Bit late, but if there were reports of a large lizard throwing cars everywhere and I was a police officer, I would make sure my children were inside.

Alright, another mini rant here:
Why does everyone think that Gwen Stacy either dies in the next film, or is ruined forever? Every single piece of media she's in, everyone wants her to die. What is the fucking point? She died once in one of the thousands of Marvel universes.
Alright then, the Lizard died in The New Animated Series, now The Lizard is ruined forever because he didn't die at the end of the film
Can't we have Gwen Stacy without people begging her to get killed off? It is not going to happen, it just isn't. Why would you want that so bad? Its pointless.
*mini rant over*
Now, if only they made a movie based on the 90s series. I loved the ASM, but come on, who wouldn't want this?
And yes, this means Green Scorpion, German Doc Ock, and Kingpin
its because mary jane has a role in this 2nd movie.
so everyone is like "Oh gwen is probably gonna die. [sp] like she did in the comics [/sp]"
Its just ridiculous
Mary Jane and Gwen have co-existed in pretty much any continuity they both appear. Its not like Mary Jane was introduced, and Gwen died an issue later
But movies aren't put out at a monthly basis.
I'm willing to bet money that Gwen dies either here or in the inevitable ASM3.
Gwen's death is one of the big moments in Spider-Man's history; he gets bit by a spider, Uncle Ben is murdered, Gwen Stacy dies.
I haven't seen anyone claiming that Gwen's character will be "ruined" if she doesn't die; it would be a wasted opportunity if she didn't bite it at some point in the movie series.
If the ASM series of films ends and Gwen is still alive, any anger would be due to wasted potential; it's sorta like how they had Dylan Baker as Dr. Conners in the Raimi series, yet he never became the Lizard.
And the line "With great power comes with great responsibility" was never uttered once in the movie
Late again, but Uncle Ben only started saying saying that line in the Original movies, it would just feel like a cop-out and referencing it to keep the fans happy, which you shouldn't have to do
If we're sticking to the original comics, like the Lizard, we should've had the oblivious Librarian / Stan Lee say it. And it would've been epic
[editline]23rd February 2013[/editline]
Also I really doubt Gwen is going to die, it's just too much of an irrelevant, unneeded cop-out
She doesn't need to die. It won't be wasted potential. Because Peter's pretty much had way too many people around him die. Gwen Stacy's death in the comic didn't really serve any role, what did he learn from it?
Snip
Except "based on comics" does not equal "Mindlessly Accurate straight-up Adaptation"
They wanted to do their own thing, so what if it didn't look identical to the comics?

