Doit doit doit. No excuses. one man's pride is not to be messed with.
Sure. You wanna make a $15,000 donation?
So I'm riding in the back of my own car right now. God damn Ford knew what they were doing when they designed the back of this thing. I am soooooooooo comfortable.
Would it be tough to stick a 400 or 440 on a 30s Ford frame? I can get either of those for $400 and there's a 34 Ford frame+body for $900 around here. Motor mounts are nbd, but I'm not sure if the frame is long enough to accommodate that big of a motor without lengthening it. I'm thinking about doing a 50s style greaser rod, so no fenders or hood panels. Just the body, radiator and grille.

I would definitely use an electric water pump and radiator fans to save room. Probably going to have to fab custom headers.
I want to paint the block black, copper coat the valve covers and do copper or bronze pipes. As for the fan, since it's gonna be all open, I really don't want an ugly e-fan stuck in there. If I can get away with it I want a big metal belt driven fan with no housing. I have access to a metal shop so I can do custom anything for material cost. I'm probably gonna build the motor itself fairly tame to keep heat down, I just want it to look cool.
We didn't learn how to plug tires in auto tech, they're apparently not allowed to teach it anymore as a valid fix.
Yeah, the reason for that is because plugs can cause bead separations which can blow out the tire and cause an accident since people are too stupid to stop driving when their car starts shaking and tramlining everywhere.
My old set of tires had more plugs in them than the great dike of Holland. Most of them were in for at least 8 months and worked fine. No vibration, no leaks, nothing. Actually come to think of it those were the same tires I put back on for the burnout contest, and they still held after that.
What kind of Oil catch tank would you guys recommend ? There are expensive ones and cheap ones

I just dunno if electroplating would stick for long and I don't have the money to machine new valve covers out of copper stock :v: I'd do the body in a low glass black and probably cut classic hot rod flames out of thin copper sheet, then weld them to the body - rather than painting flames on. Would look pretty sweet in the end I think but I don't know if a 34 is the body style I want to go with, would rather do a 30. I have an idea for how to attach the flames to the bodywork without showing weld seams on the outside.
When i get a driver's License, recommend me a good used hatchback car for less than 2500€ and runs on Diesel. I live in Spain, just so you know.

I am so hyped for tomorrow. Alfa Romeo Guilia reveal! http://www.autoedizione.com/scoop-alfa-romeo-giulia-in-the-metal/
I dunno about prices but look for an 80s Mercedes (good ring to that) wagon. You can't kill the Merc diesels.
That's a really dumb idea unless if you have a repair fund and time to work on it yourself. I love old Mercedes-Benzes, but cheap wagons of that era are a horror show. You need to pay at least 4000 euros for a good one or you will be out in the driveway changing spheres and bleeding hydraulic lines for weeks.
got to ride in a GTR yesterday. Holy shit what a car.
My dad got an offer on his truck to trade for an 88 Camaro IROC. He hasn't given me full details on it yet, but that could be cool.

This doesnt seem right :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/8TorfGo.jpg[/t] Good thing I had a extra one laying around
You should ask him to mullet over that for a moment.
Redneck chariot or not, 3rd gens get me rock hard. I fucking love them. I wish Chevy didnt go full retard on trans/engine options. If they had a proper 350/5spd option then they'd be worth sooooo much more. Instead Chevy paired the manual trans with the garbage 305, and the 350 with the 700r4. It's a good trans yeah but its a truck trans, and as such is full of slush and shitty shift points.
I don't see the point in buying a 3rd gen camaro when you're just going to get BTFO on straights and corners by an SVO :^)
Last I heard irocs were one the better cornering cars of the 80s Not that that's saying a whole lot [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] I love both foxbodies and 3rd gen camaros
I have a real soft spot for the G body/Metric chassis. Something about G body elcos and monte SS's gets me stiff, GNX's even moreso
Heh just saw an ss Monte.
So I'm riding in the back of my own car right now. God damn Ford knew what they were doing when they designed the back of this thing. I am soooooooooo comfortable.
Did you get arrested?
I don't see the point in buying a 3rd gen camaro when you're just going to get BTFO on straights and corners by an SVO :^)
That's okay at least it wont break down every quarter mile :^) At least the 350 made power too. The turbo svo was hilariously gutless.
I think the svo made more power than the 5.0 of the same year :v: And probably the 305 until the late 80s...
I really like the look of both the Foxbody and the 3rd gen GMs, and I don't care too much about how fast they go, so really I'll take either just because I have a weird hard-on for 80s cars.
I think the svo made more power than the 5.0 of the same year :v: And probably the 305 until the late 80s...
The svo made 185hp stock, and was upped to 200 before production ended. The 305 made 200hp stock, and the 350 was 245. Something feels so... right about the 80's. Everything- the music, the art, the cars, the movies. I wish I could have been a kid in the 80's.
