Thanks a lot for the advice. It's a shame, I really liked how the 2012 looked. Could you recommend anything similar to it? The 2011 Civic looks really bland IMO.
The 8th gens look great in my opinion, the Si bumpers make a huge difference. I'm not aware of anything else remotely as new as you're looking at for 10k as far as Hondas. You could maybe look at a TSX maybe or a late year RSX Type-S. The EP3 01-05 Civic Si isn't a terrible buy either but they didn't hold value for shit and they came with the slowest engine of the K series platform like the RSX Base. However, that just makes them cheap and hold decent value now. I'd even suggest the R18A from the 8th gen Civics over that motor just because a downgrade should at least result in better mpg.
The Mazdas really aren't bad, I would love to have a Mazdaspeed3. I really hate the screen that's distastefully tacked onto the dash though. Anyone who thought this was a good idea for a base model should be shot for base model shaming.
I worked 40hours/week, was building a "racecar", and was a full time student last semester, get to work lol.
that's like 3 days work. That's nothing special.
Also I guess he mean economically.
I was driving around today and saw a super clean Toyota MR-2 Spyder with 60k miles on it, pretty much brand new looking condition. 8 grand. I think I found my next car.
I found a 1990 Infiniti M30 today with 80,000 miles for $6000. I'm hoping it doesn't sell before I get my hands on it
Got my first supposed-to-be car. My dad's first car as well. ( He drove it into a small tree, hence the dented front bumper :( )
It stood still in the same place for 26 years, even tough it had shelter it started to rust quite bad.
The grill says 525, but it might be possible that it's actually a 528. The engine isn't stock either but looks alright.
Still got a lot of work to do, I hope it's going to be worth it

Ahhh an E12. You might be able to wreck some parts off of it and buy another one, this one is to far gone.
It looks like a solid and complete car, it just needs a good clean and some love!
Word, a cleaning would make a world of difference, and a new windscreen. After that, who's to say.

I think it's a brilliant idea because of why it's there. These 'tacked on' screens are coming about because of a study done by NHTSA. The findings will soon make this location for screens mandatory in new passenger cars. This is being done because it keeps peoples eyes closer to where they should be if they decide to stare at the screen instead of what is actually important. It's also about information prioritization.
it's not too rusty unless there aren't any floor pans
$3.50 for the glue to reattach the mirror. Quick& easy repair
$3.50 for the glue to reattach the mirror. Quick& easy repair
uuuuuntill it falls off again.
In texas any glue don't work.
The Chrysler lives again although It needs a new radiator cap ,figure out whats up with the oil warning light, and fix the linkages to the carb as its snagging up on itself.

Dashes are already tall as hell in new cars, do we really want a radio that's obstructing the driver's view? I'm sure some adjustment and better dashboard layout would help tons with safety but in all seriousness if you have to hunt the entire dash to find the button you want because everything looks the same and there's over 50-100 buttons on the climate control area, that's not the result of anything but bad design. I always thought the secondary screen in the last gen Mazda 3 was placed well high into the dash but still out of the driver's view.
I wouldn't mind it as much if it didn't look like a cheap piece of shit for getting the base model, I refuse to buy a car which has stock navigation in it simply because the garbage unit is already years out of date by the time it rolls off the factory floor. I can't wait until we finally have some media hardware in cars that is internet connected and runs Android or at least even iOS.
I'm definitely aware of bad radio placements, I can't actually have a double din touch screen deck because it's so low on the dash and cups will rub/cut into the screen. I'd rather have cupholders in my car rather than a touch screen.
What ever happened to just having a HUD?
Crap like the Mazda3, Mercedes CLA, and BMW 1series with an unsightly tablet just stuck onto the dash is not a good trend for people who want their car to look like it was well thought out.
Thanks for installing a 7" Garmin I can't remove. Gag me with a spoon;

Should be an option not to have it it looks hideous and out of place IMO.

Lexus does a pretty good job with it I think, I just hate that you can't operate the radio without looking at it

If the oil light is on and there is oil in the motor, your oil pump or the pumo gear is messed up. If the lights on but theres oil, dont drive it. Pull the pan, maybe the pickup is plugged, pull the pump, etc.

I am going to check to make sure that the sensor is hooked up first. Its going to a shop so they can fix my fuckup with the brakelines so Ill get them to look at it if that doesnt fix it.
I dont have the time space or llift required to pull a pan and replace a pump.

40 hours is 5 days full time.
Don't you just hate it when you find the right car but you don't have a garage big enough to keep it in? :P

I don't know if you guys have heard about this, but I just bought automation yesterday and it's pretty fucking sweet.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/293760/
It's a game where you can design engines and cars from scratch. I don't know how realistic it really is, but I made an engine with the same bore and stroke as a 4.6 2v, with really similar parts, compression, and stuff, and I got a similar power curve as they do it real life. The really neat part is, it sounded just like a 4.6. There is some pretty powerful sound wizardry going on in this game, motors sound exactly like they should based on their specifics.

I like the Mazda RX-8's dashboard. It has a nice GPS screen that folds away when not in use.
I might give Automation a try, i want to try recreating my Golfs engine
Automation was pretty shit imo
isnt it still in beta?
My buddy is on vacay for a week, so he let me borrow his Shadow Aero 750. She's not much, but she has pipes and is a ton of fun to ride.
