Fuck you and fuck Canada. The body of a 70s duster would go for $900+ around me. If it drives you're looking at 2k minimum.
Got the MR2. I love it.

Is it counting different versions in the same game? I could see Skylines being number one just because there's like 300 of them in each Gran Turismo :v:
edit: That's definitely what's going on
http://www.igcd.net/vehicles.php?make=Nissan&model=Skyline&width=1680&page=8
you really don't see skylines that much outside of racing games, whereas Crown Vics show up everywhere if not as an available vehicle then as traffic or a static model
If we're only talking about playable cars and including cases where it's called something different to avoid licensing issues I wonder what it would be.
I feel like almost every non-licensed game has a Supra lookalike.

If they're counting each and every version of the Skyline then why not bundle the GT500 with the normal Mustang?

Anyone know of any other period posters like this? I wanna find some to hang around my room, all I've got are old Mack diesel ads from the 40s.

you see a lot of posters on this site, most everything is '60s and '70s but some older stuff slips in occasionally. you'll almost never see anything newer than 1980
I went to one of my friends houses today to try out his racing simulator he finally finished.
Holy shit I wish I had money for one of these things.
The only game he has right now is iRacing, so I didn't get to try any road cars but it was so fucking amazingly awesome.
It's powered by a custom computer he built with god knows what parts, but the case is huge and red and I'm guessing it is all very expensive. Running Windows 8 and whatnot. Sparco bucket seat on a frame connected to three 1080p computer screens. The screens were probably 25" each. Fanatec 3 pedal setup, 7 speed manual shifter, fanatec clubsport servo, and it all culminated in the most beautiful Fanatec BMW wheel. The buttons and paddle shifters had the most precise click to them, the wheel rotated perfectly smooth. But holy shit, the force feedback. My arms were sore after 30 minutes from the amount of force that servo can provide. I don't know what race cars feel like, but I am only used to driving cars with power steering that don't torque around too much when you hit a bump.
At first he set me up in a Lotus 79 at Lime Rock Park (which is cool because i've been to that track), and it was really hard driving. The pedals were very close together and I kept missing my shifts and confusing the pedals for one another. Then I tried a 911 RSR with PDK (on the car and using the paddles on the wheel irl) at Spa and after a few minutes warming up I managed to put down a 2:43 lap time while having a casual conversation and not even paying attention too much which surprised me. Just for shits and gigs I tried a Lotus 49 and all I managed to do was make it to 5k rpms and lose traction and wipe out every time. Afterwards I just did donuts for 5 minutes by going WOT and dumping the clutch.
One day I wanna have one of these. I had a wheel for my 360 but it was nothing compared to this. The one important thing I learned is that if I ever buy a car with paddle shifters, it should be one where the paddles stay on the steering column instead of the wheel because I missed so many shifting points while turning trying to find the paddles at odd angles.
edit: out of curiosity I did the maths. The wheel, servo, pedals, shifter, and chair are about $2000. That doesn't include the frame for mounting anything nor the stand for the wheels or shifter. So yeah, I think I am better off buying a miata (or two)

The GT500 wasn't released under the Ford Mustang name. They aren't counting the Nismo versions of Skylines if it makes you feel better.

The white one is complete and has some cool options like a folddown rear seat and some doohicky i didnt figure out
The red one is the better car, the white one is perfect for parts tho

Ill be keeping the red one, parting the white one. Tho i may sell the red one, idk, i have enough parts to make a running V8 car thats for sure!
Got the red one for $400 today, going back for the other for $400 tomorrow! So many $400 dusters!!
The white one would be cool if you left the body alone and just built it into a street machine. Totally different kind of sleeper.
You should totally make the Red into V8 Car.
Both are factory v8 cars, im using the white one to make the red one and my 72 complete
I want to get the red one driving so bad, it just looks cool as is.
The 72 I can have moving tomorrow provided everything goes good
So a wheel bearing went out on my Impreza and I can't afford the work, while it was 15 miles from home. Fun stuff.
First time doing work on the injection pump, I'm so frightened because it costs an absolute fortune to replace if you do anything wrong on it.
Basic DYI job though as I'm working on the simple part of it (not the part that costs 12k usd to replace if you make it go tits up).
The old thermostat for the mechanical fuel injection pump decided to die so I bought a new and replaced it. Thing is, the new one works so good that it pushes the pin down too far into the MFI rack causing the entire pump to lean out too much at idle so it just stalls when it gets around operating temperature. I can't get to the damn adjustment washers because of how the new thermostat works. Little comparison:

Old one on the left, new on right. Notice how the old one has adjustable washers on the end.
However I did massage the old thermostat and it sort of works ok. Still runs a bit weird on cold but when it gets some heat into the engine, it works alright. Also I made it run properly when hot too now. It just runs so nicely now. Too bad I recorded this on my phone, it sounds absolutely amazing now.

Even pops on the downrun like a real sports car :v:

you're making me angry over the internet. Stop.
I wish i could find a running car for 400 dollars.
I wish i could find a running car for 400 dollars.
They exist, but I've found out most of them are not on something like craigslist. They are more sitting in someone's yard, without a sign on it.
So i have a question for your guys, Assetto Corsa, or Project Cars?
I have already been playing Project Cars. I'll be honest with you guys, i hated it at first because i was so jaded, but it's actually a pretty decent little game and feels pretty realistic to me. How does Assetto Corsa compare? It looks great as well, and also very realistic. I play with a wheel and no assists besides ABS, because i can't feel the braking in Project Cars.

Fuck it, i bought it. I'll let you know what i think.

I wish I could find an insurance quote under 400 dollars a month.
I wish I could find an insurance quote under 400 dollars a month.
jesus h christ. Insurance for my truck AND my bike isn't even 250 a month. And I have full coverage on both.
What makes insurance companies hate you?
I thought $200 a month for my 11 year old civic LX was plenty enough. $400 sounds terrible. At least with that i get all my aftermarket stuff covered.

I haven't played Project Cars yet, but I really like Assetto Corsa. It has nice force feedback, physics, modding and online play.

I just bought DiRT Rally, it's Early Access and on "sale" currently too. I played it for a little bit with a controller. I really loved DiRT 2/3 and figured this would be similar, holy damn is it not.. The controls are super unforgiving and realistic, I smash into pretty much everything and finish like a minute below the leader.
If you have a wheel I think it would be tons of fun, all of the "sim" games seem to have pretty terrible car selection and unless you want to race GT3/F1 cars or a novelty reliant robin or other shitbox you're basically screwed. That's pretty much the reason I've never even contemplated buying a wheel or any PC racing games.
