I'm starting to really hate the whole "hipster" trend, and not in the way you may think.

I'm not a hipster because that's too mainstream.
My definition of Hipster is a person who dresses better than you.
So everyone calls me a hipster and I don't know any hipsters. :colbert:
Where's the Coolbert emote when you need it?.. Anyone know the :___: ?
Hey everyone, keep on posting variations of "I was hipster before it was mainstream."
It gets more original every time

Hey, remember this guy, Adam Savage? Of course you do.
I like, like many kids, grew up absolutely loving Mythbusters. I also noticed, when watching this show, that Adam had some really cool looking glasses, so when it turned out that I was nearsighted, I decided was going to get glasses like his, pretty much one of my child heroes.
But now, I always get people calling me some non-conformist douche for it. Everyone needs to stop giving a fuck what's hipster and what isn't. I wear what glasses I damn well feel like wearing.
adam savage is your childhood hero? how old are you? mythbusters is only a few years old

17, and the shows been around since 2003.
that's only a few years
I'd consider 8 years a decent time. I was in third grade, so it counts.
What the fuck, why are we discussing this, this is a thread about hipsters.
I ware Ray Bans, and I'm no hipster!
Yeah, I was calling people hipsters before it was cool, now everybody's doing it.
I find it fucking disgusting when I see hipsters that wear the ear rings that open up their earlobes about an inch in diameter.
When I see that I have a sudden craving to have a padlock or something similar that's quite so heavy and have the key so far away.
If you really hate hipsters move to Portland. There are absolutely no hipsters here
hi
I got called a hipster for not having a Facebook, because I am socially awkward I WAS CALLED A HIPSTER.
In all seriousness, I really do get called a hipster quite a lot, but I'm okay with it.
I dress more or less like I live at Pac Sun and I listen to both "underground" music and popular music.
I must admit that my glasses style was chosen to emulate that trendy look, but I like the amount of lens I can see through as well.

Pretty sure that's an image macro.

what
what
I've seen image macros about putting padlocks in the stretched lobes of people.
if you like/dislike a band solely based on how little-known they are then you are a tool and your opinion is shit
I don't know how old you and your friends are but if this is how America is it seems rather childish.

Stay the fuck away from people you don't like and they will stay away from you simple as that.
There's no such thing as a hipster "trend", simply because you called it a trend. Fuck you and your mainstream ideals.
:v:
But one thing I've noticed about our age group is that we're like, the worst for what would seem to be hipster behavior. Especially when it comes to music. Generally, I've found that adolescent males will absolutely condemn female singers who aren't part of a band, regardless the actual music they produce. I guess its to do with most of us are fairly insecure about our masculinity at this age.
But it just really annoys me that people (especially people our age) will refuse to let themselves like something because of the social connotations of liking it.
I see where you're coming from OP, but when it comes to music I think there's a massive cringe away from popular stuff with people our age and sex purely because of how we'll look if we like it.
I'm sorry im too unique and interesting.
I found shit like this stupid
one thing that really pisses me off is when people generalize all skaters to wear skinny jeans, loads of mascara and gay shit and listen to hawthorne heights
listen faggots i just want to ride my skateboard around cut it the fuck out
There's so many different styles of skating Ive skated so many different cities dude but mostly every skater wears generally tight or slim pants. I rock some tight as fuck pants, cutoff tight pants, baggy as fuck shorts, rockin everythingg dudee as for the makeup and shit ive never seen that shit
i cant remember what my point was but yeahhh dude i feel you
i honestly don't give a fuck about hipsters and shit, their life, their choice, live yours
What I dislike is when people strictly dislike any popular music simply because it's popular. Give it a chance, listen to other stuff by the artist that isn't so popular and don't listen to certain music just because you want to be "different".
Except for those bands that are played all over the place like Queen and the Beatles :v:
AND CHRISTMAS MUSIC!
I FUCKING HATE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!
It now grates on my brain like non-other!
I was getting worried that i was going to fall under the hipster category...but im not. Go. Me.
I usually end up playing a weird game of catch up and my own little path of music.
I'll like songs from bands that everyone else already knows but it'll two years since they were "popular" and then I'll find awesome songs by obscure bands or people.
Wow.. dude this thread is like.. so ironic..
My definition of hipster: skinny jeans, scarf when it's not cold, big fan of apple products, and a huge smug shit eating grin on their face.
