Fucking people, almost dropped my damn bike. Was on my way to work, was driving through a parking lot to get to it, I'm stopped at an intersection in the lot. There is a car coming towards me in the opposite way, he stops to let me go, and a car comes behind it and comes into my lane, hauling ass. He stops far enough away to scare the fuck out of me, but not close enough to hit me. I scoot over to him while he's still stopped in my lane, ready to chew his fucking ass, and as I pull next to him he fuckin scoots forward and causes me to have to hit my brakes. I lock up the wheels and almost falls over, and I'm supporting myself with one leg, and he rolls the window down and says "that's what anger gets you." I replied with "you fucking asshole youre speeding and on the wrong side of the road". He fucking drives off as i struggle to hold my bike. I was able to get off without it falling over, and pull it up, with gas pouring out of it. Thankfully, a random person saw all this and got out to help me. At least I know I can pick up my bike if I need to. I just wish there was less assholes in the world...
Yeah but people who ride bikes are automatically assholes, duh
Yeah but people who ride bikes are automatically assholes, duh
Clearly has some truth if he felt the need to 'chew him out' instead of letting it go like an adult. h-hey you cant drive there m-m-mister!

So I should just let someone go who was driving reckless? Thanks officer, keep that in mind. I don't think you guys understand how dangerous motorcycling is. ANY wreck at any speed can seriously hurt me or be fatal. That guy's speed was more than enough to run over my bike and pin me under his car. I've SEEN shit like that happen in exactly the same scenario. So what if I want to raise some fucking hell? maybe it'll teach him to be more vigilant. And he was speeding in a BUSY parking lot, with people walking around and other cars moving through. Fuck you guys if you think it's wrong to chew someone's ass for being an asshole.
I'd love to have an old body on frame truck or dime a dozen P71 with a bullbar, so when some reckless ass inevitably hits me out of their own negligence I can just smile at them and drive away.
So I should just let someone go who was driving reckless? Thanks officer, keep that in mind.
Maybe next time you'll scare them and when they drive off you'll drop your bike again but fall under their wheels.
You got some real anger issues duderino
Lol Tmaxx, don't disagree. You do have anger issues, just like me.
So I should just let someone go who was driving reckless? Thanks officer, keep that in mind.
You shouldnt confront them. Thats not your job. I think I know exactly how dangerous motorcycling is as I found myself being the one who has to deal with the aftermath. I dont think you understand how much danger you put yourself in by not only confronting the driver, but doing it so on a motorcycle. All you had to do is call 911, report his license plate, and follow.
Salem bound, don't you live around there Slayer?
Nah, Salem is really ghetto. That's where all the mexicans that buy/sell Honda parts are :v: I'm down south more, Eugene area.

The dude had kids in the car with him, so I elected for the "yell fuck you, flip the bird, and drive away angrily technique" [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] I hope he was embarrassed in front of the little kids, that prick
Nah, Salem is really ghetto. That's where all the mexicans that buy/sell Honda parts are :v: I'm down south more, Eugene area.
Ah, I only got as far south as Albany. Back in the Couve now though.
Ah, I only got as far south as Albany. Back in the Couve now though.
Albany/Corvallis is nice but everything on I-5 between Salem and Eugene is dreadfully boring, it's the sole reason I don't go up to Portland more often.
Anyway, fiery rampage fueled from the hate of assholes aside, I decided to take the guards off my headers to see how they look. [t]http://i.imgur.com/IqdsZ9y.jpg[/t] If it weren't for the stupid spots where they had the clamps, it would look pretty good.
Downshifts from 4th to 3rd—no matter how well-executed on my end—have developed a bit of a notchiness, often a brief clicking sound (esp. in higher RPMs). Is this the synchro?
So, apparently my Dad realized I have an interest in getting into the rookie class at my local speedway sometime in the next few years when I get the ability to get involved more than I have currently, and now he's pressing me to do it. Any of you guys involved in rookie class stock car racing or Late Model at all? Few questions for you guys to help me decide if now's a good time to try to start or not.

Hell, take the rear fender off, replace the front fender with a strut-bar.. it gives the bike character :)
So, apparently my Dad realized I have an interest in getting into the rookie class at my local speedway sometime in the next few years when I get the ability to get involved more than I have currently, and now he's pressing me to do it. I have friends who race, and almost all of them regret not getting into it as early as possible.
So we had one of these in at work yesterday [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/99/Nissan_1400_B140_Bakkie.jpg/1920px-Nissan_1400_B140_Bakkie.jpg[/t] but in bright red even cooler was that it was built in and imported from South Africa (jizz) It had aged ok, bit of cracked paint on the rear pillars and some engine bay rust but god damn I want one, ~700kg and the lightest clutch and gearbox I've ever felt. was a 5 speed too.
Clean up time... Car show in T-minus two days. Still have to fix a door handle, replace two window cranks, clear coat the under trunk area that faded between the lid and rails, and then actually spend all tomorrow washing, and waxing, and trying to get as much dirt as possible off the tires. I pulled the valve cover though, so I could clean everything easier - much better when out of the way, adjusted the valves since it was off - easy deal, just start the engine and adjust the valves while it runs. 5 minutes max. I pulled the plug wires and all the vacuum hoses and wiped them down. I park in the dirt at work so when I start the car the rad fan kicks dirt all over the engine bay. Transmission shop called. More bearings required because they're all right fucked. Told him I'll allow the additional cost but he needs to show me ALL the parts that come out of that thing.
http://www.caranddriver.com/features/c8-chevrolet-corvette-exclusive-what-to-expect-from-the-heart-stopping-mid-engined-zora-feature A mid-engined Corvette?
If those pictures are anything to go by it'll just look like yet another mid-engined supercar.
Embrace it, find more cosmetics you can strip off. Hell, take the rear fender off, replace the front fender with a strut-bar.. it gives the bike character :)
I'm probably going to have to, since I fucked up one of the heat guards putting it back on. Don't know how I managed it but it's not only bent, but I got a little pin-sized dent on it.
If GM's worried about tire squeeling, why not just implement an AWD drivetrain like most European markets do for FR designed cars? It's more practical and isn't as difficult to do as retooling the entire engine bay to sit in place of your two-year-old. [editline]24th April 2015[/editline]
Definitely man, the earlier the better. I have friends who race, and almost all of them regret not getting into it as early as possible.
Well for me at the moment, it's time, money, and space. I work so much between three jobs I hardly have the time to participate, don't have the money to build a car from the ground up for it, and don't have the space at the moment to actually build one. Obviously, nor do I have the knowledge either.

Only recently did one start really gaining traction (hue)

Is this the synchro?
Somewhat, yes. Usually a 3rd gear grind is from a wearing syncro that is often worn more by a weak pressure plate, dying throwout bearing, worn out clutch hydraulics/improperly adjusted master and MTF which is far past it's useful lifespan of 15-30k miles. Change your MTF first if you haven't, next check over your clutch master and/or replace the fluid, after that if you're on an original clutch and it's quite high miles you could begin to make plans to preemptively change it. After all of that, you'll just have to rebuild the trans.
was changing my pads and rotors and all was going well until the last cap head. fuuuuu :( gonna have to go invest in some screw extractors i think :/
rip that rubber boot off, get a really good pair of vice grips, some pb blaster and go to town. if that doesnt work break out the torch. also you can try to grind down 2 sides of it so you can get a wrench on it.
