Just drove my Supra for the first time. I have such a hard on, I can't wait till it's ready to get on the road. It's a whole other feeling driving a 3.0L with actual torque than the 1.6 Civic. It's a non turbo, so it's not savage by any means, but compared to the Civic, it's a big step up.
i'm interested in getting a third party head unit (Pioneer DEH-X6700BT), and it has siri activation when you press and hold the dial does anyone know if google now on android recognizes the siri activation command and will trigger?
I got a CB
You only need as much as you intend to carry. The cross bars that come stock carry that much, but the crossbars bow down and look bad. What you intend makes my life easier, and certainly makes the racks cheaper by far. I could charge a lot less if you use an existing roof crossbar, and then simply U bolt my rack onto it with some nice included hardware, and it would work. Maybe I just offer the universal bars as an option if you don't have anything up there to mount to. I just paid a couple marketers some change to post the link on a bunch of stuff. $5.00 for about 40,000 potential views (confirmed) and am still looking for other routes. I see a few things go up on kickstarter and make the goal and then some, on the first day. But this isn't a tech idea so I may just have to put in the actual work to promote. Anything else I can look for besides reddit?
I was talking about these two bars that go longitudally on the sides of the car, the cross bars clamp to these, you could probably also clamp to those and make the frame as strong as you like to avoid bending.
is that yes coming from owning the unit? or what
I would assume both Google Now and Siri use the old school Voice Dial command that was built into many headsets and bluetooth devices. If they don't, whichever doesn't support it is insanely retarded.
is that yes coming from owning the unit? or what
Not that unit, but I own a AVH unit and another DEH unit, which do it.
Word, can confirm.
thx guys i'm shoving this shit in a 95 taurus, should i just cough up the 65 bucks and have the nerd herd do it, or do it myself
Depends how good you are with wires and solder/crimp. It's usually just matching colours to a picture/list (for US cars), grab the old frame out and pop the new one in. I've done it several times, save for the wires (standard connectors for the win)
if you know how to read and arent color blind literally anybody can do a shitty twist and tape job, and crimping/soldering is cheap and easy so I say try it.
Hahahaaaa, just got another random compliment on my car from a stranger. This time it was the kid at the drive thru window at taco bell. He looked it over then asked me If I was a real cop. I looked at him with a straight face and said "I'm not legally obligated to tell you". That bastard gave me a hardshell, I asked for a softshell. Fine, We're even.
I got a CB
Let me crank up my midnight special linear and see if I can skip to you. Also cbs are cool. I like talking to drivers.
Yeah DP my only friend with room for the car is an hour out of town so it wouldn't be practical for me to work on it there. Oh well :(
thx guys i'm shoving this shit in a 95 taurus, should i just cough up the 65 bucks and have the nerd herd do it, or do it myself
I'd say make the nerd herd do it, but I'm lazy. Also, ten points for the Chuck reference.
I am going to put a CB into the Chrysler.
Had a CB in my old car, apparently nobody in the south bay uses one. Got the antenna balanced and everything, got fuckall but the super Alabaman.
'95 Taurus is a cake car, if you want to learn how to install radios that's a good one to learn on. Keys to remove the old radio, cage slides and gets locked into the existing hole, solder up the harness and plug it in, then slide the radio in!
I've got a CB in my truck, a peaked cobra 29 with a swing mod. not many people in the area use CB though, just truckers, forestry service, and occasionally offroaders

Well I found out something interesting. Here's the same camper in 2013 in Abbotsford BC at a car show. And here it is in 2014 on someone's blog because they thought it looked weird. http://bangshift.com/bangshiftxl/right-wrong-1964-mercury-park-lane-camper-sale/ It's been around Abbotsford/Surrey quite a bit. Oh and big surprise it's still for sale.
I can only imagine that trunk is rusted all to hell.

I got a tweaked uniden bearcat 980 in the truck works pretty well with a firestik firefly on the fender

It looks to be a spare tire holder off the front of a truck. You dont see grill mounted spares anywhere anymore.
I have a CB, but no antenna or (working) handset.
real pros have a police scanner [editline]17th July 2015[/editline] not actually... While possible, its felony
