Sounds like it's worth looking into, either way! Maybe he'll even have an '83 Vette you can pick up ;)
Despite the hole in the bumper, peeling paint, multiple dings, and the fact that the car is totaled (front frame bent a few mm out of whack from the incident with my sister), I find it hard to part with my 2000 Nissan Sentra. Might just be that appeal of "my first car".
I really hope the tyres of the future lay down chrome skid marks. That's the only thing I want from them. Would've liked to have posted my car with anet-leg+launch control on but you can only do so much with one go-pro and go pros suck at capturing sound.
Could always run an external mic, when done right it sounds pretty great - this guy put it somewhere in the engine bay
Driving home from the gym, go in to the left lane to make a left turn, pull into the intersection a bit. Looks open, one guy signals to turn left in the opposite lane so I pop my truck in gear and roll ahead and then the motherfucker backs out last minute and almost kills himself on my front clip!! If it wasnt for my finicky clutch and how slow first gear is i'd be writing out an insurance statement right now /rant-ish Unrelated, any else's vehicle keep the oil abnormally clean? I got 317k km on my 01 cummins and after 2300km it still looks the same bright gold from when I put it in, last oil change (15k km) was the same, just a tint darker Feels good knowing your engine is healthy!
Dodge Van racing in Japan :v: Pretty badass actually
So, my dad says that one of his park rangers is selling a "2002 Chevy Cobalt" for $600 and the issues with the car are "dirty interior", "hole in muffler", "bald tires", etc. Small shit. Considering Cobalts were announced in '04, I wonder what kind of car this actually is. I feel that either I could (a) upgrade from my Nissan Sentra or (b) fix up the small issues and turn it around for a profit (or less college expenses).
cavalier
If the car is black I'm buying it and sticking a flashing Knight Rider LED on the front, no questions asked.
learned a lesson today [thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/-stq.jpg[/thumb] don't put stub length drills in a holesaw. jobber length is the way to go
can someone give me an accurate explanation on Bump Stops and what they do besides protect from bottoming out, if anything. I'm having the hardest time finding material on this. One of mine is completely obliterated, so thats my next easy fix.

Balljoints or CV joints could break/fly apart, control arms could contact the chassis, body, tires and other things or your wheels/tires can smash into fender liners, chassis rails or seams and other similar areas. Many cars are designed to "turn into" the bumpstops on a tight or hard corner, most newer vehicles will have a progressive bumpstop which acts like a secondary spring of sorts in a way at full compression.

I'm working at travelling fairgrounds and haven't seen my [sp]citroen[/sp] car in 3+ months. Work stops in the end of september and the inspection on that thing is in october. Have to fix the exhaust, change handbrake cables, probably change some warped rotor. I hope october is now very rainy because no garage
Hope u guys got spare money for scale models [editline]21st July 2015[/editline] Also, Lego Speed Champions
Welp. The Alfa is getting part-ex'd tomorrow so I thought I'd keep something from it! [t]http://i.imgur.com/7Ax95rU.jpg[/t]

I get way too sentimental over cars to part them out. The stripped husks make me feel sad.
should have waited for the new Giulia dude
It just looks.....meh I also prefer GT cars too so a 5 door saloon isn't really my thing.
The only way I could ever part something out was if I knew if would never be fixed and it would be providing parts that are not made anymore, so that other vehicles could live.
If you're on about me saying part-ex'd I'm on about part exchanging it for money towards the new car. ie trading in.

