I like the idea of a GM lz9
Dude ford heads won't go on a 350.....
I wasn't talking about using them on a 350. I meant he has several of them and multiple small blocks laying around from Ford and Chevy customers who never end up using them.

Gotcha! That'd be the cheapest and easiest route, coolest route would be either an LS OR you could do a turbo 4.3 v6 like the Rotsun!
True, but I kinda don't really want to do a turbo build on something that'd just be a toy car to begin with. The car's not in the best of shape, I really don't know the mileage on it, and I personally find rotaries boring and not really that great while the car is small, lightweight, can pack a punch already, and just gives a different feel than a comfortable slow land barge daily.
Blahh if you think rotaries are boring how can you not think 350s are boring? Seriously, do something crazy. Swap in a straight 6 out of a jeep, put it on boggers and go freewheeling.
got pulled over for a few different reasons just now, 2 cops, 0 tickets. I love being white
I slapped a 66CC 2 stroke engine to my road bike this week.
The rear sprocket for the engine is off centre by about 3mm, not enough to detach the chain when I'm going at high speeds but just enough to get some annoying vibrations. Will this damage the bike or engine in the long run? The chain goes from tight to tighter and back to tight again as the wheel turns. Here's a diagram.

yeah it will. if you can't get that cheapo rag joint thing centered then throw it away and have Angel Cortez on facebook hook you up with a CNC adapter for $50. you'll destroy your chain and your wheel like it is
[editline]27th June 2015[/editline]
while you're at it throw away the chain tensioner, if you need to use half links do it, or alternatively you can use turbobuick1's spring loaded tensioner ($40) and turn it from a toy into real reliable transportation.

I never said they weren't. But $200 for a swap isn't a bad start.
while we're at it here's my bike. the sprocket on mine is a Manic Mechanic sprocket adapter, which I got long before Angel was around. it ran me about $90

and a more recent photo of the engine

that thing is capable of 55 mph on flat ground
here's that angel cortez guy

he's a brilliant machinist and barely out of high school, he's going places for sure
Shipped the old engine of my car out, getting closer to completion

My car now for the first time since I bought it has functioning AC.
Tomorrow just after work Imma have the boss dude give me some schrader valves as one of them leaks a tiny bit, then bleed it and put some better freeon and some dye in it sos I cans checks for leaks.
Holy shit it'll be nice to NOT cook while driving, along with not baking any passengers.
Aluminum 5.3's aren't super expensive, there's absolutely no reason to not megasquirt an LS motor. This isn't 1970, EFI isn't magical wizardry and it's piss easy to do if you're smart enough to use a forum.

JZ's are heavy as shit.
I know they're heavy fat ass motors but most people get butthurt if you go with an LS. Any old 350 would be dumb, but a junkyard 5.3 would be the tits.

I swear to god I've seen this car driving around.
Seriously if you're gonna swap something into the rx7 can I have to rotary out of it. I'll give you like, 20 bucks. If you're east coast i'll go fuckin get it myself.
It's late. Tomorrow I'm mixing paint for the '74 Dart, to paint on Monday, see how much of it I get done, then thin and paint. Tomorrow night or sunday I am going to start building a drop splitter for the '68 which should help direct more air to the radiator instead of around it, and give me a nice place to set the oil cooler in a protective environment.

the car looks like a blushing anime face
When the supposedly weak plastic OEM bov holds boost better than your MR bov.
That's another ~$200 added to the 'to buy' list
Also having to drive your racecar to work because your two dailies are fucked and then double parking it sideways so cunts don't park their cars next to it and fuck it. Don't worry I'm only double parking in these two retardedly shaped bays that are seperate from the rest of the car park.

I'm in VA. Still have to wait for her to decide what she's doing with the car.

Awww shit, i'd totally come get it. I'm in NC.
I'll keep you posted once I hear back from her. There's another one for sale with a bad motor near me I've been considering offering about $500 or $700 for for the same project, but of course, I doubt you'd be interested in a bad engine.
I just want one regardless. Rotaries tickly my dickly.
So... could I just take it or does my $20 dollars still stand.
We can discuss it when the time comes. Again, no garauntee I'll get either, but if I get an affordable chance to get one, I am taking it.

Speaking of rotaries, one crashed at goodwood this year...

So, I got excited and mixed the colors for the fiance's '74 and I just kept mixing in colors till she said stop. This is 1/2 gallon of Rustoleum Royal Blue, 1/8 gallon of Gloss white, and 1/8 gallon of forest green. She was looking for an aquatic color and I think I nailed it.
I did just the front and back clip for today. Hopefully the paint is dry enough later for a wet sand and recoat. It turned out pretty nice so I'm a believer. The only issue I'm facing now is random leaves falling on it during the drying process. I thinned it out 1:8 about if anyone attempts it, and used a weenie roller with minimal nap. It's not quite 100% covered and a tiny bit rough, but I'd say the first coat covered exceptionally well. Tomorrow I'll do the doors. Those require removing quite a bit of hardware, and wanted to focus on smaller areas. The two sections i did right now took minimal paint, so I have plenty left.

So Fordlord, if you still hang out here, not sure how you did your Subaru, but something went wrong with your application i think. I recommend you try it again. So far the total cost here is $62.00. I have polishing compound and sandpaper already though. The problem with using rustoleum is that you have to wait almost 8 hours to get a second coat.
