Clutch and serj do
Although I think clutch is still banned for a few more hours
A lot of (modern cars at least) have some way of mounting roof racks. Mine has these two bars that go along the sides of the roof that the rack clamps to. You could make something that works with that.
That two bar system is kind of garbage. I have way to make that work - which is basically U bolts holding the rack to the supplied OEM crossbars but the rack is then limited to the strength of the crossbars. It will be stronger because now they'll be attached sufficiently, but still not great. Part of the money if I get funded will be R and D for paying people to bring me their cars so I can ensure that my fitments are all correct.
Shit, that's fucking sweet, but wood stuff would just look tacky on a crown Vic.
I dunno. Any car that has a ski rack for no reason, could have a wood rack for no reason.

For instance... that would look sweet in maple, with a nice wood fairing across the top... way better than that. Wood's never tacky.
Any other thoughts on where to spam? I'll hit reddit tonight. Never been on it before though. I'm just home for a quick break because the mail man dropped off a new toy. A Syma x5c1. Pretty fun for $50...
started it up for the first time today. She runs like a motherfucker!!!!

sideskirts are stock, front is mostly stock except the lip. lots of flaring at the rear though.

How much do you need though? My car has a max roof load of 100kg(220lbs)
Wasn't someone here way interested in shortbed stepside trucks? What are your thoughts on this '77 gmc?
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/5042203460.html
I've been throwing around the idea of getting something like a jeep, but I figured if I'm going to get something inefficient, I might as well get something somewhat useful.
Are you fucking serious.
[editline]15th July 2015[/editline]
In other news, I want my 95 Maxima back. Scrapped it in '07 after I put a considerable dent in it. Still regret it.
Are A32 Maximas / Cefiros / I-30's still a thing in the US? Hardly any left where I come from (Germany), and exactly one where I live today (island of La Palma).
[t]http://i.imgur.com/SsWHw9b.jpg[/t]
:saddowns: There was more wrong with it than that, though.
[editline]15th July 2015[/editline]
It's the only one of my cars that features regularly in my dreams, too.
[editline]15th July 2015[/editline]
Can someone pls win the lottery and give me some money? The handful of A32 Maximas currently on sale in Germany are dirt cheap, but it'd be a major undertaking getting it to the canary islands.
There's actually one sitting right across the street from me. It sat in my neighbor's garage for almost three years, and he recently died. So they're trying to sell it off or they'll just wind up scrapping it. I still see a handful of them around here, but they've got that nasty Northeast body rot going on from years of winter driving. The U13 Altimas are still around too, albeit in much fewer numbers than a few years back.
Also I got bored and put a boost gauge on my car. It fits perfectly in the little dashboard storage cubby, and running the signal line wasn't too bad. Just had to go through the driver side wire grommet that passes through the fender and into the engine bay:
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/DG1x2J.jpg[/t]
I wound up tapping into the recirculation valve's vacuum line, it seems to provide accurate readings. Sits at around 20 inHg idle and goes to ~10-12psi under boost.
How much do you need though? My car has a max roof load of 100kg(220lbs)
You only need as much as you intend to carry. The cross bars that come stock carry that much, but the crossbars bow down and look bad. What you intend makes my life easier, and certainly makes the racks cheaper by far. I could charge a lot less if you use an existing roof crossbar, and then simply U bolt my rack onto it with some nice included hardware, and it would work. Maybe I just offer the universal bars as an option if you don't have anything up there to mount to.
I just paid a couple marketers some change to post the link on a bunch of stuff. $5.00 for about 40,000 potential views (confirmed) and am still looking for other routes. I see a few things go up on kickstarter and make the goal and then some, on the first day. But this isn't a tech idea so I may just have to put in the actual work to promote. Anything else I can look for besides reddit?

Why shouldn't I
Call DP.
Seriously, call DP. He will help you out.
My town frowns on projects in the street... I wonder how soon I could get it to pass inspection.
I just watched your kickstarter video

Is my thank you note extra special for being first?
Unicorn? Next time tell them its a Rhinoceros.
Convinced my boss to get his 30-40s chev out of storage and do something with it,he may be taking it to a car show on the 18th.I really want to have my Chrysler on the road then (things have come up outside of control that have stopped the flow of money into it).
Also I will have to do something I strongly dislike,Rent a Uhaul truck last time I did so I ended up stranded on the highway outside edmonton in -47 weather when the piece of crap broke down.
Edmonton? I'm just east of there, where are you at? If you'd need a tow I'd be happy to help. Also if your close my grandpa has the exact same new yorker as yours that we were just gonna rip the 440 outta that he'd likely let you have any parts off of.

I really want it but right now I have nowhere to put it I think. If you happen to go check it out, lemme know how it looks though. I texted the guy and he says he doesn't know if the motor's froze or anything. I might ask a couple friends and see if they'll let me stash it on their land but I'll get a ticket if I bring it to my house in the shape it's in.
Also I'm two and a half hours away so I wouldn't ask you to do that but I appreciate the offer :v:

You dont have to ask. You just gotta wave money.,
Two and a half hrs away......
Soo thats......
200$ in fuel?
100$ in trailer fees....
Lets make it happen!
If you want me to go scout it I will. No prob.
I know this weekend i'm goign to be busy, ontop of my three new additions to the gasoline burning family I got my dads old bassboat! So Im goign to clean it, throw new carpet and new everything in her.... Fuck the moped!

It will be for sure. I wonder if i have to say thank you if the project isn't funded. Then maybe it's potential thank you cards. I had fun reading over some people's gift rewards. $50 gets you a jacket. $100 gets you TWO jackets! (kickstarter prohibits bulk prizes) but they do it anyway... I'm just surpised a vertical record player is a needed commodity...
I really doubt I'll be able to take it in due to the lack of a place to put it. I'll ask around tomorrow and see if anyone will let me fix it up at their place but I'm not holding my breath. I feel stupid passing up a complete 47 for $550 but if there's no room there's no room. I'll let you know what ends up happening though.

Also on a semi related note.

Thanks for the offer though.
I jotted that down so you can take it out of your post if you want. Thanks, I'll let you know.

This one could be good or bad.
Has a lot of work done, but it depends on if it was done right.
The entire front clip+doors are not original (not offered until at least '81)
New PCM came in
Apparently installing the new PCM also somehow removed a lead weight in the engine somewhere because god damn she sounds like she actually has 8 cylinders now and drives like she has 10
I'm going to be careful now, I'm used to driving the car on the sporty side with the restrictions on and I don;t wanna put it through the back end of a civic
So uh