My first car was a 01 cavalier that needed a radiator, I paid $300 for the car, probably put $700 into it for the year and a half I drove it (brakes, tires, dumb shit), and sold it for $2400. Kinda felt bad selling it for that much lol.
Can I buy a decent prelude/miata/integra with $3000?
Can I buy a decent prelude/miata/integra with $3000?
you can where i live if you don't mind older generations
I bought a '91 KLR650! She cost me $1200, has 44k on the ODO(that's tiddlywinks for these thumpers, they're bulletproof) and a 7 gallon desert tank. I immediately gave the bike a quick rundown when I got it home and ordered everything I would need. - Full carb rebuild kit w/.22 mod - Intake boots(motor and airbox side, they were so stiff I could hardly get the carb back in) - UNI air filter - Brake pads and fluid - Clutch and brake levers - Clutch cable - Petcock - NGK Plug(only one plug, lol) - Temp sender - Fuel filter - Gas cap and gasket(someone retrofitted an IMS 7 gallon desert tank on this thing, it's ridiculous, the gasket was worn to shit so I know there are bits of rubber all up in the petcock, probably the cause of its failure) - Valve shim kit($20 says it's way out of adjustment at this mileage, and loves to backfire while downshifting) Once I have some more dosh I'm getting new handlebars and grips, then she should be prime for some serious trail riding. I've already done a little, but the brakes are scary and fade fast. Been riding her to work everyday though, rain or shine, and it's an absolute blast. Has a DGV4 exhaust and it's louder than shit. Rode to work today in the rain. So much fun! [t]http://i.imgur.com/f5BAhSd.jpg[/t] Gas cap and what's left of the "gasket": [t]http://i.imgur.com/XaMeWz7.jpg[/t] And my buddy Dustin trying to convince me to let him ride bitch to Chipotle. He thinks the bike is a hoot, he's a sponsored motorcrosser. [t]http://i.imgur.com/FOdb6Ry.jpg[/t] And on a side note, normally I wouldn't post stuff like this, but a good buddy of mine David has a little GoFundMe going for a homebrew sculpture (he's a craft beer fanatic, like me) that is just badass. It's got everything you need to get yourself a nice, compact, and clean brew setup going. The guy's had a tough break the last few years, so I've done all the work on his old BMW for free. He buys the parts, I fix the car, and in exchange he uses his awesome welding skills for my exhausts, mounts, and various other adapters I always end up needing - all for free. He's a great dude and the last thing I want is to see him losing his welding shop/being homeless, so if anyone is feeling generous, feel free to drop him a buck or two. I've given my contribution the best I can, and I appreciate anyone's generosity to help out a friend of a stranger. http://www.gofundme.com/upypnk It's a really cool sculpture, with beautiful welds! He's almost done with the prototype (hence the cardboard pressure gauges). [t]http://i.imgur.com/IC3zFyp.jpg[/t] Cheers guys!
put control arms in, washed, polished, claybared, and waxed the crustation. its looking like less of a shitbox these days. Cant wait to put the nismos on it [t]http://i.imgur.com/I4X8Oom.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/g8lIbMb.jpg[/t] havent touched the 240 in a while too many headaches not enough time
havent touched the 240 in a while too many headaches not enough time
I wanted to ask you, like how often does your drift car break from the thrashings of being drifted? Not including issues that popped on the swap that probably weren't due to drifting it? Obviously you go through tires quickly, albiet you get them for free iirc. Does that shit like destroy clutches and axles too?
I wanted to ask you, like how often does your drift car break from the thrashings of being drifted? Does that shit like destroy clutches and axles too?
I never broke anything when I actually drifted my 240. It hasn't really moved since December. I was running used shitty 15s I got for free at work but im at the point where I just buy new tires and take used ones if im lucky enough to fit nice ones I can find. Drifting on brand new tires is sweet, so much more control and consistency. I thrashed on that stock ka24e for 5 drift events, dailyied it for a year or so, bought the e36, then pulled the 240 engine that same week. The oil seals and clutch were on the way out, but literally nothing ever broke at the track, I daily drove it, drove to the track, and back home. Car is way lower now and basically nothing is stock so im probably gonna break everything :|. I left my job as a mechanic a few weeks ago expecting some time off to work on my stuff, but ive been stacked with work at this new job already. Im real close to having that thing done but literally every time I touch it I find something else that needs to be done, or have to order some bullshit that takes another week to arrive. tldr: work a ton of hours to have money to drift, or don't work and have time to drift.
have to order some bullshit that takes another week to arrive.
Literally my transmission swap. Thanks for the info, a friend asked me and I had no idea how intense stuff like that really was on a car and figured i'd ask you.
I have to say, my "new" 7 is the most reliable vehicle I've owned so far. Not had a single mechanical issue - knock on wood. Just standard maintenance. Pretty sweet. I wasn't really digging spending $12,000 on maintenance on the old 7 in less than a year.
