of Chronicle is writing a Venom movie, it just really works out since they know each other and are more comfortable with being able to put everything on film. I really like this way, if it happens, because DeHaan was such a great actor, and chronicle is one my favorite movies. But I have to read up on the other ways venom have come into exsistance, so i'll get back to you on which way I like best.
I grew up with Brock Venom and if I was making the film I'd stick to that. But Harry Venom is technically a better story and Brock does come into it later.
I just hope they involve Miles Morales in some way, and of course get Donald Glover to play him
What I'm wondering is why the biggest company owner in possibly all of New York doesn't have one brightly-lit photo of himself Why the hell would you dark out your own face on a Company presentation, damnit [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] I love how originally people were like "Fuck, this looks shit" and the past 5+ pages are just praising the movie for how good it is :v:

There was a lot of good in there (the CGI, the school fight, the majority of the preformances, etc.) and plenty of flaws (he buys the web fluid, lizard-cops don't do anything, Pete is allergic to masks, etc.). I'm excited for the sequel, since that will be when they don't have to meet any story requirements (and now he gets bit by a spider, and now Uncle Ben dies, and now he's Spider-Man, and now...) and we'll really get to see what these guys can do with Spidey on their own. The proverbial training wheels are off; the franchise will either coast along nicely or come to a wobbly crash.

Why would they willingly sell them to anyone? Biocable like that would be as expensive as shit, Peter would never be able to afford that. And his family has never been well off in any continuity He most likely stole them, given that Oscorp has the security of a wet paper bag
I think he just copied the formula and made it himself. That's why he spent ages testing it in his room. I would like if he kept the mask on more next time though.
"Your father want's you to come in, immediately" - Father runs out of building
Bit late, but if there were reports of a large lizard throwing cars everywhere and I was a police officer, I would make sure my children were inside. [editline]22nd February 2013[/editline] Alright, another mini rant here: Why does everyone think that Gwen Stacy either dies in the next film, or is ruined forever? Every single piece of media she's in, everyone wants her to die. What is the fucking point? She died once in one of the thousands of Marvel universes. Alright then, the Lizard died in The New Animated Series, now The Lizard is ruined forever because he didn't die at the end of the film Can't we have Gwen Stacy without people begging her to get killed off? It is not going to happen, it just isn't. Why would you want that so bad? Its pointless. *mini rant over* Now, if only they made a movie based on the 90s series. I loved the ASM, but come on, who wouldn't want this? And yes, this means Green Scorpion, German Doc Ock, and Kingpin
