maybe even just switching around the orange and the blue could work, but something about the colours as they currently are just irritate my eyes sorry guys for being so terrible at choosing album covers
no its fine, you have shit taste in traps too [sp]jks, best trap[/sp]
no its fine, you have shit taste in traps too [sp]jks, best trap[/sp]
dont even joke about that man
Uploading started, I'm hella excited about this! [editline]26th June 2014[/editline] Also the winner of the most compressed track goes to... Hakita! Congratulations man, the whole song is just one thick sausage :)
my only regret is that my song isn't 20x louder than all the other tracks
http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1404561 It is finished
maybe you shoulda waited for those updated album covers from T.F.W.O. but whatever
I'm pretty sure the only people who didn't like the album art was you :v: The music so far is golden, I'm amazed.
well you could've at least told him that this is what we're going with, making him do pointless work is just rude
oh yeh, how come no one is credited for any of the tracks? In the description you should, imo, put who wrote each track even if he hadnt already posted it, it's obvious which track is hakita's
even if he hadnt already posted it, it's obvious which track is hakita's
are you completely sure though maybe the extensively long dry joke song title with the mention of the character in my avatar is actually just someone else and my song didn't make it in because skeeter doesn't like sausages
are you completely sure though maybe the extensively long dry joke song title with the mention of the character in my avatar is actually just someone else and my song didn't make it in because skeeter doesn't like sausages
oh no, that one was mine, I did it as an homage to you, no, you're track is the second one, you go for a chiptune song (a genre you've mentioned you dont like) and you also made it stupidly short just to trick us all
oh no, that one was mine, I did it as an homage to you, no, you're track is the second one, you go for a chiptune song (a genre you've mentioned you dont like) and you also made it stupidly short just to trick us all
wait when did i say i dont like chiptune i must've missed that part somewhere
I'm gonna start writing my reviews for the songs now. Good job everyone!
This sort of isn't very professional but whatever like not many people are going to listen anyway
as long as everyone who submitted a song writes reviews im fine with that i've always prefer words over plays
wait when did i say i dont like chiptune i must've missed that part somewhere
i cant find the post, but iirc, you said you don't really like chipmusic that much or something, it may have been referring to a specific part of a song or something, idk
i cant find the post, but iirc, you said you don't really like chipmusic that much or something, it may have been referring to a specific part of a song or something, idk
well i wouldn't want to listen a full album of just chiptune, but as long as it's actually made that way and not stagnant "look guys, this is a song i made but its 8bit so it's different and new and exciting!" chiptune-for-the-sake-of-chiptune bullshit im okay with it plus chiptune elements in songs can be fantastic when used right, ie. [editline]26th June 2014[/editline]
This sort of isn't very professional but whatever like not many people are going to listen anyway
I always think of these albums as just a motivator to make music or to just include yourself with other skilled artists, a proper collaborative album would've been managed so that all the tracks would be mastered by someone who is skilled and can combine all the songs so that they sound similar in some way. :)
Plot twist ; This is your album, all the tracks are made by you.
plothole: album cover terrible story 0/10 never try to write an anime again
as long as everyone who submitted a song writes reviews im fine with that i've always prefer words over plays
And also this, it is an ample opportunity for anyone to have their songs reviewed by other artists and get some thoughts on what they do good and maybe not so good. [editline]26th June 2014[/editline]
plothole: album cover terrible story 0/10 never try to write an anime again
The only hole here is the one I fill with sweet delicious sausages
copy-pasted from the thread at GD:
4-PO-DMT psychedelic intro, reminds me of Boris' album Mabuta no Ura turns into a 70's esque synth driven poppy prog-rock section, very Pink Floyd-esque production is fantastic, everything sounds sharp and clear and blends together nicely, nothing sounds out of place or off sounds like an excerpt from a concept song, a la Echoes Water Dream chiptuney farts playing an RPG-like save tune sounds like the outro track for an album, very calming some of the solo notes sound a bit odd and don't quite blend with the background chords and there's a couple parts where they have this piercing sound that irritates my ears at a higher volume sounds like it should've gone further and built more than it had, but at its current state it could've worked well as the closing track for this album Collision Course i absolutely love it, wonderful post-golden age fusion jazz feel, very Miles Davis-esque, but with an electronic beat and a more industrial feel thick atmosphere, i can really get immersed in the dissonant tunes and incredible drum sound production and mixing is masterful, a lot of very otherwordly sounds accompanying the lovely organ sound the only thing i don't quite like is that the ending isn't long enough, it should've continued for longer to really give proper closure to such a wonderful track Steel and Silver starts off a bit janky, the production in the intro sounds muffled, but after it kicks in properly it sounds much better, though that background synth doing the wobbly stuff still sounds a bit low-quality very dancey song, like something you'd hear at an outdoors concert with lots of people partying and the DJ wobbling awkwardly trying to look like he's doing something not my kinda music, but certainly not bad, enjoyed it Saika Totsuka's Laws of Causality and Deconstruction of Fascist Ideals " the whole song is just one thick sausage :) " ~ Skeeter, 2014 i feel i should've made the noises a bit more prominent and louder, but all in all im satisfied with this track Black Magic & Voodoo Women wonderful production, a very psychedelic stoner rock jam, getting some Grails vibes not a fan of how the hi-hat sounds, but otherwise everything sounds just right and there's lots of nice subtleties in the mixing that give it a very professional feel i feel the song title is a bit unfitting though, it doesn't have that voodoo feel to it at all, it's more of a middle eastern feel than a voodoo feel i'd hoped that the weird distortions would've come back at the end to really set the finale off and end it with a bang but still great track Party and Praise the mixing sounds very odd, like the instruments that are in the foreground are way too loud compared to the background instruments very often (especially the organ, it's almost impossible to hear anything from under it) songwriting-wise it's very video gamey with its off-the-wall style and streamlined progrock sound, like a castlevania song good song, though i feel it could've been a lot better if it had a more refined production and overall sounded less artifical and computer-generated Final Bossa reminds me a lot of the transitional period from progressive rock to synthpop in the early 80's very chill and calm, though sounds like it's straight from an anime soundtrack, for better or for worse the second half spices the song up a bit and otherwise sounds fantastic, but im not a fan of the new lead synth, atleast not compared to the softer one that comes back at the end the orchestral intro and outro sound absolutely wonderful, they have a great sound to them
SHit! I wasn't able to get my track in, and fix the album cover... Oh well. [editline]26th June 2014[/editline] This is what happens when you wait till the last minute...
I could pop you in if you send me the track, T.F.W.O. :)
I could pop you in if you send me the track, T.F.W.O. :)
It seems a bit late for that. People have already written their reviews. If you could make it work, that would be nice!
I wouldn't mind reviewing your track even if it's already been done :)
bandcamp is acting iffy for me right now so I can't seem to upload the track, I'll see if it is doable tomorrow and I'll also get a review for that song of yours done as well! I had a though too ; Next album, maybe we should have a different thread for each track? I realized how little I wrote about each track and I was thinking of that having a single thread for each track means you can take the proper time to listen and really comment on that track instead of how it is done now (or at least, I listen to the album 3 times and write something every time I hear a track the last round of listens).
i think that's overkill
yeah while its neat that you could give each track more attention I think it would break the idea of the final product being an album
I suggest we do more albums. This was very fun. In the thread I suggested a back to school album in august. I honestly thought this stuff was very fun to do.
I can't wait to get behind a computer to write a review for you all, because you guys did an amazing job on your songs.
