Really interesting OP, thanks!
I hope you're trolling with your "OOH dRUGS ARE GOOD, JUST LEGALIZE THEM" hippy bullshit. There are far more serious issues at hand than few potheads like you get in your colony. use it.
You're a fucking idiot. Do you honestly support state control, are you too fucking dumb to make your own decisions? I'm perfectly capable of deciding what goes in my body. Let people do whatever the fuck they like as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. Let the junkie sit in his den nodding away smacked out of his mind on diamorphine, what difference does it make to you? The only harm that effects you is from it being illegal so they have to steal from you to fund their habbit etc.

Brazil just started taking it's biggets problem head on and they're doing absolutely mind blowingly good job at it. I'm just rooting for the brave operators who have families and yet still go into a flavella to make lives of people who live there much better. Sure people die, but by released records only the death of the civillians is the one that's saddening. The brazilian police has proved ages ago that they can effectively kill crime, because they can outgun them, destroy their heads and kill their money making ways. Legalise drugs if you will, but the problem of gangs won't go away. Thanks to flavelas the murder rate for the whole city is over 40 people dead per 100,000 inhabitants. There are around 512 flavelas in rio. Various acts of violence, especially murder by gangs happen every moment in every flavela. The gangs control the local population. Drugs are not the problem, drugs are what earns money for the problem. and they're not harmless stupid potheads, they deal with coke and other highly impure shit like that. The images are hilarious.
What the fuck am I even reading right now.
Okay lets just pretend that impure heroin is perfectly fine for you and not addictive at all, same with Crack, right? What would legalisation change about that in any way?
You all realise that these folks aren't /just/ a bunch of peace-loving drug dealers - they're brutal, killer gangs. They don't deserve to exist, and I applaud the authorities for their efforts. E: Besides, legalising drug sale won't take money from the gangs - they'll still be the major suppliers (and thus profiters) given their current infrastructure.
Agree with the two posts above. There's a reason why locals cheer every time a druglord is taken down.
Nice picture :D

Go to south america and they'll sell you a kilo of coke for $300. Take it back home and sell it for $20,000+.
*Timeline*
Alcohol is one single item. In Brazil there is everything from weed to coke to heroine. A lot of people are for the legalization of marijuana including me, but things like coke and heroine should stay restricted and frankly in Brazil coke and other "harder" drugs fund most of everything.

You have made our lives sooo much better! How is killing people the only way to set things right? Think about it for a second. Look at all the photographers, read all of the captions. See if you can read for two sentences without the word 'drugs' or 'drug dealer'. This is borderline propaganda. They do photoshoots like this, like I said before, so people are under the impression that so much is getting done. I bet more drug dealers have already moved into the place. Do you not understand that 'drug dealing scum' have families too. I know you're 14, and they're just bad guys to you, but those are people as well, losing their lives. Since you didn't say anything about my age guess, I'm just going to assume that was correct. Being fourteen, you have no clue what it's like to be hungry, to have to make money just so you can eat. I bet your mom or dad paid for everything you own. You have no clue about the living conditions of these people. Highly impure shit like that? Coke in and of itself isn't 'impure'. They add things to make more profit. Make drugs legal- impurities cease to be a problem. If gangs are such a big problem, it seems like the most logical thing to do would be like, I don't know, cut off their monetary supply? And it's an min14 with a polymer stock, not the gun tokio marui based their airshit on. Why the fuck would a SOCOM have anyhthing shiny on them?

Also watch Tropa De Elite. It's based on BOPE and it's set in the 90's. Talks about the shit that's happening in rio right now. It's based on the testimonials of two BOPE officers and their psychiatrist. Everything is as close to life as possible there, show's nicely how's daily life there is. Can't wait till sunday. Hopefully the scum will accept their fate and give up again, not fighting back.
.... :geno: I can't believe what I'm reading.
I see nothing wrong about what you quoted; it's a good, fairly informative film.
If I have to explain why a movie, made for entertainment, isn't a good source to base your opinions on, I've already lost you all, and will just accept my flood of boxes from /b/tards.
Why would legalising it mean that they didn't have to steal to pay for it? What would legalisation change about that in any way?
Tax, not getting arrested for drug use, cheaper drugs, etc, which means they would afford drugs more cheaply at better quality, then at this point you can deal with anyone that steals for drugs like someone who steals for alcohol.

It's like saying Generation kill is completely unreliable, when it was from the war diary of a Rolling Stone Journalist [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline]
Tax, not getting arrested for drug use, cheaper drugs, etc, which means they would afford drugs more cheaply at better quality, then at this point you can deal with anyone that steals for drugs like someone who steals for alcohol.
The reason they steal is because they don't have jobs, if you legalise the drugs, it doesn't mean that they are going to be able to stop stealing to fuel their addiction. Also the primary salespeople in a legalised environment will still be the gangs, as much as everyone (including me) would love to see a society where you can pop into a store and buy some crack with your weekly, there is no way that there will ever be a mainstream commercialised sale of hard drugs, in my lifetime at least. The stigma behind substances that have killed people (such as my cousin's boyfriend) and ruined lives for decades is too great.
