Yeah, because curfews teenagers can't go to late-night art exhibitions and museums! How horrible! No, seriously. Teens who go out after 8pm aren't going to do anything productive out there anyway. I wish we had curfews over here too. No more idiotic drunk teenagers :3
As USA wasn't a weird country in the first place.
Yeah I doubt anyone actually obeys this curfew.
Who needs rights when you're in Cambodia :smug:
Didn't Cambodia have a wave of Genocide in the mid 70's?
My 17 year old brother got a ticket for vandalizing, loitering, and curfew all at once about a week ago. Its pretty much for people like him.
So we ban things to prevent people from doing things that are illegal anyway?
What could you possibly do that's not destructive at that hour? The law isn't hurting you so deal with it.
The same non-destructive things you do at other hours, but this time under a sky with a slightly darker hue One town over from mine used to use what sounded like an air raid siren to signify the curfew Until a 12 year old, at 2AM, stole the siren
:irony:
First of all, do you honestly think that us teenagers obey these laws? Second, what year was this "law" established? And third, take a look at our society, you have teenagers everywhere at night. Movie theaters, restaurants, diners, shopping centers, etc. You honestly think cops care? Hell, I was out at 2 am once riding my bike on one of the busiest intersections, I didn't get stopped or anything. By the way, minor by definition in Florida for curfew is under the age of 16.
Cops love detaining kids. They think every minor is a criminal
Go to South East Asia I'm 14 and I sneaked into a fancy night club (in Chiang Mai) without paying and showing my ID and reaped the benefits of New Years :D The benefits were: grinding HOTTIES Whiskey-Cola Cigarrettes Groping Babe's asses and money makers Experience of an epic night club :D Read my New Years countdown experience: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1044316-My-New-Years-Countdown-Experience
You're really desperate for attention aren't you.
Holy hell, the curfew for my city is 10pm. All week. :wtc:
Holy hell, the curfew for my city is 10pm. All week. :wtc:
I love ireland. Absoloutely no curfews
Not here. It applies to everyone under 18.
Derp. Not in Florida.
We don't have any curfews and no problems with vandalism/loitering/drunken rampages setting entire cities on fire.
Maybe if I started my own damn country, nobody would have to deal with this curfew shit. But apparently I'm a minor and my opinion doesn't matter.
Maybe if I started my own damn country, nobody would have to deal with this curfew shit. But apparently I'm a minor and my opinion doesn't matter.
When you turn 18 instead of becoming complacent like everyone else, fight it.
I find it hilarious that the US claims to be the the world centre of freedom when they have a history of curfew and probation.
Honestly, there is no good reason for a anyone under 16 to be out after 12 PM or before 4AM Atleast 80% chance they are probably doing something illegal. [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] Although after 8pm is more than a little strict.
When you turn 18 you'll see how silly this thread is.
Because you don't have to obey them?
I was never stopped for curfew. Must be because I'm white (broward county here)
I don't go outside after curfew but I've worked overnight gaming things at my workplace. But then again that's a private establishment, not a government or public workplace. But depends on your definition of minor. The timeslot you can not be out at gets smaller as you get older.

[editline]1st January 2011[/editline] Although after 8pm is more than a little strict.
discriminate a little more why don't you
I was never stopped for curfew. Must be because I'm white (broward county here)
I've never been stopped for breaking curfew either, I'm in broward as well. It irks me that we're not legally allowed to travel at a certain time of the day.
Stop going out so late.
Since when does 'late' or 'early' get defined by the police? I think I'll make my decisions myself thank you very much. Curfews are fucking horseshit. We have a 'curfew' bylaw in place but nobody follows it.
Since when does 'late' or 'early' get defined by the police? I think I'll make my decisions myself thank you very much. Curfews are fucking horseshit.
Do you have some kind of study done by sociologists to back up your figures there bub
Give me one example of something a 15 year old out after midnight without a chaperone would be doing that isn't illegal or otherwise idiotic. I'm 15. I can't think of one. :colbert:
Just because your experience and imagination is limited to your computer doesn't mean that all teenagers under 18 shouldn't be allowed to go outside.
I like how you gave me a example, and didn't just insult me without answering my question. :downs: [editline]1st January 2011[/editline]
The idea isn't that there needs to be things that teenagers would do that's "approved," the idea is that it's outrageous to think that just because you're standing outside after a certain time means you're a criminal.
If you are a minor, you don't get the same rights as a adult. There are very good reasons for that. [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] I'm still waiting for a example.
Give me one example of something a 15 year old out after midnight without a chaperone would be doing that isn't illegal or otherwise idiotic.
drink a can of coke
