I just don't really get Rusty's angle. I've always thought he was a funny guy just because he seems to be a decrepit guy who likes to be anti-everything that isn't him. I dunno, I haven't seen him say one positive thing about anything and seems to be aggressively hateful of anything that doesn't vibe with him or his slack buddies, and he actually likes GMF that way apparently. Even when I play around and make joke plug-ins that affect only his posts, he gets upset about how he can't "moderate effectively" when I don't ever see him do anything on Facepunch outside of complaining about Facepunch. I actually commended gold's slack because people actually took to their word and left something they couldn't stand. Rusty didn't.
replace rusty with me realtalk

http://facepunch.com/fp_events.php?user=37601 Looking forward to the news from Postal about the solution.

He must be so embarrassed around the other mods. Maybe he's so angry all of the time because he's insecure about his tiny ban record.
i still dont understand whats wrong with the gmf right now all of the major offending threads were closed and ban-on-sight months ago?
Rusty wants to delete the GMF because he and his buddies don't browse it anymore, not because he cares about a cycle or anything. I'm calling his bluff.
Wasn't he a major contributing reason to why GMF was so bad to begin with?
is this effort about giving it more purpose or what? its gonna be hard to do that when the distinction between gold member and regular member is basically nothing
it will always turn into the same thing. just now with shitter posters. delete
You're one to talk.
Wasn't he a major contributing reason to why GMF was so bad to begin with?
it was postal. his spamming turned the gmf in to a complete hellscape [editline]2nd July 2015[/editline] ban postal?
-snip-
it was postal. his spamming turned the gmf in to a complete hellscape [editline]2nd July 2015[/editline] ban postal?
Was it postal? I didn't know postal had much to do with GMF. The only mods I really associated with GMF was Crapt and Rusty, but Crapt calmed down a bit. [editline].[/editline] And BDA
is this effort about giving it more purpose or what? its gonna be hard to do that when the distinction between gold member and regular member is basically nothing
Maybe blues are denied larger avatars to avoid the social order breaking down. [editline]3rd July 2015[/editline]
it was postal. his spamming turned the gmf in to a complete hellscape
I think I'm going to need some context. Oh, that'd probably count as leaking the GMF. Well now I'm curious.
a vote for me is a vote for the safety of young posters
care for the little ones
a vote for me is a vote for the safety of young posters
wasn't worrying about that too much one of the reasons why this thread exists
I really do like the idea of gold servers and stuff, there just needs to be a way to give out gold atm. I know I'm just regurgitating at this point but I think this should be step number one.

thunderdome but for gold instead of honor
thunderdome but for gold instead of honor
I will ride into the GMF, shiny and gold. [editline]3rd July 2015[/editline]
pretty sure that's what postal was running by garry
I thought Postal was only running GMF moderation/management by Garry. I don't think he mentioned anything about getting gold. Whenever acquiring gold is brought up I don't recall the mods really making any concrete statements or addressing any of the suggested alternative ways to get it other than repeatedly shooting down the old method of getting it.
I will ride into the GMF, shiny and gold.
I will protect the GMF with a flamethrower. I melt gold.
I will protect the GMF with a flamethrower. I melt gold.
You can't melt pyrite with just a flamethrower. [editline]3rd July 2015[/editline]
A weapon to surpass Gold Member Forums.
Upon retrospect, the open-spit roast cookoff wasn't such a great idea in a solid gold building.
I will ride into the GMF, shiny and gold.
we're renaming moderators to imperators now banned users will have MEDIOCRE plastered across their avatars
If borstar was taken down because taxes were too high to make it really profitable then just make it a black market business.
If borstar was taken down because taxes were too high to make it really profitable then just make it a black market business.
i don't think garry wants all that he's worked for to achieve with facepunch studios as a whole to be burned to the ground by her majesty's inland revenue because of a black market donation scheme
-snip- I'd imagine alternate ways of paying for gold membership and titles was probably thought through and deemed to be too problematic as well.
I want to apologise to anyone I called out in sexy post Nobody on these forums are terrible, you're all lovely people despite your beliefs and differences and I'm sorry I contributed to the toxic environment of the gmf when I used to suffer harshly back in 2010 under my old account Nobody deserves it really
^facepunch success story
^facepunch success story
wasn't he permabanned Actually no he wasn't, except for very briefly. Must be mixing him up with something. He remains an inspiration to us all.

I know fruxo was awesome. The people who are the most upset or outspoken tend to be the ones who care the most, and I've always got that vibe from fruxo.
tbh mate i don't think anyone wants to remember the past and would rather forget and move on but good on you for apologizing
Yeah I'm sorry for that, glad you moved on but I wanted to tie up loose ends. I was banned during this discussion but read every page and I agree with the principle of what you guys want to do Old gmf was a shit pile, and it was nice to see some old posters come out and agree. I still think the shit posting is unique and should be kept in some way but I don't think the harsh treatment towards other members should be ever retained Besides most are on slack now so there's no reason to keep it as old way for them, experiments is what makes everything interesting and exciting
