Just finished school, and all the industrial classes had a barbeque, so a lot of "car people" came, literally just a bunch of sticker covered 4 cyl vagons with straight pipes and so on who tried to park right next to the grill, and were gently told to fuck off back to the student parking.
They floored it, and literally nothing happened. The noise was horrible but there was no acceleration whatsoever.
Then some genius arrives on a mobility scooter :v:

This guy has a 200sx as a daily driver and works a lot on engines, and made trim exhausts for a chainsaw when asked to weld a pipe for grading.
Hate to tell you but most cars of this decade have no steering feel or pedal feel. Toyota is a worse offender with this than Kia, though Kia's do have awfully light and uninspiring steering rigs. Hell you don't get an ounce of road feel in any BMW anymore unless if the PS pump has leaked all of it's fluid out.
You drive the biggest sensory deprivation tank from 2005, and drive a new average car, and the car that got flak back in the day for no feel suddenly has feel.
Can confirm. My meandering land ark 1998 Toyota and granny's Buick all have significantly more responsive steering than the 2013 Corolla I rented for a day. It's that damnable electronic steering manufacturers put in cars without properly tuning them.
I'd say that the Corolla was outright dangerous to drive, because it was always slithering from side to side on the road as you couldn't easily gauge how far to turn the wheel as it had literally no feedback; it was like playing a game on a racing wheel with a broken force feedback belt.
The K900 is better at being a lazy American barge than your Crown Vic. Smooth as butter, with the only downside being that the engine loves to rev a bit.
Go drive a few, it will change your opinion forever
The K900 is great car that I would totally drive, but it's at a totally different price point than the Crown Vic or Grand Marquis.
It's going for Cadillac or (poor, base level) MB money.

Our F-150 has EPS and it's pretty damn numb. It's not quite as numb as the Kia and Toyotas and Nissan I've driven though, you don't feel disconnected. It still takes a hand to turn it, rather than a finger. I'd still prefer hydraulics, though. My car feels more like a sports car than a Golf GTI thanks to its relatively heavy hydraulic steering that conveys what's happening to you, despite being slower and less sporty in every other way.
Anyone here owned a BMW 3 series? i really want one and figured by the end of next year i might be able to get one
[sp] I'll be 18 years old this is mad [/sp]

My F-250 at work is just like this, and I could hardly drive it in a straight line at first but got used to it in about 2-3 days, and after a week it felt completely natural. Still prefer the tractor steering in the Impreza though.
Only car I've ever driven with EPS is the Mini Cooper and Cooper S. One thing Ive noticed about it is it's pretty pressure sensitive, the more "umph" you put into steering the more that buzzing ass little motor puts out to turn the wheels.
Road feel isn't too bad on numbness, but your feed back is mostly hearing the motor whine when something on the road tries to pull the car either direction, or when you steer.
Only thing that is kinda off putting is not having to exert he-man levels of strength trying to turn the wheel with the engine off which is really pretty nice.

Got an E36 316 and just bought a spare yesterday, the engine is the weakest of all E36s but the comfort is great, the only "styling" that isn't over the top is M-tech styling, which isn't that expensive.
For a car that cost me 8500 nok(688 pound, which is really cheap in Norway), it's a rather good looking and incredibly comfortable car. If I had to buy a different brand in that price range it would be a volvo wagon or some ugly golf.
If you can afford it, get a 318is or 323 and upwards, or if you want to cheap out in the beginning you could get a 316i and swap to the 318is engine, you should be able to get it approved if you upgrade the rear brakes.
Wtf I just calculated it again and I paid 7k for it, 566 pound. Jesus christ that's cheap.
Finally found my oil pressure sensor didnt realise it was so far down on the block.
Co worker keeps parking too damn close to it so I have rouble opening the drivers door which I need to do to fix the brake-light switch.
Also may have figured out the issue with it running rich numbnuts never hooked up the negative to the electric choke.
Serj is gonna creame all over this slant. Solid cam, bigger valve springs, adjustable rockers, headers, clifford 4 barrel intake, and who knows what inside it. Started first crank, shakes the whole car at idle and torques like a motherfucker when you give it the beans.

You make me want to get a car hauler for that exact purpose.

Sounds good. Didn't make me cream myself because there was no jet engine sounds or "pishhh" sounds, but it is nice. Do not remove it or else. Also, was that a yellow car at some point or something? Or did it have a "fancy" "premium" painted interior like mine did?
Exterior did used to be a creamy banana color, interior is factory black tho
Im 50/50 on keeping the slant, i know a big block is a must in the future but this'll do... for now
Meeting a guy tomorrow to grab pretty well every thing this car is missing
Car haulers are SOOOOOOO useful, buy one!!
Well im 100% jealous.
Exterior did used to be a creamy banana color, interior is factory black tho
Im 100/100 on keeping the slant since its so much more interesting than putting abig block into yet another car on this green earth. In fact a big block is the last thing it needs.
Good to know sally. Good plan.
Imagine not being part of the A Body master race
That thing honestly sounds like a V8
sounds like a cammed 6 to me. definitely a cool sound

Thank you for the help, E36s are lovely! What about a diesel, I figured I could get maybe a 320d if I work for it, are they as good?

I had an E30 as my first car that I swapped an M30B35 into. Other than regular 350k km problems and some dumb stuff with the swap, it was a really fun car. extremely easy to work on too, did wiring for the swap myself and stuff.
[editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
the diesels generally make less power, but over all it's the same car.
Don't think there's a e36 320d, there's 318 and 325 diesel turbos iirc.
[editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
Also the car I'm scrapping looks better than mine and has gone half the distance, but because of all the fees it's a complete waste of money to fix. All it needs is a new engine.. Hasn't been driven for 9 years.

Wish my E12 would be able to idle :v:
Cylinder got rusty and now the start-engine isn't doing its thing :(
"Dude, go through the puddle!"

It wasn't just a puddle.....and the roof was open.

The interior, my camera and both of us faired no better. The car does however look kinda nice with a matte tan color though. I'll wash out the engine and probably leave it alone until it rains.
I'm taking the crown Vic to a burnout contest with my old worn out tires today. Unfortunately I only have one spare and the chances of one tire blowing before the other are not something I want to bet on.
[editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
Never mind I got this. I'm gonna put on one that's worn from being in the front and one that's worn in the middle from being on the back, then I'll overinflate the middle worn one a little so it blows first.
