I wish JK didn't end it with that prologue of them being older. I would have much rather liked to see the trio just like walking off into the sunset and leaving it up to your imagination to play out the rest of their adventures.
but that's cliche as a heck and it was honestly wrapped up nicely
The thing that still bugs me is how disappointing the battle was. They had loads of Death Eaters, giants and snatchers, yet we only get some lameass glimpses of student and teacher extras dueling Death Eater extras. I mean, are you fucking kidding me? What about Seamus, Luna, Percy, Flitwick, Slughorn etcetc? Why leave out these characters? It doesn't make sense. The buildup to the battle was good, but then they just shat all over the opportunity to make something epic. Sadly, Yates (director), Heyman (producer) and Kloves (screenwriter) hates battles, so they ended up cutting away everything. I'm glad they left in some battle involving the giants, even though I was hoping for some ROTK Oliphauntish fighting, as in teachers and students getting tossed around like ragdolls. The spiders were only used for 2 seconds as well :(
My favourite scene was definitely the [sp]Snape memory. I haven't read the books so it was a big surprise for me.[/sp] After that I had to search the internet but didn't find satisfying answer, maybe someone who read books could help me clear this. [sp]I know it's very unlikely, but when Snape talks with Dumbledore he casts a doe, same as Lilly's. Does it just mean he loved her so much he had the same patronus or something else? For some reason I got this idea Snape could secretly be Harry's true father just the way the scene played out.[/sp]
and here comes the Albus Potter movies :v: not really.
I shouted out when the voldemort/neville bit was happening, "I am Lord Voldemort and you will respect my authoritah" everyone laughed Along with the Glee trailer at the start it said "Get to the theater before you miss it" i said "Too bad no-one gives a shit"
BEST TIME TO WORK AT A MOVIE THEATRE RIGHT NOW GUYS! copy pasta from another thread I posted in:
HARRY POTTER FANS FUCKING EVERYWHERE. Here are two pictures taken by two coworkers at my theatre. My theatre has 24 auditoriums and originally we had 22 of the 24 playing harry potter by the time i left work at 5pm they squeezed in one more theatre to play the midnight release. So we had 23 out of the 24 playing this movie, and each one sold out. Keep in mind that we have 4 very large theaters which combined will house about 2,500, That's just the front 4 theatres. Then we have 12 theatres in the back which each seat about 150-250 people so that's like maybe another 2,500 people. And then we had 7 small theaters which seat about 100 each playing it, so 700 people roughly for that. In all we had roughly 5,700 people just for the midnight release. Not to mention we had 3 3am showings of it in the front 3 theaters. That was just opening morning.
How about next time you keep your coolness to yourself and don't try to ruin dramatic moments for the rest of the people.
Well I don't mean "actually walking off into the sunset" but just ending with them triumphing
all 13 screenings of harry potter was sold out at my theater. there was also a Quidditch tournament in the parking lot
all 13 screenings of harry potter was sold out at my theater. there was also a Quidditch tournament in the parking lot
All they did at my theater was put signs on the girls toilets saying "this way to the ministry of magic"
For awfully dedicated fans that had chairs and shit set up, there were a lot of people that didn't get their tickets to the double feature that night. I waited outside the theater for an hour and I got a great seat and saved 2 others.
I liked that movie quite a bit, even if it did stray from the book a little.
Wow, my local theatre had a power outage. They won't be selling any movie tickets today. WOW!
There was a guy dressed as Hagrid at the theater I went to, his hair and beard were 100% natural, he had a perfect outfit, and the right body type. I would've taken a picture with him if the theater wasn't so dim.
I saw it in 2D yesterday, it was pretty good. Thinking about watching it again in 3D.
Will see it tomorrow. I don't expect anything special, the only reason I'll watch it is because I have watched the rest of them and it'd be stupid not to see the last one then.
im surprised many of you had a bad experience with your audience. During all the dramatic parts there wasnt a single noise made. Everyone was glued to the screen. The only few parts people laughed was voldemort's laugh, then 'the hug', and cheered when Mogonagol kicked ass and Mrs Weasly's thing (which i think couldve been done better if they did it according to the book.) Other than that everone was engaged and behaved appropriately.
This ain't a spoiler. All I have to say, and I have been saying this throughout the series. Neville is a Bad-Ass-Motherfucker.
*long wall of bitching* The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the audiencial cheering. There was enough of this happening where people are yelling "Whoo!" "Yeah!" "Neville's a badass!"... *more bitching*

This ain't a spoiler. All I have to say, and I have been saying this throughout the series.
Used once.
Anyone remember when that was? Surprised I missed it.
Anyone remember when that was? Surprised I missed it.
I think it was [sp]when he blew the fuck out of the shield bubble[/sp]
Can someone tell me in spoilers, or whatever, what 'the hug' is?
Can someone tell me in spoilers, or whatever, what 'the hug' is?
[sp]If i had to guess I'd say it's when voldemort hugs draco for stepping forward when he told the people at hogwarts to join him. Had some people in the theater laughing. Considering it's got a facebook page for it I'm pretty sure that's it ahaha http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-awkward-moment-when-Voldemort-hugs-Draco/219156678127189 [/sp]
The thing is, almost everyone's read the books who's going to see the films, so there's really no surprises. My sister is getting all worried about "spoilers" and I'm like, you've read the book, what is there to spoil? Not to mention most of the films do a pretty good job at botching all the plots up.
Not to mention most of the films do a pretty good job at botching all the plots up.
Portraying books with actual visual effects and real people takes a lot more effort than putting it on paper.
When we were at one of the points the movie where the camera closes up on Voldemort, someone in the audience shouted, "all the power in the world, Voldie, and you can't give yourself a nose."
It's a shame how depressing Harry Potter actually is. In the first lot of books/films it's the dream place where you would want to be, where a child would dream of wanting to live. Then the later ones tear up that "dream" and shows how messed up it gets. [sp]Atleast the ending brings that "dream" back.[/sp]
I feel it reflects the character's aging and how the world is changing around them. The same happens from birth to adulthood to everyone.
What's the deal with that fenrir wolf guy? Half-Blood Prince made him seem like a pretty important character, then in deathly hallows he sorta just vanishes, kinda like they changed their mind about having the screentime to support him anymore. I think I saw him for only a second in this one. What happens to his character in the end in the book?

What happens to his character in the end in the book?
In Deathly Hallows, the book, he's originally the leader of the snatchers, instead of that Scabior guy. In the battle, [sp]he attacks Lavender (same girl as in the film) but Hermione comes to the rescue and starts dueling him. After that he's hit by a crystal ball. At the end of the battle he is defeated by Ron and Neville.[/sp] Though they decided to just get rid of him quickly in the film. Sad, because he was pretty badass in the books. EDIT: He was also mentioned running on four legs during the battle, so he might have turned into his full werewolf form.
Just got back from it, a few problems i had with it but generally a good film, feels like they just rushed some bits and other parts were left out that i would've liked to see.
