Hmm, I think I might know someone with parts for it, should you buy it. Looks like a fairly good deal though.
Research tells me that the shock assemblies can be replaced by ones by Arnotts for 300~ a piece with a lifetime warranty and the cam tensioner is in a relatively easy to access area.
I'm fairly certain I can do the shocks myself too.
You think it's worth putting money into it at 200k miles though?
The Lincoln Mk. LT is really common in my area, actually. You see them with 150s all the time. I don't know why you'd ever buy a luxury truck, but I guess some people just want to be rednecks but are too posh to actually do it right.
My neighbor has one and it's on giant rims and low profiles. It literally looks like a horse drawn carriage with wheels like that. :v:

I'm pretty sure this isn't a real thing, I can't find anything on it.
Plus it's not hard to buy decals and other accessories the blazer/bravada used and put them on your s10. they're the same truck.
I hooked up my car PC with what I have so far. Instead of mounting it on the dash, which I need to build a bracket for, I screwed the RAM mount into the unused cupholder ashtray. The PC is just laying on the floor of the trunk, I'll be bolting it to the wall later. I don't have the USB hub hooked up, so all I have attached is the touchscreen. All the wiring is hastily ziptied and sitting in my center console. And since I can't get the aux working, I have the bluetooth dongle paired with the car stereo for audio.
However, it's promising so far.

Hey guys, need some help picking out a new stereo for my truck.
I have a 2006 Ford F150, I know it's a 2DIN receiver slot. I've been looking at Crutchfield and am pretty sure I want a Jensen VX3020. Does anyone have any experience with Jensens and/or that particular model? Is it good? It has good reviews but I'd like some personal opinions.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_110VX3020/Jensen-VX3020.html?tp=20217
Also looking for suggestions for other 2DIN touchscreen receivers. I'd like to keep it $200 or under.
So. I think I found why my car wasn't starting.

Thanks to clutch2, I was pulling off my ignition switch to replace it and found this. Oh boy. Hopefully that's all it was.
Are you planning on painting the Dart to match the interior?

What the hell is that, part of the ignition tumbler??
Also, Snoberry, for DDIN touchscreens the $200 price range is going to be a tough find. The Jensen is about as low level as far as manufacturers as I'd be comfortable going. I've used some Jensen touchscreens and they're in between BOSS (junk) and Pioneer (mid level quality). Not as nice of a touch interface, and the it can be sort of clunky, but I generally don't see them grenade.
I would personally suggest ponying up another $50 and getting this, if you want bluetooth (you do, trust me, lol)

I love that headunit for the price. It's last year's model so it's a bit cheaper, but this year's model (the 2700) sucks ass, they screwed it all up with a very poor redesign.

Yep. It's called the Ignition Switch Actuator Pin.
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=4701354&cc=1433753&jnid=926&jpid=0
Basically, when you turn the key it pushes that little plastic thing into the ignition switch and tells the computer "Yo, dawg. There's a key in me, get ready to dump some dinosaur juice into the cylinders to make some cool ass explosion and shit."

Good deal. Glad you (most like) got it figured out!!
On my Corolla the ign switch tells the computer "onii-chan... it's in.. give me a couple seconds to get ready and you can start moving.. k onii-chan?"

How much of an improvement over the Jensen VX3020 is this Pioneer stereo? They both have bluetooth. Is the extra $50 worth it when you factor in Crutchfield will give me the mounting equipment I need for the Jensen for free when I buy it? What about the Pioneer AVH-170DVD or the AVH-X1600DVD? Crutchfield has those two for $229. Do they have bluetooth?
Nope, the 1XXX Pioneer series doesn't have bluetooth. They're nice radios, that's for sure, if you don't want bluetooth.
You can snag up the kit/harness for that truck for probably about $15 tops on Amazon or Ebay, so it's not a huge cost difference. I personally think it's worth it, kinda like Driving a nice Impala vs a rickety Ford Escort.

So for the Pioneer in total I'm looking at $265ish vs $200, which is right at the max of my budget.
I mean don't get me wrong I appreciate the suggestion but I have a budget for a reason. Are Jensens shit? Is there any particular reason I shouldn't buy it other than "Pioneer is better"? Cause $200 is the max I can spend on it.
Can you recommend a better receiver for $200?
Also what's the difference between the Jensen VX3010, VX3012, VX3020, and VX3022? They're all the same price, is one better than the others?

Wow, that's a really good find. Can you have a look at that and see if there are any VDO markings or Mercedes stars on it? Early 2000s Benzes can have an issue that causes the same symptoms, but the cars get scrapped before they can be diagnosed properly.
I'm glad you figured out something, I think you've got the problem and solution to your no start.

Only simple on the whole assembly is an "Mg" with a hexagon around it. It's on the cylinder housing though, not on the actuator pin. Didn't know this was also a Merc. part. I know the electronic ones were, but not the key-turn ones.
Are you planning on painting the Dart to match the interior?
Negative. But the paint is getting worse on the trunk, so I will either be repainting the entire car this color, "Irridium Bronze" with the white roof still, or "Plum Crazy" with a white roof. The black and white interior as a whole matches the outside of the car just fine.

I'm not sure if it's a Merc part, but a ton of parts on early LX cars are Merc parts. The LX platform is a steel only hybrid of the W220 S-Class and W210 E-Class. The front suspension parts are even identical to non airmatic 220 series cars, while the rear is copypasted from the 210. I'll try and see if they are the same part at some point, but they might not be because of the century keys in Benzes.