Pete learns that he can't save everyone.
No matter what he does, he'll always have Uncle Ben's blood on his hands.
When George Stacy died, he made Pete promise to take care of Gwen.
He not only failed, he may have been responsible for her death (the sudden stop of being caught by the webline snaps her neck).
Things were looking up, but then a lunatic like the Goblin comes along and destroys everything; such is the life of Peter Parker.
It's not so much a matter of "will they kill Emma Stone" so much as it is a matter of "when".
Honestly, I'd give them a ton of credit if they actually did it; bonus points if it's implied that Peter's actions are what get her killed. Not only is it sticking to the source material, it's a ballsy move to kill off the main love interest in something as typically "safe" as a Spider-Man movie and could introduce some real meat to the story anc characters.
Frankly, the fact that they seem to be building up Norman Osborn makes me think that they WON'T have Django kill Gwen in TASM2.
They mention in ASM that Norman is dying, hence the Lizard serum.
That doesn't work, so they try other cures, one of which could be the symbiote that eventually leads to Harry becoming this continuity's version of Venom.
My idea is that they'll keep this subtle plot thread throughout the series until maybe the third installment; then they'll introduce yet ANOTHER cure: [sp]the Goblin Formula[/sp].
Norman goes berserk, Gwen goes off the bridge, and Peter's character is forever impacted.
Mary Jane takes up a more prominent role, hell they could even try tying the black suit into it if they wanted.
The thing about comic movies is that they need to stay connected to the source material, even if it's just through simple scenes.
The Avengers showed that Thanos wished to court Death, Dark Knight Rises had Bane break the Bat, Captain America had the whole War Bonds/punching Hitler montage; hell, the first 30 minutes of Iron Man is issue #1 to a T, only it's set in the Middle East rather than in Vietnam. They even kept Yinsen.
Even Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, an adaptation that changes plenty of things (MJ is his first love, organic webshooters, a "genetically altered" spider, Bonesaw McGraw, he's friends with Harry in high school, etc. etc.) kept the original death of the Green Goblin; impaled by his own glider.
Its hardly like he was running around like a mindless fuck not giving a shit until Gwen Stacy died. Hasn't this universe's Peter gone through enough?
[editline]23rd February 2013[/editline]
His parents leave. Both die
He gets beat up so bad he can barely stand in front of the entire school
His memories about his abandonment resurface and plague him for just about the whole movie
His curiosity gets the better of him and he gets bitten by a genetically altered Spider
He accidentally beats up a group of new yorkers on the subway
He accidentally gives a scientist a flawed solution to his serum and makes him mutate into a giant lizard
He doesn't stop a criminal just because he couldn't pay for chocolate milk
His uncle dies (because of chocolate milk)
He has a full police force after him
He gets slagged off by his girlfriends family
He gets cocky and lets the Lizard discover who he is
He gets fucking massive claw marks on his chest
He gets shot, unmasked and then shot again
His girlfriends father dies
He gets a tardy
Fucking trauma incarnate
No. Peter must go through more trauma than any other super-hero ever. He's the unluckiest man alive.

Webb sure likes to tweet important plot details.

The plot twist will be Gwen turning into Carnage

WAIT, SERIOUSLY.
IS THIS FOR REAL?
THIS IS HIS COSTUME IN ASM2?
OH MY GOD, I THINK I PEED A LITTLE.
I'm really excited to see Dane DeHaan as Harry, he's such a depressed dude, yet terrifying at the same time.
Dane DeHaan is getting fit for his role as Harry.
“I work out incredibly intensely six days a week and I eat every two hours. Mostly proteins and veggies. I consume at least 3,000 calories a day. I’ve already gained seven pounds in six weeks!… It is [a lot] for me! I weigh more right now than I’ve ever weighed in my whole life. I’ve always constantly had trouble putting on weight, so it’s actually a whole lot for me.”
a fit venom physique would(could) work out really well.
They tried just having a guy work out and put on a suit in S3. It didn't work.
I was hoping Venom would be CG or a body double so he's really fucking big.

I dont want a bulky venom at first. with just a fit physique, like spiderman's physique but alittle bigger.

like in ultimate spiderman
I mean, just look at this guy.
[t]http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/chronicle-movie-image-dane-dehaan.jpg[/t]
I can see him as Harry, he looks like the sort of nutty angry/depressive kid from school.
I grew up with the animated series and Harry was always a real downer in that. "Ohhh my dad, ooooh my shitty life, oooh I had to be Goblin for some stupid reason, oooh I've got shit hair" Fuck off Harry your problems aren't even problems, Peter's trying to bang another hot girl and she's a super hero cat thief.

Honestly. Even as a kid I really thought Harry was a cunt.

Nothing will ever change my opinion on this

I don't know how I managed to watch Spider-Man 3 in middle school and take it seriously.
It's just so fucking goofy.

venom needs to be insanely huge
like schwarzenegger in his prime x2
I hope they go with that idea that Venom eats people to get stronger or whatever it was too. He should be terrifying.
Pretty sure Venom won't be in ASM2 even if the suit is though. But when his already announced solo movie comes around it's what I'd want.
I still think the worst thing they ever did was get rid of Anti-Venom, that Anti-Venom/Punisher comic was fun
Or better yet, have Carnage ripping people in half.
