Killing Hicks and Newt in 3 was a stupid thing to do. How the hell can Ripley survive for more than 2 movies while everybody else dies?
And I never got how the 2 survivors other than Ripley died in 1. The guy with the flamer had a clean line of fire, even if he had to kill the woman, he would survive. Survival instincts overpower emotion. He would have pressed that trigger without a second thought.
About the emotional thing, maybe its the Queen inside her? I mean, a parasitic organism like that is the recipe for hormone-fucking-up to the host.
Personally, I think that Alien>Aliens>Alien:RE>Alien 3
Alien 3 sucked. And they messed up Resurrection with the hybrid shit.
I have da solutionz! Don't we see Bishop return with the Landing Craft to pick up Ripley and Newt? Couldn't he have gonne to the Derelict and picked up an egg for research? Hicks was unconscious, couldn't he have drugged him? And he didn't have time to secure the egg on the ship, as he got assraped by the Queen. So the facehugger hatched in the Landing Craft and made its way to the Stasis room.
so, for alien 3 to make sense
bishop has to be evil
hmm

Well, he IS a droid, he could just have been programmed to do it. I mean, Ash was programmed in Alien. Why wouldn't Bishop be programmed in Aliens? And Burke might have been a decoy to conceal Bishop's intentions.

wasn't there a whole bit about Ash being defective and that Bishop was a much newer model incapable of the same defects?
wasn't there a whole bit about Ash being defective and that Bishop was a much newer model incapable of the same defects?
Well, Bishop didn't hurt anyone directly, he was just unable to finish his programmed objective. And did you see one of those injections he was talking about nearby?
wasn't there a whole bit about Ash being defective and that Bishop was a much newer model incapable of the same defects?
No, Ash had a direct order.
Bishop was just supposedly incapable of complying with such orders.
No, Ash had a direct order.

Who said that? He said that he was incapable of complying with orders to harm human beings. Nothing was mentioned about orders concerning extraterrestial killer egg carrying.

Yeah so why would he go out, bring an egg that was about to hatch, and put it on the ship with Ripley and the others? There's no way he would've done that and not thought "gee maybe this will hatch and kill everyone on board" he would've done something to prevent it hatching and killing them. Alien 3 still doesn't make sense.

He was planning to secure it before it could hatch. But the queen messed up his plans.
Or Weyland-Yutani had his security systems deactivated...

too many assumptions. they would've explained and of this in alien 3 if that were the case. Besides if i remember right the eggs were clearly planted in place, not looking like they were uprooted. they just fucked up, that simple.

Besides, as we can see in Alien, when you disturb the eggs they hatch.
You'd never be able to uproot them.
Bishop was an android, so the effects of him disturbing them could be different.

Uh, how?
Uh, how?
For one, the eggs could be reacting to:
a) Pheromones - Androids don't have any.
b) Heat - I doubt androids have a body temperature different than that of the room.
And there is the possibility of the facehugger being underdeveloped at the time, maturing in the Sulaco when everyone was in hybernation.

Yeah ok that still doesn't work. In Alien the guy was in a space suit and he still managed to trigger that egg.
Why are you still arguing this anyways. The eggs were laid on the ship, and that's not possible. The opening for Alien 3 just doesn't make any sense.

How could the alien egg in the first movie have reacted to either of those things when they were in a sub zero environment and the guy was in a fucking space suit?
That would mean that Bishop would have had to go to where the queen was laying the eggs, and that's assuming that the facehuggers are formed after the eggs are laid which is total nonsense because they look perfectly well formed.
You're just grasping at straws.

Alien eggs open randomly, The Ones in the ship were in statis untill a strong heat source came.
Also i say that Alien and Aliens is way the best, i would like to explore more about the derelict ship with the space jockey

Once again.
In a fucking space suit.
In a sub zero environment.

The egg could have reacted to the vibration of his fall... or residual pheromones on the outside of the suit. Or the internal heating systems.
And who said anything about the queen? I am talking about the Derelict, the ship with the Space Jokey. Maybe Bishop was equiped with specialized equipment? In many of the comics we can see humans handling eggs while they are closed.
I always thought that the egg in Alien opened because Kane touched the mist layer which made an awfully high-pitched sound.

Yes, its possible the mist layer was some form of dormant pheromone and Kane's touch activated it.
Anyone up for watching the trilogy sometime? Could stream it over Justin.tv or LiveStream

nah fuck that pretty sure i speak for everyone where when i say everyone's waiting for the blu-ray, and those who don't have a player are waiting for the anthology to buy one.
I liked Alien, and liked Aliens more, probably because I'm more into action than horror. Haven't seen the third or fourth, and I don't think I want to.
Gotta say, though, that Aliens had more annoying things than Alien. Alien didn't have any, Aliens had two: Burke because he's a generic, disgusting coward asshole traitor sonofabitch, and Newt because I hate screaming little girls in action movies.
I actually really liked 3. I liked the atmosphere and the lighting and the setting. 1 is still probably my favourite though.
I loved Alien and Aliens, Alien 3 was alright for me, and Resurrection was just terrible
I don't get why people didn't like resurrection, first and second movies were the best but, three was just terrible, i sorta liked resurrection.

Convinced me.
the midget with a shotgun itself isn't bad
it's when that midget is paired up with Sigourney Weavers fucking awful acting and the melodrama plot and xenomorph interspecies sex that it becomes unbearable