It's a unique choice. Most people match interior/exterior when restoring. Rock on - I'm not criticizing.

Yeah, I noticed that when I redid the entire front end suspension. They were all the exact same as the Benz. I know off the top of my head that the transmission, transmission valve body, suspension, and some design of the HEMI is related to Benz. Oh and the 4.7 "Magnum" is actually a Benz engine or something. Chryser sure likes to ask for help from other buisnesses. Which is cool. I know I need to buy an O-ring for my transmission, it's actually cheaper at the Mercedez dealerships.
Since I'm new to this thread, what's the consensus here on a 1999 Honda Civic sedan?

They make good DD's.

I know what you mean by matching the interior, and it looks right in some cases. That's what mopar always actually did - they'd put a pure blue interior in a blue car and such, but I'm more a fan of the interior being a little different but still matching. The car came with a forest green painted interior with green upholstery, door panels, green steering wheel, and moss green carpet - in an orange car. And that's how the car was ordered. It did not work well at all.

That's because late '90s through late-aughts Chrysler was Merc-owned. Hense a lot of DC markings too - Daimler Chrysler.

Jensen's aren't shit, but they're not great, either. If BestBuy still carried a Jensen touchscreen I'd suggest going to play with it, but unfortunately they don't. Saying that the Pioneer is simply 'better' sounds basic, but it's really true. It's the difference between using Windows 98 and Windows Vista. The archaic interface and lack of settings just puts me off of Jensens in comparison. The bluetooth mic on the Jensens is lackluster, too.
The VX3010 is a single-din popout screen, stay away if you can fit a DDIN, popouts as a whole are toublesome.
The VX3012 looks like a newer model of VX3010.
VX3020 is a normal DDIN, and the VX3022 looks like a more recent version of if.
Out of them all, I'd get the VX3022, since it's the newest. Will it be a decent headunit? Probably. Would I save the extra money to go with the Pioneer? Yes, without a doubt.
Also, here's parts!
Dash kit;

Harness, assuming you DONT have a factory sub;

There is also the Pioneer 270BT.
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH270BT-Double-BLUETOOTH-Receiver/dp/B00O8B7CKS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1430101361&sr=1-1&keywords=pioneer+270+bt
This is more in the price range you're looking at, but compare pictures of the 2 and pay attention to the use interface. It's more along the lines of the Jensens, in that it's poorly designed (graphically, jagged edges, etc). While I must admit this unit is fast (surprisingly fast, for how bad it looks, lol) I just can't stand having an ugly used interface.
Mull that over, and maybe even swing by a BestBuy and have a look at the 2700's user interface, that's similar to the 2600, just reskinned a bit. (if the 2700 on display there even works.. mine die every 5 days or so, like I said.. I hate the 2700, lol). Then play with the 270BT if they have it on display, you'll immediately see the difference. For the Jensen, take the 270BT and make the touch recognition slightly clunkier (not awful, just slightly) and that'll be about what you can expect from the Jensen.
Take it like this. You have $20,000 to spend on a nice car. You can afford a new Impala for that. Save up another $6,000 and you can have Mercede's entry level car brand new instead. Not that the Impala is bad.. but if you drive the Mercedes you'd probably think 'damn.. this is better.'
That's my advice, anywho.
So I never usually come around here, just lurk a lot. Currently I drive a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. Love everything about it, except the stereo. I was thinking about a touchscreen receiver, but I really want to make sure I choose something Im happy with as I have never done anything with car audio before. My old car had a really nice premium sound system in it and I have only just discovered the horrors of stock sound.
As for speakers, I have four 6.5" in all four doors, and I was thinking of upgrading to these:
http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPE-6000-6-5-2-Way-Speakers/dp/B0038NMC8O/ref=au_as_r?ie=UTF8&Make=Chevrolet%7C47&Model=Equinox%7C2487&Year=2005%7C2005&n=1077068&newVehicle=1&s=car&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive
And Im really at a loss as for the receiver. I have looked at quite a few nice pioneers but I'm worried that some of the plastic might make the car look trashy. I want something that looks really nice and refined, and might fit in with this interior:

As you can see, the Equinox really has a nice set up for a touchscreen receiver with its massive center console.
Any recommendations or help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I got you!
Those SPE-6000 Speaks are pretty solid for all around performance for that price. They've got a decent bass note to them, while the tweeter is still fairly crisp. Night and day vs. Chevy paper cone junk.
The only difference I'd say is if you wanted a 'bass-y' speaker, AKA as much bass as you can without adding a sub, bump up to the Alpine S-series;
http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-SPS-610-frac12-2-Way-Speakers/dp/B00HZAF0TE/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1430102701&sr=1-2&keywords=sps-610
Hands down best speaker I've ever used when trying to get bass from just a headunit with 20x4 watts.
If you're worried about the interior looking bad, make sure to get a paint matched install kit;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radio-Stereo-Installation-Mounting-Dash-Kit-DD-METRA-95-3302S-/361264250659?fits=Model%3AEquinox&hash=item541d06ff23&vxp=mtr
When it comes to DDINs the sky's the limit, really. Answers these for me and I'll advise from there;
-What phone do you use?
-Do you use it for calls, music, pandora, etc a lot?
-Do you want built in navigation?
-Do you want to be able to run nav from your phone onto the unit?
-Do you want a CD/DVD player, or just multimedia (phone, usb drive, etc)
